Before I start this review I want to make it known that a slew of bad reviews have come in over the past few weeks on yelp for Turf Source which has caused the name of the business on yelp to be changed to Landscape Pro. Along with the contact, address, and website details. My review on Google was scrubbed even after meeting the review policies which is why you only see 5 star reviews on that site. Just hoping these reviews stick on yelp and that no one goes through the pain and frustration that we have experienced with Turf Source HTX LLC.
TLDR:
We hired Turf Source HTX LLC and owner Orlando in March 2026 for an outdoor living project. What started as a landscape job turned into a full outdoor patio/kitchen and home siding project. The landscape portion eventually was removed due to no communication or updates after they started the prep work which left our backyard a complete mud pit for 1.5 months before hiring someone else.
More than $11,000 of what we paid went to items that have never been delivered or installed: the outdoor kitchen appliances, the granite countertop, a replacement window and the custom kitchen finish work.
There's about $1,300 in damage his workers did to our home, or services we had to do ourselves, which he said he would fix and never has.
He told us the appliances were ordered in April. In mid September he told us they'd be delivered "next day". Nothing came, and we haven't heard from him since.
From late May to mid-September he made at least 27 promises of work or delivery that didn't happen, including at least 9 times when no one showed up at all.
The full story:
This started as a landscaping and backyard turf quote. While we walked the property with Orlando, we mentioned that our siding was in bad shape. He told us he also does siding and owns a construction company called Construction Source HTX LLC. By the end, the job was a full outdoor home project: landscaping and turf, siding on the whole house, a concrete pad with a patio cover attached to the house, exterior paint, patio tile and an outdoor kitchen. Several of the change orders were initiated by him, not us. Nearly every time he came out, he tried to sell us more work. Today the siding, paint, concrete and most of the patio cover are finished. Still open: the kitchen appliances, granite, the replacement window, the kitchen finish work, and repairs for the damage his crews caused. We paid for every one of those items months ago.
At the start, Orlando was very responsive. Once the patio went up, that changed, and we ended up acting as our own project managers to protect our investment.
Days 1-40: Getting started. Siding removal started right away after giving him $15k . Work then paused while we arranged financing for the larger scope, and it picked back up in mid-April. Spring rain caused real delays. Even so, he kept giving us new dates and then missing them.
Around day 45: Appliances "ordered." We paid in full for the outdoor kitchen appliances. We still don't have them. We asked for a receipt or any proof they had been bought. We asked if we could pick them up ourselves. We never got either.
Days 67-96+: Siding and patio roof. The concrete pad was poured around day 67, and the patio cover went up in late May. The siding was "finishing this week" for weeks and wasn't done until around day 96. During the siding work, nails were driven through our interior sheetrock and into our master shower tile. Paint was sprayed onto the garage hardware, and our security camera ethernet cables were damaged, so I had to cut and splice them myself. The patio roof decking sat for about a week with no weather barrier while storms came through. After one roofer no-show after another, water got through the patio beam and behind our new siding. The shingles didn't go on until more than 45 days later. The whole time, a trash pile sat in our driveway. Getting a dumpster delivered took multiple requests. Once it finally came, no one would load it, so I started hauling debris to it myself.
Around day 126: We dropped the landscaping and turf. He wouldn't give us a turf start date. That's coming from the owner of Turf Source. We pulled all of the landscaping and turf work from him and hired someone else.
Days 126-200: Promises and silence. The kitchen crew was always starting "tomorrow" or "Monday," and they never came. He once went almost a month without texting us. In mid-September I called him over and over until he finally picked up, and suddenly the appliances were coming "tomorrow." They never arrived, and we haven't heard from him since.
Where it stands (day 218). No one has been to our house in over a month. The appliances, granite, window and kitchen finish work are all paid for and still missing. I have had to pull out a separate personal loan to start finishing out this work since he has yet to provide a revised invoice or refund for the unfinished work. Even if you think the work is done right, you won't see them again. read more
