There was a guitarist perched on a chair elevated higher than the bar for "live" entertainment. There was plenty of staff but (and this is where I should bring the score of 3 stars down) not much doing in the form of clearing the tables and wiping them down. The staff barely wore their masks. About 50% of the people preparing and serving serving the meals wore masks. The fellow who appeared to be the head chief wore his under beard. There was a separate area for pizza and I could see that pizzas were a popular choice. Our food was OK. I would give the soft tacos a miss and the salmon could have been better. The pasta looked to be made elsewhere but seemed OK. I would go back there to have pizza and sit in the beer garden when it gets warmer...as long as this visit wasn't a super spreader event! I didn't mark them on their Covid safety as I just don't think they can police it. Not much point in making rules if they can't be enforced so just be informed.

The service staff is very attentive and I believe the owner who works there is very hospitable and really knows his food, coffee, etc. We ordered several items ranging from oysters, smoked salmon, beef ribs, fish of the day, scallops and dessert and we thoroughly enjoyed all of the items. They also have a coffee roaster and a very nice espresso machine. Definitely check this place out!

You can choose to sit inside or in the outdoor courtyard which we opted to as the word heaters were mentioned. The courtyard is beautif Since they are still relatively new they menu is currently limited to two pages but they keep adding specials every week. The first page consists of tasting plates - Antipasti plates and the second consists of mains. We were advised that they encourage people to share all the dishes. We decided to get 4 items from the tasting menu so 2 cheese and 2 cold meats which came to $30 and bread was included for free! We got a basket of assorted crisp bread, crackers and multigrain to have with out tasting plates. I would have to say it may not look like much but the tasting plates can get filling so if you are getting mains as well best try not to eat all the bread! Staff were very attentive and helpful when it came to the selections on the menu. Overall, good first time visit. Looking forward to going back to try some of the mains. They also serve breakfast from 7am to 11am - I also would like to try this.

The menu was primarily seafood, also not a surprise. I decided to order a salad, not really in the mood for seafood. There was roast cauliflower, steak, chicken Parmesan, and various pizzas in addition to fishy dishes. The place was also packed, so I was glad we got an outside table. I thought my salad was delicious. It had fennel and Parmesan cheese shavings over the greens. I don't know what the greens were, but everything went well together and it was a generous portion. I had second thoughts about salad when I saw the amazingly presented entrees my dining companions had selected. After starting out with a beautiful Bloody Mary, my daughter-in-law had a crumbed dory burger with chips(fries in the States). It had two fish patties coated in herbed crumbs and she said she almost always ordered it, it was so good. It looked delicious but I stuck with my salad. My son had beer-battered flathead fish and chips. It was perfect with crunchy, lightly browned coating covering flakey white fish. I snagged a few of his fries which were also perfect. Prices in restaurants are always higher than in the U.S., but how likely are we to find fish like dory or flathead on the menu? Additionally, waitstaff in Australia are paid a living wage and don't rely on tips.

My niece and I ate here on my last night of a two week trip to Australia. The meal was…read moreexceptional. The first course was termed snacks, and consisted of an oxtail skewer, a mini-crab tart, a slab of country bread, and a couple of pickle slices. We added two optional items to that: a grilled scallop with Nori butter and a Moreton Bay Bug. The two optional items were excellent. I enjoyed the other items as well but wished the oxtail skewer was served hotter. The next course was a sashimi-like preparation of tuna and scallop, served in a tomato water and accompanies by a thin thin flatbread and a horseradish sauce. At this point, we were happy, but when the next course came we crossed from happy into blown away. The main course was lamp rump crusted with a dill and tarragon mix, and served with Hasselback potatoes in a Comte cheese sauce. The lamb was incredibly tender and flavorful. The potatoes were CRAZY good. The photo that looks like croissants were the potatoes - maybe the best potatoes I've ever had. There was also a small tasty salad. At this point, we were getting full, but there was no way we were leaving a morsel of that main course behind. After the main course came a double dessert. One item was creme brulee, served with a fresh blackberry sauce. The other item was termed a petit four but was shaped more like a mini-muffin. It was a hazelnut based pastry served with a cream made of white chocolate and maybe ricotta or mascarpone. Whatever you want to call it, that petit four was unreal. It was SO good that neither of us left a crumb behind, and both of us concluded that we could eat one every day for the rest of our lives. From the name and the information I had about the menu from Instagram and other sources, I expected a very formal "white-table-cloth" atmosphere. Instead, the restaurant itself was small and casual, with half the dinner service provided on small outdoor tables on the sidewalk. That's not a complaint, just not what I expected. All in all, the meal was outstanding. A wonderful way to end a vacation.

With a prix fixe menu (AUD 85), all you have to decide is whether to eat here or not and whether to pair it with wine (AUD 70). If you choose the wine pairing, you will find that the pairing was thoughtful and generous. Here's what we ate and drank: Country Loaf with House Butter/Pickles/Snacks (fried tapioca and salmon with nori rice cracker) Cremant de Loire Farmhouse Terrine aux Fruits de Mer Manoella Duoro Branco Aylesbury Duck Breast & Confit Leg served with potatoes and leeks Pinot Noir Baba au Rhum + Orange & Yuzu gelatin Armagnac + fresh white grape juice Surprising me the most was the terrine aux fruits de mer because of the delicate texture and taste. While the baba au rhum was prepared well, I was more interested in the gelatin. Dining outside proved to be quite noisy with the ambulance, horn honking, and a motorcycle engine revving several times. For next time, I would choose indoors.
