I popped in only 15 minutes before closing, so there wasn't enough time to truly take my time to browse. The prices were reasonable for the unique items from what I saw. He is extremely knowledgeable and honest. He knew Marcel Vogal and most dealers are either lying or being fooled, as very few should be allowed to be called Vogal because there are only 1 or 2 of his original students on the planet. They weren't the 'IBM' guy that copies, Marcel understood energy and it's importance to healing the human, and that was a part of his training. I have bought many unusual pieces from Bill's shop for over a dozen years and each one is special. People try to buy them from me. Bill is definitely a no-nonsense guy, and if he feels like he is being 'used' will be curt. As one guy with a big website selling fake Vogels, he picked his brain and then took his info, some right off his website and used it on his. I don't have a problem if someone says, 'Vogal like', as one honest dealer said, but again last week I went into a crystal shop in Bend, Oregon and the guy was lying to the woman about a Vogal crystal. He was charging a big price. Hopefull the woman that owns the store was just ignorant and not training her people to lie. Bill only knows me by sight, so no, he knows not that I am writing this. If he was better at merchandising, his shop would be the best.

When I asked if they were hand carved by one of a couple original carvers he just said they were the real deal as he had worked with Marcel in the past, which I accepted and proceded to ask if the larger crystals were rare and if they only had a few coming in a year or if they were more common now. I wanted to know because in a previous conversation several months back I was told they were all out of the large vogels and to check back in the spring. Well being summer now I thought I'd find out. Apparently three or four important questions about a crystal costing upwards of $10,000 were to many as I was told that he wouldn't talk with me anymore because I was clearly some sort of shady dealer and not looking for a crystal for myself, despite the fact that I straight up told him that I wasn't a dealer and the purpose of just getting some info for myself prior in the conversation. You know, something a normal person would do before dropping 10 grand. Not only are these guys extremely rude, but accused me of flat out lieing. Impressively negative for a crystal store. Will NEVER shop here, and anyone sensitive to energy especially in crystals I would advise the same.

Cal's is a 25-minute drive for me, and after multiple times driving over during their posted business hours only to find a "Closed for lunch, back at 3" type of sign on the door at 1:00 or 1:30, I will not be trying anymore. Cal's posted business hours are from 10:00am to 5:00pm. 7 hours that they are posted as being open to the public. Nonetheless, they apparently take half or more of those afternoon hours off for a lunch break every day. Not only have I been unable to go inside during their business hours, but I cannot even get through on the phone to find out when (or if) they plan to actually be there. Phone calls during business hours just go to voicemail. It's a shame that the oldest bookstore in the area with the largest, and possibly best selection of books, doesn't appear to be owned by someone who wants to actually work the store. I've been so excited each time to go in, but so far, it's been nothing but a waste of gas and time with each attempt ending in disappointment. How they're financially keeping their doors open at this point is beyond me. They're never available for anyone to buy anything! I've since learned I'm not the only one who has experienced this lately, nor am I the only one who is feeling frustrated by the owner's lack of professionalism. They appear to not even open on some posted business days, and take long, random lunch breaks on others. There have been other cars sitting there for who knows how long, waiting on them to return when I have tried going. Others, like me, see the sign that they are closed for some hours, and leave looking disappointed. I will continue to give the other local bookstores my business, but I will not be wasting any more time or gas driving out to Cal's. Cal's - please update your posted business hours to save people their gas and time of driving over when you have no intention of being there. Either that or maybe just be there when you are advertised as being open.

Well, she's only friendly if you're the "right" kind of customer. As soon as I walked in the door, I felt intense, frosty "I don't like you" vibes. This was followed by not-so-subtle verbal comments of disapproval. "Kay" seems to have a very high opinion of herself, and if you don't meet her standards of appearance, well, be prepared to be publicly humiliated in front of other customers.
