I bought a package here for a glass blowing class for my mom's birthday and we were (pun intended) blown away!! Such friendly and knowledgeable staff who really give you a hands on experience. Our class made the cutest glass pumpkins which will be a great reminder of our fun experience. I would whole heartedly recommend this business and look forward to trying their other classes!

Love Larchmere Fire Works! Truly talented artists sharing their skills to teach you how to blow glass, glass fusion, blacksmithing or they will make a piece for you., large shop to buy their pieces or other local artists. Tina made a beautiful heart with my dad's cremation ashes for my mom, it is beautiful. My daughter just took a class, all ages can learn.

What a great, fun business in the Lanchmere area! I had never experienced glass blowing before and had some friends come to town, so we decided to try the drinking glass making class. The instructor was very patient with us as newbies and allowed us to help as much or as little as we wanted to. We also had an almost 5 year old with us, and he was even to participate safely in the process. I will definitely recommend this to my friends and coworkers and offer this to other out of town guests. Thank you for offering glass blowing to the general public.

Awful! Don't waste…read moreyour money! One of those times you legit wish you could give 0 stars. We purchased through Groupon. Our class (my two friends, my husband, and me) was supposed to be with the owner, Dan Miller. He was unbelievably rude. I've never been treated like that. My husband and I use N95s in public because I teach high-risk kids and because we don't want to get sick, either. He asked if we masked because we were concerned, and I said we were not sick but masked because I teach high-risk students and don't want to be the one to make a kid sick. My friend and I went to the bathroom before the class started. When we returned, people were filling out paper waivers. I said we had done one online and he said he also wanted a paper one. Ok. We signed and handed it back and he started being so rude to my friend because she didn't put her email and phone. She took back the form and added it, but apparently below the line where he wanted it and he started BERATING her for not following directions (the spot in which to write was small and she missed it and wrote in white space). He was, quite frankly, abusive. He then turned to me and went off about how we should return when we were not sick. I said again we were not sick, but we always masked because I was a teacher. He then repeated how he didn't appreciate us coming sick, and really started insulting me as I tried explaining, for the third time, that I wasn't sick and hadn't been sick in five years. It was so unpleasant. I've never been berated like that by a business owner or employee. We left. He threatened he was going to make sure Groupon wouldn't refund our money. I mask to protect myself and others, especially my students. But, from reading reviews, it isn't just that he's opposed to masks; he's just a massive jerk all around, especially towards women.

This is a very hands-on class and it can be a little challenging, but there are many different piece selections you can choose from. Would definitely try again. Austin was our instructor. They only show films on the weekend, but they usually show a good variety over a three day period. You can pick up a paper schedule or check the schedule online. There is paid parking in a garage close by or you could look for street parking. If you love old movies this is the place for you. Another plus is the theatre is close to Little Italy. You can pick up a cannoli before or after the show. This is always a bonus for us. My only complaint is I wish The Cinematheque was located closer to my home. It is a great venue!

I love the art of film, and attending films here is one of my favorite things to do in Cleveland. From documentaries, to classic films, to new films or world cinema, they do it all. However, COVID has changed the world of film. Like so many of my favorite film spots, the Cinematheque has transitioned to a virtual screening room...and I love it. They are doing a beautiful job still curating excellent films available for home viewing. With such limited new films coming out, this is important! They are keeping the art of film alive! Please donate to the Cinematheque if you can or rent a film from their virtual screening room. So what's next in my queue? They have an awesome documentary on Cleveland's own Agnes Gund, which I'm renting this weekend! Support local!

My mom is impossible to shop for, so I was super excited when I came across this Mother's Day special on the Akron Glass Works Facebook page. It is a beautiful old church converted into and art space right off of the University of Akron campus. There were about 12 people total with two instructors for the group. They gave a demonstration and then thoroughly went over all the steps with an emphasis on safety. I was a little nervous working with molten hot glass, but the professionalism of the instructors set me at ease. They're by your side the whole time... but you're actually creating the piece yourself. I have been to other glass blowing studios where the instructors are so hands-on, that you feel like you took no part in the entire process. Not this place. I definitely felt like I was making something and they were just there to make sure I didn't burn my hand off. The whole process took less than an hour and our pieces were available for pickup the next day. We each got to make two glass flowers which all turned out beautifully. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something different to do! We had such a great time!
