This store is right off the market square, so it's very convenient if you're in the centre of town. It does feel rather cramped, especially on busy weekends. But the displays are very attractive and some of the clothes beautiful. I even got my bridesmaids' dresses (stretch satin cocktail type dresses) from here! (And was most annoyed when I saw them on sale a few weeks later for almost half the price!) After climbing up a spiral staircase at the back of the store, you'll find shoes, bags and various accessories, as well as a very grandiose dressing room with long mirrors and seats. This was the first place I tried - and it was by far the best! You do have to book in advance if you want to try on wedding dresses as it gets very busy, especially on weekends. There's a room downstairs for private fittings, where (once you've made your appointment) you can try on dresses to your heart's content! The service is fantastic and the staff really professional and patient. If you tell them you have to stick to a budget they will try to accommodate you. The range of dress styles is amazing too. If like me, the blancmange doesn't do it for you, there are plenty of really classy, simple dresses in there - everything from fishtail to column dresses - you name it! Ironically I ended up buying the second dress I ever tried on - after then trying on endless other bridal dresses! However, the Cambridge T K Maxx is the most chaotic I have been to. Clothes were all over the place, in the wrong section - trousers with tops, coats with skirts. And none of the sizes were in the correct places, so you really had to rummage to find what you were looking for. The staff were relatively helpful, although several of the items I found were mis-priced, or without prices altogether, which delayed my shopping further. It is great for a bargain, but if you are after a stress-free shopping experience stick to the high street and pay a bit more.

But the displays are very attractive and some of the clothes beautiful. Their sales are pretty good (you pay about what you probably should be paying in the first place!) but you've got to get in quick as the good stuff gets snapped up fast!
