I asked for a butterfly cut and a trim to touch up my layers and Audrey blew me away. She was careful and diligent. She has 6 years of hair cutting experience and is knowledgeable of Korean hair trends and contemporary hairstyles. She offers men and women haircuts and a variety of perms. The studio is #20 and she texted me directions on how to locate the salon and where to park which I appreciated. I asked Audrey how she came up with the name for her hair studio and she said she drew inspiration from the rodem tree from the Bible and she aims to help her clients feel refreshed from their difficult lives. I definitely felt brand new after my cut. I would come here again! No tipping allowed which is nice!

There was hair all over the tools (tray, shears, combs, etc). I thought, okay, maybe she'll clean it before she uses it, but then she didn't. My mom and I asked her about it but she started to get defensive and said that she did not feel comfortable cutting my hair so we walked out. This was a completely disappointing experience. It was a total waste of our time and $20. It makes me wonder if any of these outstanding reviews are AI generated considering she did not even consider basic hair hygiene.

When we got there we met Lyn and she showed us some styles and my son was off. His dad and I were truly impressed with how fast it was done and the style of the cut was great. We have been taking him to a nearby salon but for now, we're planning on brining him back for his future haircuts. Truly appreciate all their kindness, attentiveness , and efficiency. I also ended up getting an overdue haircut while waiting with Jenny. She was extremely nice and my hair came out great. I haven't hand haircut for over 2 years. It was our first time at this location and we'll definitely be coming back.. I definitely saved both their names on my phone. I truly appreciate Lyn asking in between if the length and style was good before she would proceed to the next step. My son's hair came out awesome! Thank you Lyn !

I normally don't leave Yelp reviews, and this is actually the first time I've ever written one…read morebecause of a hair salon experience. I usually go to another salon that I really like, but the owner had an unexpected situation and I needed to get my hair done, so I decided to try Big Ben for the first time. I saw many positive reviews for Lyn online, so I felt comfortable booking with her. Ben, the owner, also seems like a genuinely nice person. Unfortunately, my actual experience with the service was extremely disappointing. During the bleaching process, Lyn set a timer in front of me. The timer went off, but she did not come back because she was busy cutting another client's hair. I tried making eye contact with her, but she still did not come over. Quite a while later, she finally came back and told me she had been waiting for the shampoo station. I honestly don't understand why my hair needed to continue sitting in bleach while waiting. After the bleach was rinsed out, I could already tell something was very wrong. When I gently ran my fingers through the highlighted sections, a lot of my hair was breaking off. Lyn told me this was because the hair "molecules" were still open before the color was applied. However, even after the entire coloring process was finished, when she was cutting and combing my hair, I continued seeing a significant amount of the highlighted hair breaking off and falling out. The initial color was also completely different from what I wanted. Some sections looked gray/white and made me feel like I suddenly looked ten years older. She tried to adjust the color afterward, but I ended up spending more than six hours at the salon and still did not leave with the result I had asked for. There are also strange bands near my roots with noticeable orange tones instead of a smooth, blended transition. On top of all of this, a large amount of hair dye was left on the back of my white T-shirt, and the stain will not come out. I was honestly shocked that after the severe breakage, the color issues, six-plus hours at the salon, and my damaged shirt, I was still charged $300 for the "service". I understand that highlights and bleach always involve some level of damage, and I'm not expecting hair to remain completely untouched after lightening. But there is a big difference between normal dryness and watching large amounts of your highlighted hair actually break off while it is being combed. If you care a lot about the health of your hair, I would be very cautious about where you choose to have bleaching or highlights done. Unlike a haircut, you cannot simply redo chemical processing a few days later if something goes wrong--the hair has already been compromised and needs time to recover. Unfortunately, I really regret choosing this salon for my hair this time.

I haven't received an actual haircut in 4 years, I finally decided to chop it all off. So I made an appointment with this salon, extremely excited as this haircut was for my birthday. The stylist I wanted wasn't available, so I went with the option my co-workers recommended. Which was Rosario. It was all around a very unpleasant experience. The consultation consisted of an extremely stand-offish vibe & some passive aggressive comments. However I've never been in a salon before, and I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt so I returned for an appointment. During the appointment my proposed idea was declined as it was "unrealistic" for the curl in my hair. Instead we opted for a hair style Rosario suggested. It didn't really seem like Rosario was eager to understand what I wanted to do with my hair. She made several rude remarks such as ; " I'm so done after this client " which she said to another stylist in front of other guests. Doubling down she told me " you clearly don't know what you want". Which left me a little puzzled because from my understanding, if you're doing service work in the beauty industry your job is to understand your clients goals? Throughout the service she made several other passive aggressive remarks, & towards the end of the service when she saw I was unhappy with the results ( which is for my birthday in 4 days ) she told me to come back in two weeks....As an individual who's entering the beauty industry. I would NEVER want to leave a client unhappy , especially someone's who's buying a service from me for their birthday. The one thing I am grateful for is this experience showcasing the qualities of a beauty professional I DO NOT want to possess. This is no means to bash, im simply just sharing my experience so people who are similar to me can be weary. If you're a man, POC, & and or LGBTQ+. I wouldn't personally recommend this stylist. But to each their own!

She's been cutting hair for around 40 years and has worked solely with curls for the past 12.
