I have a totally insane and rather unbelievable yet true story to share about Lara B's shop....it has a happy ending, I promise! My friend was planning her wedding for October 4, 2008 and discovered rather inconveniently at the beginning of September that the dress she had ordered here in the U.S. (I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area in California, by the way) was not going to materialize. We were shocked, horrified, and panicked, and the Thursday evening we found out, I searched the internet for a similar dress. Lo and behold, I found the EXACT SAME DRESS (there is no other way to describe it other than fate, since the name of the dress was completely different from what it was called in the U.S.) that my friend had wanted to wear for her wedding on Lara B's website. It was on the website for a sample sale to be held that coming Sunday, so I spent Friday convincing my friend to take a chance on the dress (it was discounted 50%), even though it was across the ocean, even though she wasn't sure of the sizing (I had to convince her that UK sizes were different from US ones), and even though she was skeptical of the condition of the dress. She reluctantly gave in when the manufacturer of the dress proved unhelpful and unpromising as well. That evening (Friday, going onto Saturday at approximately 3 AM when the shop opened in the UK on Saturday morning), we called Lara, and she accommodated our interrogation with good humor (What is the condition of the dress? What color is it exactly? Does it have that sash-thing that goes around the back? How quickly can you ship it? Can you please confirm the price? Do you take credit cards?), and promised to ship the dress straightaway. A week later, the dress arrived in what I thought near-pristine condition (I mean, for a sample dress, it was immaculate), and my friend got to wear her dream dress to her wedding, all thanks to Lara B and her absolutely wonderful customer service. Lara B, not only does Wedding Dresses but she also does Prom/evening Dresses. I went into there, looking for a prom dress, After looking in loads of places and finding very little, or nothing that i truly loved. As we went in, Lara was smiling and very happy to help me. I must of tried on about 10 dresses and i got it down to three. I couldn't decide between these, and i must have had 4 appointments, just to decide, trying each of them on, in front of a different set of people in my family. They were so so helpful, and eventually I did choose my dream dress, me being very picky, was great that i found a dress i truly loved. She said it could take up to 3 months to come, but after a short 4 weeks, my dress had arrived, and it was perfect. She offered to press it for me, as after unpacking it, it was quite creased. But i just wanted to get it home, and so i got my mum to do it instead. The dress was so wonderful, i got prom queen. So i would recommend this shop to anybody. The Service is more than 5*, and the people who work there, are happy, smiling and make you feel so welcome. One of the other dresses i nearly got, was going to need altering, and this is a service that Lara provides. For those wanting a wedding dress, I'm not joking, the dresses are STUNNING and I'm sure that most people would find their perfect dress there. Top quality shop. read more
