If you are looking for great education, AVOID the PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM. They are extremely bureaucratic, slow to change, and students don't get the best education. The district spends too much money trying to accommodate illegal immigrants and they hire assistant teachers for them instead of using their resources wisely to give the students that are US citizens the best education. If you apply for a job, it can take months to finalize the application process. The Human Resources department is not responsive. They simply don't care. The administrators just work for the paycheck. Aside from the beautiful new building, I cannot imagine a reason why anyone would want to go to this school. The students are overstressed with too much technology and have no physical books. The school knows that the students cannot learn as well without books, but they still don't care to do anything about it. Teachers cannot teach creatively because they have so much administrative work. The school district does not respect employees limits, boundaries, or personal time. it is common for teachers to work, evenings, weekends, holidays, and while on vacation. I cannot recommend this school district to anyone.

The whole system for how children get home -- bus riders, car riders, etc, is *not* change-of-plans-friendly, but I suppose that's the world we live in now. My kids are happy, and engaged. This is a review for the track at the high school. I can't comment on the school, the kids, the…read moreteachers, the buses, the principal or anything else except the track! Which I love! I started running on pavement...didn't know anything different. Didn't realize that running on a track feels so much better on the knees and joints. Plus, it's way easier to do speed work on a track that's already all marked out. The only downsides: there's no water. You HAVE to bring your own hydration. Which really isn't that big of a deal. I mean, what runner doesn't have a camelbak, or a hydration belt, or at least a water bottle? The bigger thing is no bathrooms. I have seen the bathrooms at the track open exactly once, so unless they open them when school starts, do not count on there being anyplace to go! There have been days where there are groups using the track (school athletic groups, I think), so you just have to play nice and give them room. There really is plenty of room, you just have to be aware of what people are doing around you. I love this option to work on my speedwork; it feels better om my legs, plus there's bleachers if you want to incorporate some bleacher work into your running routine as well. Come on out on Tuesdays at 7 pm and see me and my running peeps! We will be there!!

I've been a full time employee, a long term sub, and a sub for a day or two here and there. Pasadena Memorial High School is one of the few schools that I'll regularly work at if I'm available. The staff is friendly and accepting. The students are that I've interacted with have been friendly as well. They have safety as a priority and enforce the rules to make sure that students and staff are in a safe learning/working environment. They have many different sports teams, extracurriculars, and different activities and opportunities for students to excel. They also have a college and career center to help students with dual credit, college, and career opportunities. It's definitely helpful for the students and makes me wish that my school had these kind of programs when I was growing up. I've seen and worked at a lot of schools in Pasadena. This is one of my favorites.

I am a bit shocked by some of the bad reviews on here. We've had our three kids through first class…read morechild development since moving to the area in 2020 and have been nothing short of pleased. The curriculum the kids study is advanced and open. Our children thrive and we know it's nothing short of the wonderful staff and educators. They are always smiling and welcoming, quick to address any concerns immediately! Our family enjoys so many of the extra events the school offers- Christmas around the world was spectacular. We highly recommend this place !
