However I have found myself here twice in the past week. The first time was to try to find pruners that can be used standing. While we were not able to find those, sadly, the owner (I think) and his employee went out of their way to see how they could help me. Then, a few days later, I find myself on a mission to find a certain kind of plant food. I had already checked at Home Depot while buying bird seed, but they had not had it come in for over a year and were not sure when it was coming in. I called Walmart, Loews, and two garden stores in the area too. They did not have any in stock either. On a whim I stopped in here again, asked the employee if they had it, he took me to the aisle and there it was!! I scooped up the two boxes they had. This store looks small from the outside, but it is quite large once inside. It is next to and connected to the Schuele Paint Store, more or else on the corner of Summer and Main. Rather than travel to the suburbs, I will go here first now, they are helpful, pleasant, local and easy to get to.

There is basically no signage and it can be hard to figure out where things are, but just ask and the guy at the counter knows where everything is. The staff has been super helpful every time I go in. Maybe a bit over-watchful but honestly I can't blame them for that. There are no lines in the small parking lot and it is not super clear where to park. Maybe anywhere is fine? The aisles are very tight and a bit claustrophobic. This isn't a place where you go and wander around to look at everything and find inspiration... it is a place where you need a thing, then you go and buy that thing and go back home to finish the repairs or project. Gardening stuff, plumbing repairs, painting supplies, butane for lighters, autumn mums, if you need it for your home they probably have it tucked away someplace. Prices are reasonable. Plus it's great to have a local place to buy stuff instead of giving money to the big box stores.

But it's not as smooth as other websites, they want you to call the store with the part number to confirm availability. However this wasn't too bad, the associate Tom pulled the items for me and kept behind the counter. The items were ready for pickup immediately, so it was great to be able to pay in store then be in and out quickly. I also appreciate that I don't feel like they're trying to oversell or upsell on things I could do less expensively. For example, we are redoing our kitchen ourselves (it's an ongoing process if you know what I mean) and we reused the old cabinets because they were in good shape. The old cabinets had doors that were not compatible with hidden hinges unless you wanted to spend an *obscene* amount of money on hinges. The guys at Rockler's walked me through the options and I realized that we just needed new doors. Initially I thought we would make the doors but then that felt a bit overwhelming with all we needed to do. So I decided that we were going to buy doors. Rockler's sells doors. I figured that was perfect. When I went back in to tell the guy helping me that we were going to buy new doors, he told me that the style door we were interested in was actually a very simple one to make. He outlined the process right then and made us feel much more confident about the process. Making doors is really a better option for us because we will save a lot of money that way and we've done some woodworking before - just not cabinet doirs. We stopped in today to get our materials and when I saw that they didn't have any reviews I wanted to add one right away. The service from the sales person could of been better. From getting someone in for measurements to the items coming in were not communicated well at all. Measurements were suppose to be done with 72 hours, this did not happen so I had to call the store twice only to find out the order was placed incorrectly. Had I not called I'd probably still be waiting. When it came time for installation the wrong back storm door was ordered! What is saving this review is the installation crew, Conlee and Dylan. They went over and beyond. They were able to correct the wrong door and get a new one here within minutes. They were professional. Did a great job with the installation. Totally respected the property. They cleaned up during and after the installation Explained everything as they were doing it. Just great service there. The actual store service people were disappointing. The actual doors themself were priced reasonable, and they provided nice discounts.
