We visit family in the Marysville area from time to time. We've eaten here before but not in a long while. The menu is much more extensive and there is a full liquor license. We had a group of eight. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Fresh chips, carafes of salsa to pour into individual small bowls for safety. Tasty pitchers of margaritas. My fajitas Mexicanas was excellent (and huge). Good prices. We will go back. read more

There is a reason why I have a rule about not eating Mexican food in states that do not border Mexico... Situated in an old, majestic house, this place was the best recommendation for mexican food in the area. Boy, do I feel sorry for these people. If they ever come to DFW, I'll show them some GOOD mexican food. In any case, my hopes were raised when the server was Hispanic. However, the chips and salsa crushed them when I tasted them. The chips were stale, thick, white corn chips and the salsa (which you pour yourself from a salad dressing bottle) is basically just spicy ketchup. On the plus sides, the menu is diverse and cheap. There are a dozen lunch specials - all under $5.50 - including beef, chicken or shrimp fajitas (although I would be afraid to order shrimp here). Unfortunately, the fajitas were cooked in the kitchen and then just served on the plate with rice and flour tortillas. If it ever was sizzling or good smelling, that stayed in the kitchen. I had the pollo loco (#12), which was a decent two pieces of chicken in a spicy sauce, served with rice, lettuce salad and an avacado slice. I also got flour tortillas, which could have passed for store bought. The place was fairly crowded for a Tuesday lunch. But Yelpers, if you ever find yourself in Marysville, I would suggest you find someplace else and let me know where to go if/when I come back... read more

Las Cabanas - a sign for a mexican restaurant - Latin American Near Me - Marysville, Kansas

I was in town for work and ate at every restaurant between Marysville and Washington. There is no better place to eat. You're a class-less fool if you think there is. Eat here. read more

We were passing through and was craving Mexican. I ordered Carne Asada and the meat was seasoned perfectly. I will recommend this to my friends and family. read more

If you're from Texas, like the last reviewer, this place would be a disappointment. But if you're like me, a swede from the central plains who thinks apple pie is a mite spicy, this place is great! The venue is odd, as you have a late 1800s Victorian prairie mansion converted to a restaurant and painted orange on the inside. But it's cool nonetheless. The menu is huge and really cheap. I judge all Mexican places by the quality of the beans, and these were about a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10. The rice was really good. My burrito was also pretty good, and my husband seemed pleased with his pollo loco. The chips and salsa aren't the best I've ever had, but were definitely better than most. Staff was very friendly, and service was prompt. With tip, a meal for two was $16. read more

It's hard to tell when they are open anymore. I use to eat there all the time. But since they seemed to have changed their hours its hard to even know when they are open. Especially since they don't post anything on their door for the public to know. read more

I am mexican...Do not eat here if you want real mexican food! The folks here seem fairly nice but they need to do one thing.. THROW AWAY THE MICROWAVE! when i ordered basic staples like a quesadilla and rolled tacos i figured to wait 8-10minutes, thats the rate of frying for a rolled taco. Well to my surprise the food came back in 2 minutes..thats how long it took to run everything thru the micrawave including the valvetta cheese on top of the rolled tacos. What happened to basic shredded cheese? This place is mexican food in small town Kansas and they are taking advantage of the fact they are the only game in town. When you start cooking and stop microwaving let me know and Ill give yall another chance. read more

I travel for my Job once a year to Marysville. I always plan my trip around eating lunch here. Delicious food and reasonable prices. Thank for marking a long trip easier! read more

Quite to the contrary, this is a cozy, friendly place and the food is certainly NOT Tex-Mex which many might mistake for authentic Mexican food. Give it a try. Just a block off of US 36. Enjoyed the food very much. read more

This place has an authentic feel the moment you walked in the door. Everything screams Mexico. Food is fantastic, and not overly huge in portion size like many American restaurants. Sorry there aren't any pictures but it was too tasty to leave on the plate! read more

On my way to Lebanon via Washington and Cuba I spied this place as a possible lunch venue for our return trip to Manhattan. I really enjoyed the place. It's a beautiful historical old house. We were served very quickly. The food was decent but unremarkable. I should have gone with the server's recommendation of the house special bistec probably but we both went with some pollo dish. The rice was a little salty but overall it was decent and was a good portion. I liked the fact that everything was not smothered in cheese. They did have my favorite mexican beer, Negra Modelo which I washed everything down with. I thought the prices were good. I consider this place a pretty good value so they deserve an extra half a star for that. I would come back here if I am in the area again. Marysville itself is a cute little town. I would eat here again and explore the town if I am every back in the area again and had a little time. read more

Love this place! Great food and service. Such a treat when my husband and I travel through Kansas on our road trips...

Not too shabby of a place to eat, it's in an old/historic house that is usually well kept. Food is of the upper homemade quality and tastes good only issues are order accuracy from time to time. Overall a good place to eat. read more

Good service, reasonable price, very clean. Cold beer. It's set up in an old house off the main drag in a nice neighborhood. We'll be back on our next turkey hunt. read more

Stopped for lunch on Saturday afternoon. Service excellent. Food delicious. Love the combo plates. Prices very reasonable.

When they first opened we tried it and we were not impressed having lived for 40 years in Houston. We went back about three weeks ago and really had a good meal. No it it not like the Mexican restaurants closer to the border of Mexico. The Tortillas are not made on the premises like in TX, but they are good. We are heading back there tonight for supper. The service is good and the guests we had with us the last time thought it was good. read more
