We just pull up the QR code on the phone for the staff to scan. Then was issued our s'more kits at the entrance and went to the s'mores area to roast our marshmallows. There were several fire pits for this. We also got a small Budweiser tour. We saw plenty of lights. We also got our picture take the Clydesdale. The horses were super calm so petting them was also optional. The popcorns taste great. Definitely recommend the popcorns. There were less people so we got to enjoy the scene and the lights a lot more. We spent about an hour here.

Since the tour was 3 hours were long we felt we should have had one or two bathroom breaks and a place to stop and pick up a hot chocolate or hot tea on a chili evening. In past years this was the normal program for them. Even when we got back to try Taylor's bookstore and oddities it was closed. So the evening would have been much more enjoyable if we had at least one stop along the way and a place to pick up a hot drink. Also you are no longer allowed to go inside of the buildings which is unfortunate but most likely out of their control.

At each stop we were given a history of the stop and a recounting of some of the "Hauntings"'that had occurred. We never got to actually see the spaces where, for example, the sightings appeared. "We don't go in there"'or "we can't go in there"'was a common phrase. The tour could have been at least an hour shorter, since the stories all started to sound the same, given that we didn't actually see any of the interiors of the buildings where things supposedly took place, with one exception ( a tunnel used for hiding escaped slaves using the Underground Railroad ). I wouldn't go again unless they change it up and let the group go inside the buildings or rooms. Way too expensive for an evening walk around downtown Alton.
