I found AMCPA to have aggressive pricing, extremely transparent and a clean and easy process. I had several folks who guided me through the process. Don was always available checking in, seeing if I had any questions. Which oddly enough, I did - I just hadn't asked him. When we were finding a home Brian Mathison who was another LO made himself available if Dustin wasn't. Kelsey FitzGerrell was our Processor and stayed on top of everything. Plus, they had a really cool app for my phone which made uploading documents a heck of alot easier than trying to scan or fax them in. The app also kept me updated as to any outstanding items and status changes. The team also helped me sign the final documents while I was on the road moving from California to Houston, which could have been a logistical nightmare. Thanks AMCAP Team!

Buyer beware. I wish I saw these reviews earlier below. They exhibit my experience too! I used this…read morecompany and will never use them again. Facts: 1. The pre-qualification process. The prequalification is just a basic ratio with no rigor. You can be pre-qualified for a billion dollar home perhaps and then when clear to close happens a zero hour, the true diligence happens - from seeing your corporate returns to general ledger to bank statements that have not even been produced by your own bank. All the 45-60 prior you have be led to believe you were in good standing. The party that pre-qualifies is NOT the same party that clears you to close. 2. Study your timelines and overcommunicate to them. I never got so sharp on the mortgage process until I witnessed the comedy of errors from this firm. First, we were told we need an appraisal. Then we didn't. Next we asked for a new close date, and did not get but verbal from the Loan Officer. Then less than 48 hours from the closing day, the company asks for the paper-ed up new closing date documents. It was our experience that this company works from your close date to do EVERYTHING. While I asked for a 30 day deadline of standard mortgage dates, clear to close, 3 day closing docs etc,. NONE OF THIS WAS MET. I had to get the President to act on loan processing to actually get my loan into formalized review. Then, every sales manager on down called me but with no actual solutions. Terrible. 3. Closing docs - We got these 2 hours before closing time from the title company as they provided less than 24 hours in front to the title company. Imagine having to read about the terms of your new home purchase with like 2 hours or less. Then imagine that potentially the formalized review forced you to have to cough up more cash (like significantly more) because true review of your DTC ratios forced a different number on closing day. 4. Rate. The rate, the rate, the rate. We basically had to work with our LO and determine when to lock. We were glad we locked when we did but sad we did not lock earlier. If you have any understanding of markets - insist on the rate lock when you feel comfortable. Our Loan Officer was nice, but you could see his helplessness. I would have been WAY better serviced going with a nationwide company like Rocket Mortgage who communicates and holds internal SLA for this process for you. Buying a home is stressful enough much less having to manage Amcap through the process. Never again. I hope you factually gain insight from my experience.

2/6/21 This review is for Shannon Thomas. This is for the…read morerealtor service for my home purchase She was referred to me by Michael Moh at Chase bank. But Michael has not used Shannon for realtor service before-- but his client has. When Shannon called me to introduced herself, I made it clear that I would have to see the houses in the evening after work or the weekends. She was fine with that. Throughout the process before things changed, her service was "ok". In one month's time, we went and looked at 5 houses and sent about 5 offers. As my realtor, I do not pay her directly, but she earns a 3% commission through my home purchase and this equal to $6,450. What changed? As the option period ends on Friday (2/5/21), Shannon seemed to withdraw. So far, we went and view the house 2 times from the time we signed the contract till now (viewed on 1/31/21 and 2/1/21). Shannon does not seemed to make effort to let me get in the house this weekend when I texted her on Friday morning telling her that I need to get in the house this weekend. I do not understand why my realtor can't make arrangements to let me get in the house. Is it too much to expect from a realtor? What do we expect from our realtor service when they earn 3% from our home purchase? Is it too much to ask if we need to have access to the home for 2-4 more times before closing? If the realtor can not be at the house, do we expect her to make arrangement to get someone to let us in? I know the scope of tasks is not clearly defined as for what the realtor should provide to aid us through the complete purchase process. Our home search started in the beginning of January 2021 and I signed the contract on 1/31/21. This is roughly 1 month and the commission is $6,450. Getting access to the house is one issue, but the other one is the lack of help or guide. As her client, I expect her to look out for my interest. I was frustrated with the mortgage paperwork at Chase bank when I was dealing with Micheal Moh and I could not get Shannon's help on the matter. I could not understand why my discount point kept on changing. Discount point changed from pre-approval on 12/31/20 to 2/1/21 (signed edoc) and changed again on 2/3/21 (discount point -.25 and then .365 on 2/1/21 and then .44 on 2/3/21). When I asked Shannon about it, she said she is not familiar with the discount point and don't know. The rate on the pre-approval letter is much lower compared to the edoc I signed. I could not get any clear explanation from Michael Moh at Chase bank and could not get Shannon's help on the matter. The closing cost estimate on the pre-approval letter is much, much lower than the document I signed on the 2/1/21. Rating for Shannon Thomas: Negative: 1)withdraw help on Friday's request 2/5/21. Not willing to make arrangement to let me get in the home for this weekend. Had to write her an email about the matter. 2) Did not provide enough information ahead of time to guide me with the process. I did not realize the option period is the most important time for negotiation and get all inspections done prior to negotiation. Not a good idea to shorted option period to 5 days. 3) Was not able to get simple guide from realtor regarding loan paperwork that does not look right. (rate changed twice after signing edoc on 2/1/21.
