The place has plenty of seating and was a tight squeeze but I suppose that's normal to maximize the space. The staff were Lao and as we got seated it continued to get busier! 4/5 Nam kow - I love this wrap and always get it. Very glad I ordered this. 4/5 Ka poon - this is one it must fave dishes and got it with the blood. A must! 1/5 Steamed fish - was disappointed with this as it was not served hot and lacked flavor. I don't recommend. 3/5 Lao sausage - served differently like little meatballs and was good but not spicy like they should be. It was a bit dry. Would come back to try the papaya salad and explore other items!

Portions are smaller than in the states but quality is excellent. Be ready to wait in line!

The secobd time, I had to wait about 10minutes. The wait is well worth it though! I recommend ordering the"menu" that they have. I ordered the 3rd/4th? Menu option (it was the last option). It started with a spicy fish soup, fried shrimps then the main of green curry with beef, fried rice with pork and some chicken. The menu is more than enough to share with 2 people. The fish soup - it was a type of subtle hot where you only notice how spicy it is after half way when your nose is runny. The veggies and fish were delicious. A few sprinkles of coriander Fried shrimp - I do enjoy fried shrimps but this was an excellent fried shrimp. The outside was super crispy with bread crumbs and there was a light soft dough around the shrimp. Mmmm the experience of chewing that... Green curry with beef - It was good green curry but nothing to write home about Chicken - I am not sure what the sauce was. I assume sweet and sour. I was distracted by the other dishes to notice much about this. It was good but not good enough to stand out Fried rice with pork - There were pieces of pork in the fried rice. It had a slight hint of sweet flavor (honey glazed?) But those pieces were mainly salty which made a great balance to the fried rice. I didn't think I would ever rave about fried rice but this place changed my mind To end my lunch meal, I had ordered this "flan" made out of coconut milk with green tea. If you love coconut, I definitely recommend this! It came warmed up. It was soft and coconut-goodness. Heads up, the service isn't great. But you shouldn't be going here for the service but the food. I am happy as long as they don't throw my food

(Hilariously so, since she had a whole lecture about portion control just right before that). Food came out really quick and really seemed like it kept coming out and wasn't going to stop. My favorite dish was a papaya salad. Really light and refreshing. All the food here was really good and authentic.

I was going to walk right on by but the warm inviting decor did just that... It invited me in. And the rest of the evening was just as warm and inviting as the decor. I stuck to seafood and everything was superb. Alfred explained that Laotian cuisine has the same ingredients as Thai cuisine but with a twist. It was like eating my favorite foods at a fusion restaurant. The Tom Yum soup had large shrimps, a thicker broth than I'm used to with Thai food, as well as the familiar mushrooms and veggies. But it tasted different in a very good way. As was the fish entree. Wrapped in bamboo leaves and topped with ginger and curry it was light and very tasty at the same time. I finished the evening with the sticky rice topped with flan and coconut which was a first for me. I look forward to returning soon and experiencing the rest of their menu.

It was traditional Lao cuisine with a French twist, and the food was flavorful, refreshing, and unique. The black sticky rice Dessert with coconut milk and egg yolk was so good. When I first wandered the 13eme, I wasn't very impressed; I saw only a smattering of Asian traiteurs and grocery stores. When I reached Tang Frères (literally, when I turned the corner), my eyes almost fell out of my head. I've NEVER seen such an enormous Asian supermarket. The way that it's arranged is not very intuitive to me (even though I feel like I have a lot of experience wandering around Asian supermarkets); I can't ever seem to find the spices / sauces that I want. There also aren't very many workers walking around, so it's extremely difficult to find help. However, that allows you to wander around and explore all the awesome things that they sell. :D Chives are surprisingly expensive. (I just had to say that :x It's really weird for me). There's a huge variety; I can't overemphasize this. I think you can pretty much find any Vietnamese / Chinese thing you'd need for any sort of cooking. Prices are decent for Paris. Today, I bought a lychee drink, a mangosteen drink, two sets of wonton wrappers, 500g of ground pork, chives, five-spice powder, coconut milk, and tiny tapioca pearls for only 11.20€. Amazing. ALSO! They ground their pork fresh :O It's so cool. I've never seen that. You do need to get a ticket in order to get served by the Boucherie, though. I totally didn't expect this at all and I stood around like an idiot, wondering how people knew it was their turn to get served. I guess it's a new system. It's a little out of the way, but it's totally worth a trip. :)

Odd, but fun to see a large asian grocery store with prices/tags in French and asian languages (chinese, japanese, thai, laotian, etc). (Paris is the capitol of mom/pop mini marts, imho.) It had sriracha that I was looking for to enliven a stirfry and fresh/cheap asian veggies. Their Chinese BBQ chop house was pricey. Half a fresh roast duck was 17euros ($23+/-). Easy to shop, just make sure to bring your own grocery shopping bags. Pas mal- supermarché asiatique dans le quartier chinois? An escape from the richness of food in Paris…read more FOOD RATING : The Shrimp Paste Rice ( 9/10 ) was the winner here, with the various flavors and mix and matching the assorted vegetables and meats. The dried shrimp was a little bit hard, but everything else was great. The Thai Sausages ( 8/10 ) were salty with a little bit of tang, and when eaten with a nibble of ginger and Thai chili, the grease blended so well. The Steamed Fish ( 2.5/10 ) was quite disappointing as there was barely any flavor to the sauce. It was also really pricey (over 20 Euros) for the small amount of fish - which is understandable because it's seafood - but the quality of the dish did not makeup for the high price whatsoever. The Rice Porridge ( 8/10 ) was really comforting and very tasty, and had ginger, fried onions, pork, and green onions in it. Nothing too special, but a tasty broth and great combination of good ingredients. SERVICE : The two servers working were nice and made sure I always had water, and would check up on how the meal was. Nothing too special, but it was pleasant to eat there. DETAILS : This place was a total random hole in the wall I found, but the food absolutely blew my mind. It tasted exactly like food from Thailand, from the sauces down to the exact ingredients they used. If you ever start getting tired from the rich, creamy, buttery food of Paris and crave rice and tang this is a great place to eat at. It's located in a corner of a mall in 13th Arrondissement, the mall being a little difficult to navigate with all it's twists and turns, but definitely worth the effort to find.
