Very nice northern MN golf course. The course was in good condition. We had quite a bit of rain the day before we golfed, so it was cart-path-only for the carts. There were two holes where there was a small lake where there wasn't supposed to be a lake due to rain runoff and poor drainage but other than that, greens were smooth and rolled true, fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. Flowers throughout the course were lovely. We played the forward tees which was just under 5200 yards which is a good distance. It was a challenging course. The back nine especially, had a lot of swamps or fescue to hit around. I wasn't in the sand a lot but lost a few balls to woods and swamps. Carts had GPS which I like for yardage because I don't have a scope. Despite the cart-path-only directive, we played the front nine in about two hours and the back slightly longer than that. The course was packed. Mondays are reduced price days so lots of people taking advantage of that. They have a beautiful bar/restaurant facility. At the turn, they have a nice stand with hot and cold food and beverages. We found all staff to be friendly. Great experience. read more

Wow!! Exceeded every expectation!! Service, food, course, club house, all were just wow!!! There were 7 of us and we called and had a shuttle pick us up at the dock. From the moment we were picked up, this fantastic adventure began. The shuttle was awesome! The driver, Chris, was just awesome! He was friendly and funny and seriously kicked us off the right way. It felt like he was part of our group as he fit in so well! He toured us to the clubhouse and educated us on the property. There are two stunning homes that can be rented for groups or retreats while using the golf course. We are totally coming back to stay in one soon! We arrived at the club house and admired the course. It was meticulously maintained and the day was absolutely spectacular weather wise, so the course showed off with the incredible sunshine. What a nicely appointed course We walked into the facility and what a beautiful, and impressively done space the clubhouse and restaurant was! This would be a fantastic place for a fancy wedding or corporate event! The restaurant was fantastic! The service was seriously out of this world! We were treated like we were celebrities by the entire staff! We literally ordered every sandwich on the menu and had shared them all to vote on what we thought was our absolute favorites, the burnt ends, and pot roast melt were out of this world amazing!! The cheesesteak was also fantastic!! The restaurant is tastefully decorated, but I have to say, I loved that they had pull tabs as well!! I mean, who doesn't like some good pull tabs in Minnesota? Ha! Aaliyah was one of our servers and she took amazing care of us along with all the staff. After lunch, we had to make a visit to the pro shop, again, so impressed with the selection of items and the amazing service from the staff. Perhaps it was the high from the day or it could have been the sensational drinks at the bar, but the retail therapy was alive and well that day!! Played two rounds of golf and stayed overnight in one of their rental units. Golf course itself is in good shape. Our group had pre registered. The confusion regarding our room though was very un-necessary. There seems to be little communication between management and staff. When we asked about room code, employee told us not his area didn't know anything and did not offer to help. After finally getting unit door code asked employee for directions. Her reply. I don't have any idea. . I asked at bar for what kind of snacks l might get. I was told to go outside, downstairs to shack that catered to golfers to obtain some. What happens after dark? Signage on golf course and getting to housing units from club house mostly laciking clarity. . read more

A beautiful golf course in northern Minnesota! They have a great 18 hole course and a nice executive 9! The course has some nice challenging holes along with beautiful landscaping! Prices are reasonable and the executive 9 is an easy walk course if you want some exercise! Make sure to make reservations as they seem to fill times quickly! read more

We had the Saturday evening special " Smoked Prime Rib" for $ 35.99 each. Waitress was very nice, did not seem to know the menu all that well ? It came with a side, but they had two lists of sides, we ask if we could order off of either, she said yes. I ordered onion rings, and my brother ordered french fry's. She can back and side we could not do that as it only came with wild rice and a salad. We side fine bring the side we ordered before the meal. The salads came, and the main course 30 sec. later. ( poor timing ) The Smoked prime rib was cold, with no wild rice, it came with cooked carrots which were ice cold. We were only given a butter knife to cut the meat. Our friend ordered the salmon dinner for $ 21.99, which was nice, but not very warm. We were charged $ 9.98 for 2 side salads - which I assume was the onion rings and fry's ? plus $ 7.32 for two diet pops, and $ 7.31 for one glass of Pinor Nor white wine. with tax the bill was $ 127.10. Outrages for that kind of money, and very poor food. Another place close by has the same special for Prime Rib which is excellent for less money. Stay away from this place !!!! read more

Great course. One of my favorites in northern Minnesota. Pretty good food. People have always been very friendly.

We were the only table in the entire restaurant on a beautiful Friday night on the golf course. There was one table of 3 guys on the deck that had a quick drink after golf and another couple had an appetizer and drink after golf but both left. We sat on the deck. Dining room was empty. The event planner was in the table next to us. Nice gal. She was working but also the waitress was serving her vodka cran grapefruit drinks in clear plastic cups with lids. We over heard her telling the waitress what her order was. We never saw her pay for them but that's non of our business. She had at least 3 or 4 while we were there. The waitress served her two at one time and she had one before that. She said she was working. She had files and notebooks she was working on. She was nice enough to move to the other side of our table so her cig smoke didn't bother us. Very nice gal and very helpful. The waitress (never said her name) served our DIet coke and we ordered. Nachos for an app, I had the ribeye MEDIUM RARE with loaded baked potato and my husband had the fried walleye with loaded baked potato. The waitress said she didnt think they served baked potato's? I read the menu to her. She still wasn't sure. The event planner corrected her that yes they had baked potatoes. 45 MINUTES later with zero other guests our nachos arrived. We were starving! She set it down and walked away. They were the grossest looking nacho's. Cold all the way through, CANNED cheese sauce, a few sprinkles of shredded cheese on top but not melted, big hunks of Romain lettuce on top. ISH!! We returned them and told her to take off the bill. Taco Belle's nacho's look better than those! Taco Bell uses canned cheese not a beautiful golf course establishment!! 15 more minutes goes by and still no dinner. The event planner gal was nice enough to go check for us. The waitress brought our food. An HOUR after we ordered. My steak was WELL done, the loaded potato was just bacon on top. The veggies were way over cooked beans and broccoli which were almost brown mixed together. My husband's potato was cold and the fish tasted freezer burnt/ not fresh. Both of our buns were so dry they wouldn't even be good for croutons! We broke them open and they were like crumbs and dust! Unbelievable. We are the only people in there and now I know why!!! A nice gal named Tiff who was super nice as well and the event planner (I forgot her name) wanted to replace the steak but at that point we left starving and wanted to go somewhere else. My husband didn't get a chance to specifically tell them what was wrong with his fish because we just decided leave. We offered to pay for our sodas and the events gals said they were so sorry and to please try again. The one gal is the bartender on Sundays and was nice enough to invite us to stop in and see her for a Bloody Mary. When we were going through the dining room it was like a ghost town. There were two old guys at the bar and the rest of the building was empty. We found that very strange considering the beautiful view of the golf course on a gorgeous Friday night in the summer. We have a cabin near Minnesota National Golf Course and we always make it a point when we are up to get in a picturesque round of golf and enjoy a cold drink on the deck afterwards. The staff is always extremely welcoming and helpful. My husband and I have played at numerous golf courses in MN and around the country and we feel the golf course is in excellent condition. There is also great merchandise for sale in their pro shop. We always bring our friends to play golf and have drinks and they are never disappointed! read more
