This review is to my visit to the ER at Langley Memorial Hospital. time to be checked in and seen by a clerk was well within a reasonable time then was admitted to the pod three and from there I was assigned a nurse who was fantastic. The ER doctor was very attentive. I received x-rays that were done in a respectful manner and then discharged once everything was in place and reviewed by Dr. and I was given instruction that I would be contacted to come back and to see a specialist a few days after my emergency room experience. read more

This review is for food service in room. These guys definitely know how to make good jello. Ok, I know hospital food is nothing to rave about, but honestly after not eating anything solid for 2 days this was a welcome meal. I got a real kick out of the title of "gourmet" salmon burger... lol. Not that is was bad, but it was actually pretty good considering it was made with a plain burger bun and no sauce. Maybe it was just that I hadn't eaten in a few days but since I'm a yelper I thought it was worth a call out for the great staff and help I received here during a rough time. My experience with booking a lung scan at Langley has been horrible. My requisition went in - in mid March 2026. It was supposed to be a 4 month wait to have the scan done. So that would bring me to July. Because of the incompetence of the booking clerk at Langley who did not even bother to call and book a date until I question why I hadn't heard anything 2 months after the requisition went in. Finally I get a call that I had missed and they left a number to call back. I called it back 12 times no one bothered to answer it always went to some voice mail that must not be monitored I left message after message to call me back to book my appointment. Finally I did call the X ray services (which is not the department that books the kind of scan I was going for) she had me hold and managed to put me through to someone who was able to book it. So because of Langleys "booking clerk" I am stuck waiting another two months so a 6 month wait for a scan that I should have been booked in July for. Whoever is in charge of that department should take a real long hard look at your employees. They could end up killing someone because of their incompetence. Not impressed one bit with Langley or having to wait an extra 2 months due to someone not doing their job. read more

I have to say this Hospital and the Doctors, Nurses, Porters, etc are amazing every time I go here which has been a lot lately with my health and my husbands everyone has been so good. We have been there when it has been extremely busy to moderately busy and are care has not suffered. Our healthcare system needs help. We need more doctors nurses porters nurses aids etc. every one works their butts off and I don't think they get the appreciation they deserve for all they do how overworked and overwhelmed their jobs can be. This hospital no matter how busy they are they treat everyone well. You can tell people like working there. read more

It has been over a year ago (December 25, 2023) that I had a heart attack. I was diagnosed in Langley Emergency and immediately had every test imaginable and was in the ER in a private room. The care from all the Doctors, nurses and staff was excellent. I stayed in Emergency for a few days and then to Cardiac Care until and sent to Royal Columbian Hospital for a Stent procedure and then went back to Langley Hospital to recover overnight. Every step that was taken was professional, caring and remarkable from the amazing Doctors, special care nurses and staff. I am sorry it has taken so long to thank you and how grateful I am to all of you. We are so lucky to have the great hospitals like LMH in BC and Canada. Thank you Thank you Thank You. My sister gets sent to the ER by her doctor for an Ultrasound based on her latest bloodwork. Gets there at 11 am, tells the reception all the details....waits 3 hours. Sees a nurse, repeats all the info and waits 2 hours. 2nd nurse come along and puts in a IV lock....Nurse say prepping for a CT scan, it's better than MRI. Sit around for another 1 1/2 hrs. Doctor shows up and asks why she is there. Repeats the doctors concerns for a 3rd time. He asks her why she has an IV lock. Geez Louise, ask your bloody nurse, doesn't anyone communicate? Dr. says its not an emergency, nurse shouldn't have said will have a CT and shouldn't have put in an IV lock, don't need for CT scan or MRI. After 7 hrs sends her home having done nothing. Oh wait, he scheduled a MRI for Monday or Tuesday. read more

It's horrendous to be left unconscious on and off for hours while no one did anything. Constantly asked for more assistance, medications, anything to help the pain and I got offered Advil only to not receive it hours after asking, appalled at the neglect of patients in the waiting room and can see why people leave before seeing the doctor as their solutions bring no relief and the care isn't helping EMERGENCY SYMPTOMS. So disappointed, I've never had the right answers or treatments when coming here. You feel like you're dying and honestly you're better off dying at home than this shit hole. It was the worst medical experience i've ever seen. Go to delta, white rock, abbotsford, anywhere but here. I've never seen such lack of care for patients and wellbeing of others. Not only did I watch people leave without care, but people were denied basic healthcare. A woman came in having what looked like a seizure and they let her sit there for hours before even asking about what was going on. So many people were sittijg in horror as they treated potential patients so poorly. My poor friend may have had a broken back and they wouldn't even let her lay down on the floor. I did not even want to give this hospital one star! I went to this hospital many times due to pain in my chest and a frozen arm, the doctor I believe his name was DR. lee in the first visit seemed super annoyed with me as I was in much pain and when he asked me to do the stretches he wanted me to do and I was not able to bend my arm the way he wanted he literally told me that I was overreacting. He refused to give me a X-ray on that visit and told me to see a physio. A coupe weeks later while at work I had a brain freeze and could not think properly to talk or knew where I was, my boss being super worried rushed me into this hospital and of course I ended up with Dr. lee again and this time when explaining to him, I kept getting dizzy etc, he proceeded to ask me if I heard voices and that I was making things up and that I needed to go back on my anxiety meds. One I was in full control of my anxiety at that time, that my family doctor actually took me off the pills because I was doing fine, two that is not how you talk to patients and what this doctor did not realize is that I recorded that whole interaction and am now working with a lawyer. Each time I went in there they bullied me into taking needles that contained some kinda pain med and when I asked what it is, as I have lots of bad interactions to meds, they would only say It's for the pain. Well maybe I would not have pain if you actually do your jobs, when I told the doctor that I had a suspected case of thoracic outlet syndrome he then yelled at me and said that only cancer patients get that, which is completely untrue. The worst was that this doctor actually told me that MRIs contain too much radiology, now I am not the smartest person in the world but I do know that MRIs are run by magnets so either this doctor graduated illegally or this hospital is filled with the graduates that were the bottom in their classes. If you need medical care do not go here, fast-forward over a year and turns out I have thoracic outlet syndrome that has caused a neck disorder and bulging vertebrae in my spine due to being neglected for so long. I went ro LMH emergency. The wait was ridiculous! When I was finally seen I first saw a nurse named Ian. He was great to say the least. I was in a bed in the ER for 6 hours and through that time I heard Ian deal with several patients. He was AMAZING with all of them. I was in pain, bored and sick of waiting but I was thrilled to watch and hear how he interacted with each person. Listening to them, and shoqjng continued genuine concern for people, even when they rambled on for ages It!! It was quite remarkable on what I imagine wad a regular day. II am a dia etic and have been to the ER several times. He(Ian)deserves to be recognized. He was amazing and I ca only assume this is his nature and he is always amazing. read more

Waited in the emergency room for 4.5 hrs, still no doctor. 6 patients, 2 nurses and 2 doctors and still no evaluation with severe pain. Left at 4 AM and went to Surrey Memorial and was admitted right away. Worst emergency room in the Lower Mainland by far! Never going back. I'll drive the extra distance to Surrey. Had an MRI arthrogram at Langley Memorial(which I'm not usually a fan of) but today, the radiologist Dr. Vessie and her tech Alissa were fantastic!!!!! So thorough with explaining the arthrogram procedure for shoulder injury using injection and x-ray followed by the MRI. Found them to be very thorough and caring. New MRI facility was beautiful and went well too. read more

Super long line ups , expect to wait 3-5 hours before being seen by a doctor . Registration / Admitting staff really rude , snarly , snappy . It amazes me the kind of staff they have working at hospitals who clearly don't even want to work there . I'd suggest going to Abbotsford hospital they are far better hospital . This review is solely based on the maternity ward. I give them five stars across the board as both of my children were born here. The staff is super awesome from the nurses to the doctors and they are totally professional with how they handle everything. The rooms are very private with one room being a shared room with a neighbor but from what I heard it isn't too bad at all. It's been my family's go-to hospital ever since we've lived in Langley. From my recent experience, staff was helpful and pleasant, although the hospital has not grown with the population. Went from work to the ER at 2 AM with discharge coming out of my eye. Sat in a waiting room with ten or so other people that could've been at risk due to my infection. Took nearly three hours to get a room, and another hour to be seen by an actual doctor. Glad to say that despite this, my infection was healed, and I've still got two working eyes. read more

Showed up with a broken wrist bruised ribs and a tibial ligament tear. Everyone on staff were good listeners, compassionate, and brilliant. Despite the emergency room being packed and the hallways filled with patients, every staff member gave 100% of their attention when it was available to give. I recently waited 1.5 hours to have xrays taken on my knee. I specifically asked the xray technician Are you sure you did all the views I thought there were supposed to be 4 not just two. She replied "oh yes I know what Im doing." Well my specialist just informed me she only took 2 and she should have taken them standing not laying diwn and missed taking those 2 other views & said she clearly didn't read the requisition! read more

This review is for the emergency ward. Was admitted for severe pain, vomiting, fainting and was absolutely terrified as is to be expected after having to call 911 in severe medical distress. The doctor on duty made me feel like an absolute idiot and a waste of time. He told me I was having a panic attack (I've had many and this was not that). 2 days later and I am vomiting blood and he made me feel like such a fool, I'll be driving an extra half hour to go to a hospital that won't make me feel like a liar, to see a doctor that won't laugh at me. Would give 0/5 stars if possible. Maybe try figuring out what's wrong with your patients instead of pumping them up with morphine, and sending them home. read more

Came in ambulance for son and they still have us waiting after two hours. ***UPDATE*** When we finally made it in the back and the doctor finally saw us(5 hours after) we were quite please. The doctors first name was George. I don't want to attempt the last name. He made our son feel better and made us as parents feel better. He spent lots of time with us. My wife was sent to LMH to have a suspected cyst drained.After 5 days of fumbling and miss diagnosis, Langley Memorial Hospital has finally decided they will need to send my Abbottsford hospital for treatment as they couldn't do the procedure.This hospital is a gong show. pick any other hospital, but steer clear of Langley. read more

My wife went in with heart palpitations. She has been waiting for 7 hours and still not been seen. We even came in on via an ambulance. Makes no difference Langley Memorial Hospital sucks.. I will ask our family doctor to see if we can always be sent to any other hospital in the area but this one. They have hit rock bottom and should just close until they get the renovations completed. I just had surgery. The hospital is very old and tacky looking. However the service and care I received from all the nursing staff from Surgical Day care to the OR to recovery and back to Surgical Day was amazing. Everyone was very attentive and caring. I was very impressed with my recent visit to the emergency ward. First impression as I walked in was how clean and nice the new ER looked. I was very lucky that there was an empty space at the reception. I had a fall, and had a very sore foot, was shuffling in using a walker. Once checked in , the triage nurse sent me to bay 3. He arranged for a porter to take me for X-rays in a wheel chair. The porter was friendly and cheerful. She took me to the x ray area, and the technician took me into the room. He was very nice, and gentle while getting my foot into various positions for x rays. I was in pain, and he respected my limitations. Once done, I waited lass than 5 minutes for the same helpful porter to take me back to the area I would eventually wait to see the doctor and get my results. So far I had been in the hospital less than 30 minutes. About another 30 minutes passed and I was called to leave the waiting room and sit in a very comfy recliner to wait to see the doctor. I was seen for a Dr P Lyle, she was efficient and very nice. I had indeed broken a bone in my foot, she arranged for crutches, an air cast. She gave me very clear instructions on my restrictions, and ordered a follow up with a specialist. I was calling my ride to pick me up after being in the hospital with a total time of about 1.5 hours. Every staff member was polite, good at their job and extremely helpful. High compliments to them all. I wish I had all their names to compliment them individually. read more

Terrible! Went to ER with an infection from a tic removal. Painful and spreading. Spent 3.5 hours waiting for a bed in waiting room and then 2.5 hours waiting at the bed. 2 people came after us and went, one with an injured foot that needed x-ray. No one in the entire time even looked at my infection which became painful and spread to a way bigger size. When I went to ask for help none came. I got upset and told a nurse I was leaving. She didn't even bother to check my vitals or double check the infected area before I drove away! Bravo! Went to a better hospital! Beware of that place. read more

Thanks to this hell hole my wife could have died. They completely mismanaged her case and their shortages in staff caused delays in getting an ultra sound a surgeaon to take a look at the situation. Emergency is a mess, our family doctor from across the parking lot is the worst ever and I hope he read ratemds! Let's be honest, a doctor in the country is not likely at the top of his job family. This training facility for the local community college clearly attracts the worst doctors. I guess if you pass with 51% they still call you doctor.... I would suggest that if you want your loved one to have a chance of survival you need to go to a real hospital. Can I actually name doctors on here or could that get me in legal trouble????? I was just recently in the ER for chest pains and I was amazed how quickly I was put through triage and given diagnostics. The staff was AWESOME right from reception , ALL the nurses, Xray staff and the doctor was brilliant. I just moved from Surrey where the service at that hospital is HORRIBLE! and I know having been there many times over 8 years with everything from broken ankles, dislocated shoulder, high fever, abdominal pain ( we are a family of 4) and it was an unpleasant experience every time. If I could give a "no star" review I would. We recently took our aging father in for some care. His first night in the hospital he fell out of bed and was not found for several hours. He was bruised and cold following that first night in the hospital. Was in a significant amount of pain and unable to walk but they found a way to make him pass his physio test and get rid of him without really treating him at all. I had the experience of taking my wife to the emergency last week. It seems normal to wait for hours to get in to be looked at. We started at 2:00PM where she used several chairs together to sleep. She vomitted several times and was in great discomfort. It seems this is standard procedure as there are signs posted advising not to ask wait times. She was finally looked at in the evening where some tests were conducted. The next evening (yes a daylater) it was determined she had appendicitus. By the time the operation was performed (about midnight of the second day) the appendix had burst and contaminated her insides. This week she is still vomitting - I am told due to the medication she now requires to clear up the infections. It is not the people working here that is the problem - it is the system. Don 't blame the staff, blame our government, there is a shortage of staff and they are overworked. Arrived at Langley Memorial Hospital this morning at 9:45 after my son split his ear open from a collision with another boy while playing soccer at LEC. For a Saturday morning the waiting room was sparse with 3 other patients. After walking in with myself carrying my son with blood all over his jersey and side of this face the reception was slow with absolutely zero reaction to a child being brought in with clearly a serious injury. No empathy and NO priority based on the fact it was a child. After 20 minutes in waiting we were moved inside only to wait another HOUR and 45 min at which point I spoke to several nurses stating that we had now been here over 2 hours. Finally a younger doctor came and spoke with us and looked at the injury only to tell me what I already knew, that we would have to just dress the cut and wait to have it looked at by his doctor at BC Children's Hospital, which is where we should have gone in the first place. We literally could have driven to Oak street, had him treated and driven back in less time. I have seen St Paul's emergency churn out more patients on a Friday night than the time it took to have my son looked at. When dealing with a clear and visible injury to a child was the most shocking thing about the experience. Complete lack of empathy. Worst and possibly the only negative hospital experience I have ever had. Brutal. read more

I had the opposite experience. I was kept waiting a mimium of time. I had the best care and attention ever. I was in for ten days and was so well taken care of by everyone from doctors through nurses, techsand orderlies. Can't say enough good things! read more
