The value at MN National might be unmatched. I highly suggest doing a stay and play. Its extremely reasonable on price, and the entire facility treats you like family. We had an outstanding experience, i cannot recommend it enough. The golf course is also very enjoyable. 5 out of 5 stras

There were two holes where there was a small lake where there wasn't supposed to be a lake due to rain runoff and poor drainage but other than that, greens were smooth and rolled true, fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. Flowers throughout the course were lovely. We played the forward tees which was just under 5200 yards which is a good distance. It was a challenging course. The back nine especially, had a lot of swamps or fescue to hit around. I wasn't in the sand a lot but lost a few balls to woods and swamps. Carts had GPS which I like for yardage because I don't have a scope. Despite the cart-path-only directive, we played the front nine in about two hours and the back slightly longer than that. The course was packed. Mondays are reduced price days so lots of people taking advantage of that. They have a beautiful bar/restaurant facility. At the turn, they have a nice stand with hot and cold food and beverages. We found all staff to be friendly. Great experience.

It was absolutely perfect in everyway. I can't wait to tell all of friends about this barn for future events. The space surrounding the barn and silo is enormous along with the barn itself which can hold up to 200 guests. My family and friends who came to our wedding expressed how beautiful the barn was along with all the decorations we used to make it something you soon wouldn't forget. I'd like to thank everyone who made our day possible, all the decorations, the cake/cupcakes, pictures, food etc....it truely was a lot in those few days but we pulled it off. The barn it'self though is beutiful. With the old rustic charm that brings you back to where it first began to the modern event style, the balcony on the left side facing the silo made a beautiful picture for my family and I. We used hay for outdoor seating for our guests, along with a homemade arch created from birch wood from my mother-in-laws husband. When you have that much room to work with here, your imagination with what you can have runs wild. The tables were provided by the owner along with medal chairs for seating. With seat covers and table cloths everything came out so beautiful. You dont have to do this but my wife and I invited "The Forge" for axe throwing which was so much fun. Friends and family gathered around to test out thier skills. I absolutely recommend it. The upstairs of the barn made a great area for dancing as well. Like I said, when you have all that room for your event, your imagination runs wild. Don't be afraid to go all out, you only find the love of your life once. #Schroyerfamilydaily #wedding #weddingvenue #marriage #crfeventcenter #venue #ido #theknot #mountainironmn

"Hello, Heartwood? I would like to make reservations for your Mother's Day Brunch for 9:00 a.m."…read more "How many will be in your party?" "Just me. My husband passed away in January." We went on, the two of us, talking pleasantries a bit more, stranger to stranger. I promised I would be there at 9:00 and hung up. The next morning, I was there on time and was greeted by the young woman who recognized my name. "We talked last night. You are our guest today. No charge." Stephanie said. I was dumbfounded and realized that she saw within me something I didn't realize I had revealed--that I needed to be pampered, that I was vulnerable, that I was tired, that I was worried, that I hurt. I had never alluded to any of that over the phone, but she knew. The staff regularly checked on me, the owner especially making certain I was fine, and I was. The brunch was amazing, filled with luscious entrees, a far cry from the normal Northwoods pizza-hamburger venues. I was also able to enjoy watching the young parents with their children, lining up for their eggs and shrimp and everything delightful. I am home now and soon I will be watching a movie--probably a western--that my husband would have liked. I will remember him telling me all about the lives of the actors, how this movie compared to another, how the plots developed. I will remember my folks and wish they were again enjoying the rustic comforts of the cabin. I will remember my caring son and daughter who will call later to see what mischief I have been into. And I will remember the "strangers" who crossed my path today to help point me forward into a journey of hope.

This was for cottage 3. They are spread apart pretty good three and four as well as one and two kind of share a fire pit areas not really share but they're close together where you where you would hang out but otherwise they're nicely spaced. the row boats and the dock are right by cabin 1 which I would say is probably the best location of the four especially the nicest view then I think cabin 2 has the next best view.
