This stay was positioned as a "Double Luxury Room" at £170 per night. It wasn't.
At this level, you expect clarity, care, and above all, cleanliness. Instead, the room felt neglected. The rug was visibly dirty. The bedding had stains. The headboard carried a layer of dust that hadn't been touched in some time. There were cobwebs on the bedside counter. We cleaned parts of the room ourselves.
The layout didn't help. A sliding door separated the toilet from the bed, but it didn't seal. Privacy felt like an afterthought. The towel heater was placed directly beside the toilet. It's a small detail, but details are the product. This one was poorly considered.
The room faced the bins. Combined with the overall lack of hygiene, it raises obvious concerns.
Food followed a similar pattern. The squash ravioli worked. The rest didn't. Starters like hummus and olives were overpriced and underwhelming.
The staff were polite and professional. That part was right. But hospitality is not just service. It's standards.
Cleanliness is not a premium feature. It's the baseline.
