Without a moment of hesitation, we can say that this is a great store. There are two primary drivers to that evaluation. The first is the store itself. The store is new, and is very well maintained. It is well-arranged, and reflects all of the layout improvements that Meijer is working to implement at other locations. Most importantly, the store is always clean. The second factor in our evaluation is that the employees are great. They greet us, and treat us as welcome guests. I have had employees walk me to other locations in the store to find items we were seeking. They are very helpful at the check-out area, and quickly provide assistance when needed.

The night manager who has a limp and assistant manager who is short and has curly hair with cauliflower ear are beyond creepy. Instead of running the store, they stalk and stare at customers--especially women--making the whole shopping experience extremely uncomfortable. The moment you walk in, they start following you around the store, watching your every move like some kind of predator. I don't know if they think they're being subtle, but it's painfully obvious. It's unsettling and makes you want to leave as fast as possible. No customer should feel watched, judged, or stalked while trying to shop. On top of that, they treat their employees like absolute garbage right in front of customers. I've seen them yell at workers, degrade them, and act like they're above everyone. If this is how they behave when people are watching, I can only imagine how bad it is behind the scenes. Between the creepy, unprofessional behavior and the toxic management, I cannot recommend this store to anyone--especially at night. If you don't want to feel watched, stalked, or uncomfortable, do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else.

We have bought a lot of other things too, like the pickled baby beets, apple butter, knives, and fresh-cut lunchmeat. We have never tried their pies, donuts, or other baked goods, but if you visit on baking day, it smells so good in the store that they are very hard to resist. The minute you walk in you're going to be hungry, even if you just ate. The house smoked and cured meats can literally be smelled in the parking lot. DGS has everything from local North Michigan specialities to fresh produce and an array of MI butchery products. The star of the show however is all their house made meats... Sausages, brats, jerky, etc., DSG has it all. Plus the staff is super friendly and helpful... Some of the friendliest people we've met in a while. When we're in the Cadillac area again, we will no doubt make a point to get back to DGS to stock up... Two thumbs up.

An amazing small grocery store with some high end products…read more This place is similar to places near high end communities where you see lobster tails and superb cuts of beef. Lots of high end spirits and wine. Many small batch jars of sauces, condiments, jams, etc. Boars Head meets sliced for you. Nice salmon and Tuna. Plus the regular groceries that everyone needs. They even have a single barrel whisky that the staff selects and has bottled just for them. It's better than expected for the price. Staff was super helpful and polite.
