From me, the highest recommendation to scoot on out to Maroubra Junction and dine at Kitchen by…read moreJamie. I like food with a story, and I'm charmed by this one, as years ago, Jamie and Daniela invited me (and some friends) over to their place for the concept 'Dine with...', a sort of dinner party with a professional chef. It combined wonderful food that you couldn't make yourself with the comfortable feeling of home. That same feeling has been transferred to their new restaurant, that feels both high-end and polished, but also like hanging out with friends or family. It was all the more comforting that we stopped by for Sunday lunch when there are the Sunday roast specials. We couldn't resist. Possibly the largest Yorkshire pudding that I've ever seen, a very rich gravy, perfectly crisp roasted potatoes, carrots, green beans and for me: roast pork (delicious, tender, perfect) and for husband: roast beef (tasty, he said). Our vegetarian guest had homemade gnocchi, the first time she'd tried it, and was impressed with it, as well as the generous sprinkle of almonds. The dishes we had did remind me of my first meeting with Jamie and Daniela. The food is beautiful and of a quality that's clear a professional is in charge here (he describes his cuisine as combining British and French). It's beautifully plated on gorgeous plates. But it's also not fussy or complicated food, and the real emphasis is on food that is perfectly tasty. We managed to get through the desserts too (that came with the roast dinner). A rocky road brownie, replete with marshmallows and dried fruit; and one of the best sticky date puddings I've ever had. The food really is wonderful and the hospitality unbeatable. Do go check it out!

Stumbled on their website by accident and was hooked by their special 1st anniversary degustation…read morenight of their six best selling dishes. Menu looked fantastic and I can't stop thinking about it, so I made a reservation. Since my favourite French restaurant closed last year, I've been on the lookout for a new favourite, this could be it. A glass of sparkling on arrival and a friendly smile, enough to make a great first impression before our amuse bouche arrived, Escargot with Garlic & Parsley Butter. Definitely a great start! We didn't have to wait long before the first course arrived, Sydney Rock Oysters with Sauce Mignonette. Vinegar with mince eschallots made great accompaniment to the freshly shucked oysters. Black Truffle & Mushroom Veloute with Crumbed Quail Egg is creamy and earthy with perfectly cooked crumbed quail egg added necessary texture to the dish. Pan Fried Pancetta Rolled Scallop with Foie Gras, Fennel Remoulade, Lemon & Lime Vinaigrette was excellent. This was my favourite dish of the night. It was sublime. Everything on the plate complemented each other and the foie gras added complexity to the dish. Kimchi, Tofu, Ham Hock Terrine with Apple, Ssamjang Chutney, Sesame Leaf & Nashi Pear Walnut Salad was fresh and a great follow up after a heavy meal, a palate cleanser before our next heavy meal. But the highlight and my husband's favourite dish of the night was Grilled Eye Fillet of Beef with Basil Pistou & Jus. Perfectly seared sous vide beef so tender it felt like butter when you cut through it. It left an impression on my husband so big he seriously contemplating on buying a sous vide machine to try and recreate it. Just when we thought they can't go any better than this, desserts came. I had the Passionfruit and Plum Creme Brulée with its perfectly cracked caramelised sugar topping added extra crunch. I can't really taste the plum though, but found generous amount of Passionfruit inside the Brulée. My husband chose the Apple Tarte Tatin, Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream & Salted Crumbed and I can tell you he kept telling how happy he was that he chose it for his dessert. The proof is in the pudding, or in this case the Tarte Tatin as he scraped clean his plate within minutes of consuming it. Great timing on the delivery for each course. The matching wines I had with my meals were greatly matched. All that combined with intimate ambience and friendly staff definitely completed a pleasant dining experience.

The pumpkin puree and pomegranate are a excellent compliment to the Barramundi, im really impressed   My fiancé loved her duck dish also. Everyone else had no complaints with there dishes WE didn't try any desserts The Set menu is $60 for 3 courses, the zomato menu is outdated. But from this you will only save $4 or $5, In general I found the prices a little expensive Service was attentive and friendly though food took a little longer to come out than expected Despite the price it's a place I would come back to try something else. Worth trying!

We rolled in here on a voucher but were prepared to pay extra on pre dinner drinks and coffee as our three course meal was discounted. We were able choose off the menu and the specials without any limit too. There was a feeling that this voucher was an advertisement for what they could offer rather than half serves. However, that being said, the portions are the usual French serves but you still don't go home hungry. The service was excellent from the bar to the table. There is a bar for pre dinner drinks and cocktails. I liked "The Last Word" cocktail. Complimentary bread and butter to start after we chose our entree and main. Snails did not come in the shell so there was no extra implements needed, and they were very nice. The French onion soup suited my dining buddy too. Our mains of Duck a l'orange and steak were excellent. The ratatouille was oddly salty and we probably shouldn't have ordered it anyway. Dessert was off the menu and on a trolly so we were spoilt for choice there too. Not a fan of the coffee but I did order a macchiato and that brings out a multitude of sins that cappuccinos hide. The little chocolates that came with the coffee were very nice. There were a few people eating there and it seemed that some are regular customers. The loos were in keeping with the decor too but are hidden behind mirrors so you might need guidance when you want to wash your hands. You are in a club so you will need to produce some identification (driver's licence) before you can go through to the restaurant. There is plenty of off street parking. It is recommended to use the multi storey cark park but we used the ground level parking as it was very well lit.

A truly exotic outlet offering the opportunity to spoil yourself with plates of exotic Balik Salmon…read moreand Prunier Caviar, the very best local oysters, prawns & other seafood offerings. Seafood Bar is a wonderful place to sit and relax while waiting for a plane. Sit back as they prepare the food in front of you, the only fresher and the oysters would still be in the water. I had the caviar that comes direct from France with a glass of champagne, of course they aren't the cheapest in the world: $55.00 for a teaspoon of caviar (5gms) and a glass of Champagne ($170 a bottle). I wasn't paying! If you want to take a really special present for someone overseas they even sell tins of Caviar: 10gms for $55, up to 125gms for $765. They have special cooler bags that will last for 24 hours at least. They also have Balik Beer gift packs, Balik is a district in France so don't bother if you happen to be going there! If you don't like Champagne, you can always have their own signature brand of vodka with Caviar. It's something special and is popular with honeymooners. Even singer Jamiroquai has been there.

But let me buy into your down to earth attitude for a second.... As you make you way to the bar and order something to eat.... Now the question is what should you get to eat? - Well if you're looking for a bargain, why not go for the $99 special - 30g of caviar with a "free" glass of vodka or sparkling wine - or..... why not get the $179 bargain - which is 50g of caviar with its "free" alcohol addition. Not everything on the menu is unaffordable.... I could buy a few goodies in the salmon section - Salmon Pearls ($22) are salmon eggs served with crème friache and chopped onions or tha plane Smoked Tasmanian Smoked Salon is $28.50 - something that might be a bit more in my price range... I tried the salmon and it was beautiful - but the servings were small.... You're better off spending 30 at a fresh seafood store and buying salmon for your whole family to share.... I'd recommend this place if you're wealthy, love caviar and appreciate caviar...
