The Ha Long is simple, yet complicated all at once. Simple in that they sell fish, and a little bit of seafood, but mostly just fish. Big fish, little fish, weird fish, wonderful fish, all sorts of fish. It's sold whole (no fillets from what I can see), and cheap, usually a few dollars per pound with all sorts of selection (as long as you want fish). Essentially you point to what you want, say how much (or how many fishes) you want, they weigh it, clean it, and put it in a bag for you. It sounds simple but it's complicated as things like prices can be lost in translation, I once thought I was paying $1.89/pound but it turned out to be more like $4/pound for Bass, I think I need to practice my Vietnamese. No matter, the quality is good, the selection is good, the service is friendly, and the prices are very good. The also sell some herbs and other things you might want to have with fish (such as lemons) so it can be a one stop shop for your fish dinner, although you may want to brush up on your filleting skills as they don't do it for you (I don't think).

Since then, we've dined here countless times and even spent our first anniversary here. It became our tradition and we've been coming back to celebrate our anniversary every year since. Their Chi Chi Seafood Tower is hands down our favourite and basically a must-order every time. Everything is always so fresh and it's perfect if you're a seafood lover. We tried the snow crab linguini for the first time on our most recent visit and it was sooo buttery and delicious. Their lobster poutine is another favourite we've had before and is honestly to die for! Over the years we've tried quite a few things here and the quality has always kept us coming back. I also love that there's still a seafood market attached, so you can pick up fresh seafood to bring home as well. I visited this store on Canada Day eve. Naturally, there were butter tarts and all things Canadian everywhere. It was cool. I always loved seeing the swinging gorilla in the produce section.
