Thankfully my husband said let's just go for it and we found Shy 9 months before our wedding. I am so glad we did because if I had waited and she were booked, I would have been devastated. When sifting through videographers we knew we wanted someone who had fun with wedding videos. We didn't want something sappy and cheesy and boy is our highlight far from that! It is edgy, fun, and energetic. Hiring Shy was the best decision we made during wedding planning. I must have sent him over 20 different videos from different videographers, and Terrence's work was the ONLY one he approved of. So I sent an inquiry and began our journey with Terrence and Suzi. They are 100% the BEST in the biz. The communication was always prompt. They had a variety of "experiences" to choose from that allowed us to choose a service that worked with our budget, and they had great add-on options. We went with drone footage, which I highly recommend to anyone getting married. We did an initial Facetime consultation, and then we also had an in-person meeting with Terrence closer to our wedding date. I felt like the entire experience was intimate and personal, and we could feel really confident about who we were working with prior to the big day. On our wedding day, Terrence and Suzi worked seamlessly with our photographer to capture our special day through each medium without getting in each other's way. I can't express how important a video of our wedding day was for me. We had put it on the…read moreback-burner for budget reasons, but as a professional wedding planner I know how quickly the day flies by - I wanted to savor every moment! We wrote our own vows, so that was my biggest area of concern (and I was right - I didn't remember anything he said because I was SO EXCITED to be there!) After finding Mike and expressing to him our budgetary concerns (and the fact that my fiance wasn't 100% sold on the idea of a video) he was very friendly and patient. He gave me a quote, but also gave me time to think about it. When we finally booked, he only took 10% of the cost as a deposit (low compared to other vendors I booked/have worked with in the past) which was a really appreciated. As we got closer to the day, he asked to meet for a one-on-one meeting to go over exactly what we wanted. He was very personable and easy to get along with - he put my fiance at ease about the video and listened to everything we asked for. On the day of the event, he was like a ghost (in a good way). I rarely saw him or his second shooter, but he managed to capture every moment perfectly. He gave us an accurate expectation of when we would have the video after the wedding, but was also polite/friendly when my mom and I emailed/text him to ask when it would be ready leading up to it. However, once I got the contract, I couldn't sign it. Instead of sharing the risk 50/50, that company's contract put 100% of the risk on me. As a lawyer, that told me that the company doesn't even trust their own employees (and probably had problems in the past), and I wasn't comfortable with that. So when I shopped around again, I found Ray. At first, I was a bit concerned that I was only able to find information on him through Wedding Wire. I'm SO GLAD I hired Ray. The trailer we received was breathtaking, and the full video blew me away. I cried watching both of them. There are so many things I missed during my own wedding that I now know about because of the videos, and Ray made all the details look that much better. He and Chester were both very professional, very responsive, and very on top of everything. My wedding was at the Marriott, reception was at the Luxor, and post-reception party at Mandalay. They followed us around and shot a LOT of stuff, and they added their own bit of creativity to all of it. That day was the first time they met my photographer, and they helped her out as well, holding up the lighting for her, etc. There were little glitches along the way with timing, location (it rained last minute and we had to move indoors), but Ray and Chester just went with it. They are consummate professionals and artists, their prices are very reasonable, and I don't hesitate to fully recommend them. Ray is incredible!
