I was not sure of the style or format particularly, as I was dealing with different generations, ranging in age from 11-77 years old. I know I just wanted to "capture the moment" with the 20 or so people in our group. Harrison was very available by phone and I set up the session calling from Los Angeles. Harrison was very flexible with his timing and had good suggestions regarding the time needed for the shoot. I first met him at my parents house in Phoenix on the day we planned. He was on time and quickly determined the best place for photos. As it turned out, most of our group had already got dressed up for dinner, so it turned into a more formal shoot with posed photos and less random ones. We were able to get all the different sub-groups done and represented, as well as the difficult task of trying to do a large group shot. The photos turned out great! My parents were quite happy with them, as was the rest of the group. I elected to purchase the rights to all the photos so that we could re-distribute them to our group and they could keep as a memory of the event. We had about 140 quality photos in total for about a 75 minute session. The photos were available to us in under a week. He took both color and black and white shots. I think Harrison did an excellent job in capturing the moment without receiving any specific guidance from me as to how it should be done. He was professional and courteous and I would recommend him for events in the Phoenix area.

It was such an unpredictable time and Maia graciously worked with us on all our date changes. We definitely felt that we were more than just "business" to her and that she truly cared for us and our big day. She was both our engagement and wedding photographer and both those times she made me and my husband feel safe, comfortable, and brought out the absolute awesomeness in us! I'm definitely the type who's got a lot of insecurities but she made sure to adjust certain things like my hair, clothes, the angles to get shots that she knew I would be happy with. We searched Yelp and found him with all good reviews which made us decide to go to him for these very important pictures. The results are very disappointing! Jon seems to be a friendly person, except that in the beginning he tried to deny a Yelp deal that we purchased, as he claimed the deal is for family photos only, which was NOT said in the deal description when we purchased. Anyhow he accepted the deal we bought eventually. However, it turned out to be a terrible experience. First of all, his studio is in his house, or maybe more specifically, in his garage. Certainly it is not fun to take a one-hour-photo-shoot at such a place when the temperature is over 100 outside and there is limited air-conditioning in the garage. He had to use a fan trying to make it cooler. But most importantly, his technique is not very impressive at all. My green dress turned out to be blue in my photos! The skin tone of my face in the pictures turned out to be uneven, despite the fact I was put on make-up by professional beauty artist. Also, his so-called touch-ups of the pictures are awful, that he didn't even try to take the shines on my face away! --- As a matter of fact, I don't think those pictures we purchased have been touched up at all! I am not sure if he is good at taking family pictures as other claimed in the reviews, but if you go for professional head-shots, I won't recommend him at all. It will be a total waste of your money and time!
