LapCats is a wonderful organization. I adopted a kitten on 6/26/21 and had such a great experience. Barbara was incredibly communicative and had great advice in ensuring my new kittens transition into my home with an existing cat. All of the kittens in the facility were sweet and well cared for. The facility was easy to find inside PetSmart and the adoption fees included microchipping and a bag of food and lots of coupons for pet supplies. I would highly recommend LapCats for anyone looking to adopt a pet

Leash and Collar - About to dig in to Jacques' birthday cake from Leash & Collar. They also provided the candle and cake topper.

I specified in my notes that my dog was turning 13. So I wait for the day the cake is due to picked up. Arrived to a very cute, corner shop. Walking in, the store is cozy and covered all my bougie dog needs without having to look too hard. The lady at the counter, turns out was the owner and baker for Leash & Collar. She was kind, friendly, and you could tell she loves her store, what she does, and doggies of all breeds! She made the perfect cake, added a few extra cookies she made just for my dog, and threw in a candle/sign for the top. I turn around and see a super cute hat for myself as well. Simply put, they have earned customers for life. No matter the dog, I will always come back to make each birthday memorable and support a local gem in Sacramento

It's such a cute little shop with really high-quality products and none of that random, overpriced fluff you see elsewhere. Fast forward to the other day, my wife and I made a return trip because our dog was OBSESSED with the bison bone marrow bone and the furry pig ear we picked up last time. The staff was super friendly and helpful again, which always makes a difference. Bonus points because they make little birthday cakes for dogs?? Our dog's "gotcha day" is coming up, so we'll definitely be back for one. Well... he'll be back for one. We're just the ones carrying it to the register.

An Absolute Must-Visit for Sacramento Dog Owners!…read more If you want your furry best friend to live a long, healthy, and happy life, you need to head over to Ben's Barketplace in Midtown (1515 19th St #100). The managers, Decelle and Brie, are absolutely amazing. They don't just sell pet food; they truly educate you on the benefits of what you're feeding your pets. To give you an idea of how much they care: a few years ago, a friend's dog was suffering from severe knee issues. I connected her with Decelle, who recommended a specific holistic diet. Fast forward to today, and that dog is completely free of those knee problems! That kind of expertise is priceless. They walked me through some of the incredible raw and freeze-dried options they carry, and the nutritional benefits are mind-blowing: OC Raw Dog Food & Green Juju Lamb Recipe (Frozen Raw): These are packed with premium, unprocessed proteins, natural enzymes, and organic produce. They are incredible for improving digestion, supporting joint health, and boosting overall immune function. Vital Essentials Salmon Bites: Loaded with natural Omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for reducing inflammation, supporting joint mobility, and giving your pet healthy skin and a shiny coat. Snook's Sweet Potato Dog Chews: A fantastic, natural alternative to rawhide. They are low-fat, highly digestible, and packed with fiber and vitamins to support gut health. Northwest Naturals Beef Heart (Freeze-Dried): A nutrient-dense powerhouse. Beef heart is naturally rich in CoQ10, iron, and B vitamins--perfect for boosting cardiovascular health and energy levels. OC Raw Freeze-Dried Venison Pieces: A super lean, "novel" protein. This is an absolute lifesaver for dogs with common food allergies or sensitive stomachs who still need high-quality muscle support. Beyond the top-tier nutrition, the store is perfectly set up for pet parents. They have an awesome dog wash right on site, and--a huge rare bonus for Midtown--they have plenty of dedicated parking! Whether you're dealing with a specific health issue or just want to optimize your pet's diet, go see Decelle and Brie. Your dog will thank you!

I have a doodle puppy and she's pretty picky and the owner approached me and asked what I was in for and gave me a lot of informative knowledge on my dogs diet and even gave her some freeze dried minnows to try when I said I wasn't sure what she liked. Bri was super informative and showed me multiple products that my puppy could like, she was also super knowledgeable and took the time to fully acknowledge everyone walking in while maintaining conversation with me. It's a woman owned franchised location They offer self service dog washes, and only sell clean ingredient products, she addressed many of the customers by name and overall made me feel super welcome as a first time Customer. She hooked me up with some goodies for my puppy Ruby and even gave me a coupon for a free dog wash which I greatly appreciated! He still knows the commands. We are to set up his Good Citizen course soon--can't wait. We got a good deal for both courses. As far as the store goes, they would get a 2 from a 3 since I have ordered for pick up and they have either given me a wrong item or substituted without informing me. The last time I ordered the ice cream and also some doggy cleaning wipes. When I picked up my order the staff took out my order from the freezer which made sense for ice cream. But the cleaning wipes were frozen and once I thawed it out: there was no using the product since the wipes have dried up more. Lastly, If this was up to pet smart grooming --I would've rated a one star since Vanessa who was young and now seems she's a manager refused to groom My dog claiming he was under medication which he wasn't. I was suggested to use petsmart hemp style treats so that he remains calm which is marketed for said reasons. She stated that's consider sedation and that they have to cancel my appt after waiting over a month. As a healthcare worker and married to a nurse--sedation is different than what Vanessa was stating. Also why would Petsmart sell a product that is specifically meant for calming your pet for grooming--but yet; pets are denied service. In no way shape or form was my dog "sedated". In fact, he was calmer than usual and playful. I find it her service could have been better. But that is why I groom him elsewhere.

I drop them off, and sometimes it takes a while when she is busy, but often, there are other dogs to play with. It is cage free (except for cats), so your dogs need to be dog social. I was aware that my dog had a hotspot on her front leg prior to the appointment, but she has never had a hotspot near her butt before. The owner noted after my initial review that this red irritation could be from an anti-fungal shampoo she used, which I did appreciate honesty about. While it's possible this could be food-related, my experience with other groomers has never resulted in an issue like this. We also brought in our other dog, an Aussie, for grooming on the same day and were very happy with her service. However, given my experience with my retriever mix, I will be taking her elsewhere in the future. I found the professionalism in the owner's texts to me after my initial review aggressive, and this is further leaving me with no desire to return. Initial review prior to revisions: I have a retriever mix that I shave down in the spring. I'm assuming the shaver was hot and it burned my dogs skin. Allie was curious as to whether this was a hotspot from her food. While yes, I do feed my dog the purina pro plan chicken and rice, that is the food our vet recommended she go on. Never once has she had a spot like this on her butt. My bf picked her up so I wasn't there to advocate. I feel bad when my pup came home with this raw spot. I put some hydrocortisone lotion on it and it healed in a day. My pup has never came back from the groomers with open wounds so unfortunately, I won't bring my dog back here. I will take her to pet smart where I can watch the groom from the window. I would've really loved a "it's possible it's food but I may have also nicked her skin." Our other dog went in at the same time and she looks great!!! I just care about this pup so much it broke my heart to see this spot
