It's actually Boon Country Store. GPS doesn't like the address of Haskins Rd. When we called, the lady told us to look for 34 Rd. Easy to follow the signs to Boon from 115 just outside of Cadillac. Other than your typical camping and hunting convenience items, food and drinks this place also sells cheese. Lots and lots of cheese. Be sure to sample from more than 20 cheeses especially their sharp and extra sharp Colby! Chocolate cheese? They have it. Spicy cheese? They have it. Smokey cheese, herb cheese, mushroom cheeses? They have those, too.

The employees didn't come off real friendly at first, but I pulled up in a Porsche truck, hopped out with UGG boots, a Glock on my hip, and running shorts. That's not the normal vibe for this area. Prices a bit high on normal sundries, bit ragged place, and some things with mega long shelf lives were close. Parmesan cheese has a huge shelf life, and theirs wasn't too far off. The minute you walk in you're going to be hungry, even if you just ate. The house smoked and cured meats can literally be smelled in the parking lot. DGS has everything from local North Michigan specialities to fresh produce and an array of MI butchery products. The star of the show however is all their house made meats... Sausages, brats, jerky, etc., DSG has it all. Plus the staff is super friendly and helpful... Some of the friendliest people we've met in a while. When we're in the Cadillac area again, we will no doubt make a point to get back to DGS to stock up... Two thumbs up.
