We met friends of a friend for lunch here arriving around 10:30 AM so glad we arrived early. Upon entering the whole place is decorated 'Cajun' style, purple and gold and all things Louisiana. Walk down a step over to the back of the restaurant where the food is served cafeteria style. You can get it in a to-go container (highly recommend) or on a platter. We all chose the to-go container because he piled on the so good food!! Smothered ribs, white rice, collard greens, stuffed turkey, shrimp stew, corn, etc. The menu changes depending on the day of the week; we were there on a Thursday. Consensus amongst our group was that ALL food items were delicious. The whole staff was very friendly and helpful, quick to answer all of our many questions. Bring your appetite when visiting, it was hard to decide what to get, we were all happy with our choices. Highly recommend eating here.

The dirty rice stuffing was seasoned heavy and absolutely delicious. The BBQ chicken was falling off the bone and lip smacking good. Sausage? Bold and so flavorful, with a snappy casing. Split peas were sweet and smokey. The staff was friendly, too.

I had a nice tasty eggs double sausage I had the smoked sausage in the sausage patties and some biscuits truck hadn't come in though so they were out of hash browns and gravy buddy though it is what it is was a good breakfast I'm not complaining. if you don't mind waiting a couple extra minutes they got hacked cake still nice fresh pancakes can take a look a little menu board hopefully it came up good when I posted it for you..I will have a separate review with pictures showing the rest of the perimeter of the property along with the different services at the truckstop part it is an old truckstop it's your classic bayou Louisiana style casino in one building fuel building in another. but I had good food I like the little the daily special still looks like a nice place just to come and get an order there's not really a sitting area there's one little tiny table that usually jam-packed also time you got to take your food to go but most people usually do..what I do like those down by the big sign next to the state highway right off Interstate 10 is they got the actual logo for the for the cafe the King of the Road diner the little flags are there to which is kinda makes it kind of cool..

Lafayette yall got a gold mine here. After hearing about this place for years, seeing the reviews…read morefrom big influencers, and my patience wearing thin of not trying this place, I finally got here! We got here not too far after opening. There was a short line and it moved quick. I ordered my items and sat down to hear my name. When I opened the plates I knew I was in the right place. The fish is fried perfectly. The chicken as well though I could have used a little more seasoning. Sides were good. But that turkey wing. My hubs took one bite. Looked at me and smiled. I knew it was on. I don't even really like turkey but I would eat three of those happily for thanksgiving. If you see the turkey wing get it! Can't wait for my next trip back.

They only had a few meats left when we got there and one of them was the stuffed turkey wings, which was highly recommended. It was cool, but nothing like I expected. I thought it would be packed with flavor, but I needed that Louisiana red rooster hot sauce for the extra flavor which I thought would have been marinated in the meat. The star of the show was that okra seafood stew. That was a 10 out of 10 for me! We got the cabbage, but I have never in my life had sweet sugary cabbage. That threw me totally off! My brother loved it and it's definitely an acquired taste. Not for me at all. We had about three hours till closing, and there was a small line so the place does great business and people love it. If I were ever back in Lafayette, I would definitely come back to try something different.
