I did the Forum in 1998 and again this weekend. Since 1998, the Forum allowed me to create my best moments, achievements and relationships. I can say amazing, freeing, transformational, inspiring, heartwarming and lots of other superlatives. It's all that and more. Not a fan. I went to Landmark Forum about 2 years ago and endured the huge pain of 3 days' listening to this seminar. I finally left on the final day. 1) They use psychological manipulation to make people feel inadequate 2) They preach contradictory concepts. They overly complicate things. Wow. Just wow. I completed the Landmark Forum several years ago, and while I was thoroughly impressed with the course at the time, all I can say is that it keeps getting BETTER! Unlike some "weekend seminars" I have attended, where it's more motivation (clapping and dancing... not my style) than content, Landmark's teachings have had positive impacts on just about every single aspect of my life at this point. First, at the time, I was a motivated but unfulfilled corporate employee. Landmark helped me realize that my fear of being self-determined (and failing) was holding me back, and that enabled me to take steps toward entrepreneurship. Now I run a 7-figure business that I absolutely love, and I'm a job creator! I'm fulfilled and intellectually engaged every day, and while running a business has its ups and downs, I know that I have what most people want, which is the experience of making a real difference with people (my clients). I feel so blessed. Next, romantic relationships. I was always repeating the mistakes of the past, dating the "wrong" guys (I'm sure I was the "wrong" gal for them, too!!!) and being a victim to all of it. Thank god for Landmark helping me remove blinders. Also, friendships. Landmark helped me find the courage (and frankly, the incentive!) to speak openly and honestly with people in my life. I stopped saying, "I'm just the kind of person who only hangs out with guys" and finally found amazing friendships with women. I count on these friendships for so much now, I can't imagine my life without them. And I definitely didn't even do the Forum so I could "make friends" - no way - I didn't even think it was possible for me. I kind of tear up when I think about how important my girlfriends are to me now. Landmark keeps all of its promises. I've read the negative reviews here and all I can say is, you have to do the work. The Forum doesn't "do it to you" - it takes courage to go out and create a brand new life. After all, you're "safe" in the life you have now. But if you're ready for what's next, and you believe that adage about how life happens in the space outside you comfort zone, I can't say enough times: Do the Landmark Forum today. Yes, they do ask you to invite your friends and family to do the course. And sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. It doesn't bother me that they ask. YOU HAVE FREE WILL AND YOU ARE FREE TO SAY NO!!! It makes zero sense to me that you would cost yourself valuable skills like this, and really, say no to a fulfilling and rewarding life that can be created using their technology, because you object to being asked to refer your friends. That's ridiculous. And you know what? I've invited plenty of friends and family to do the course and many of them thank me from the bottom of their hearts. I have to admit, I was very skeptical going into the forum last summer (2010). I went through half of the first day thinking "What the hell am I doing here?". Then I began to understand a little bit of what they started to teach and after the end of the first day, I was excited to see what was in store the second day. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to complete the rest of the forum due to an emergency. But the people at Landmark were very supportive and told me that I can retake the forum again anytime since I already paid. A year passed and my life was going to shit. I was getting drunk/high almost everyday. I was failing/dropping classes and ended up not graduating with the rest of my class. I was on the verge of suicide. Then out of the blue, I suddenly remembered Landmark and decided to give them a call and sign up for their forum in July 29, almost 4 months ago. I have to say, taking the Landmark Forum was the BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE (so far at least!). When you sign up, they ask you what possibility you want to create for yourself by taking the Forum. For me it was "to be an entrepreneur who is able to follow through with ideas that will help millions of people." Through the Forum, not only was I able to gain the courage and discipline needed to pursue my dreams, I also realized that I had been living life believing that I wasn't good enough AND blaming my mom for everything that was going wrong with my life. Landmark helped me to let go of my past and limiting beliefs. Now I am able to have a relationship with my mom, as well as the rest of my family, on a level that I never thought was possible for us. Since taking the Landmark Forum, I've accomplished things that I used to think were impossible for me. -I've been able to wake up at 5am almost every day to study and work out at the gym. This is a big accomplishment for a former procrastinator!! -I got the highest grade in the class on a midterm (again, from a former procrastinator!) -I found an idea that can help millions of people and I'm currently working on getting the prototype made (goal is to start selling the final model by May 2012!) -I'm graduating in two weeks and I already found a full-time job -I quit drinking, smoking pot, and smoking cigarettes. For a college student, quitting all three cold turkey is UNHEARD OF! But I did it! And probably some other stuff that I can't think of right off the top of my head. Landmark has done so much for me and I am forever grateful. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars just because the way sell the program to people can seem very pushy at times and the last time I brought a friend to an info night, he was turned off by the fact that he already told them he didn't have the money to sign up just yet, but they kept pushing him. It's a shame because the courses are life changing and it sucks that their current marketing strategy turns some people off. Regardless of the marketing, I recommend the Landmark Forum and their other programs to anyone who wants to change something in their lives whether it be happiness, finances, relationships, work, etc. Literally ANYTHING you want to change in your life, they can help you with that and then some. I did this course in 2003 because my boss at the time recommended that I check it out. He never steered me wrong and he was always awesome so I just signed up. Never went to an introduction or knew a thing about it. He told me that the experience would be "better than France" which was a bold statement as I had just interned at the CANNES FILM FESTIVAL (which totally changed my life). So here's my review below and I do not and have never worked at Landmark Education. And this review is totally bias because I think everyone should check it out. Also, I have always been pretty outgoing so I kind of didn't realize how shy I was around some stuff. I just was used to it that I didn't notice until I finished the course. MY RESULTS: I got a raise from $10 to 25/hr immediately (which was pretty good for a 22 yr old in 2003--my worked dramatically improved) I got over my shyness/fears around: - dating - leading teams (especially if the people were older than me) - filmmaking - apologizing - going to pee in the public restroom (I wouldn't pee until I was alone...there was much suffering as people tend to walk in and out of public restrooms) - saying no - sticking up for myself - finishing college - asking for what I wanted - wearing a bikini (I always wore jeans to the beach no matter how hot it was) - being smart (I was afraid I wasn't smart enough and also afraid that people would alienate me if I sounded smart...so I acted stupid sometimes...it was weird) - sharing my problems and struggles with friends and especially with family/cousins - smiling at strangers There are so many MORE results and I did that class 11 years ago!!! $475 at time time. Here's my summary if I were to make an advertisement for them (not that they need it): PROBLEM: Most people never reach their personal and professional potential due to invisible barriers. SOLUTION: One weekend. A Socratic Conversation. I did this course 10 years ago because I got laid off from work and I didn't have anything better to do with my time. I came here with an open mind, an open heart, with no expectations whatsoever, upon the recommendation of a friend who did it in Australia. I am glad I did it because it has completely changed my life and my relationships and seriously, I am a much happier person now than I was 10 years ago. I have proceeded to complete the Advanced Curriculum and I also did the Self-Expression. I have also given it as a present to 4 very important people in my life and it has truly changed their lives as well. Last night, another friend of mine and her husband completed the Landmark Forum. As I was sitting there, I was enveloped with gratefulness that I did the whole course. Every single thing that I said I wanted to do in my life, I have done. My 15 year-old daughter just finished the Landmark Forum for Teens and really enjoyed it. I'm not gonna try and sell you on this program. It's not for everyone, but I've been through the basic weekend workshop and many of my friends have had the experience as well. If you are interested in knowing yourself better and in getting more out of your relationships (family, friends etc), and you don't mind spilling your guts to the strangers sitting next to you for about 30 hours (yup), you might just learn more about yourself, your hangups and how to let go of them and see your life from a new and fresh perspective. I just finished my second weekend at landmark and I have been inspired to go live my life with nothing from the past holding me back. I have been getting in my own way my whole life and battling not only an eating disorder but anxiety and depression. Worth every penny!! But this review describes the intention of the people running this forum. I registered for this course last June but some unavoidable reason I had to cancel the course but they refused to refund the money. Finally I did want to attend the forum but they charged 684$ and all went to futile. Edit-After my concern they refund back my whole money!! I'm very excited that I'm doing the Landmark Forum again in San Jose this weekend! Landmark's courses are absolutely amazing. I had a rocky childhood and so started doing personal development things when I was about 16 in order to find some inner peace and happiness. Nothing even comes close to being as effective as Landmark courses. Not therapy, not meditation, not studying psych at the PhD level at a top school (all of which I have done or am still doing.) Regarding the complaints below... I totally get how Landmark comes off to people who either don't have much personal motivation to be there or people who somehow get triggered during a course. Landmark's courses are very powerful in unlocking your habitual ways of thinking and viewing the world. That can be somewhat unnerving, like a deeply personal conversation or a really good therapy session can be. And who wants to be unnerved if they have no personal motivation for that kind of experience?? In other words, don't go if you don't have your own reasons to, and, if you want it to go, expect it to powerfully give you agency over your thoughts and reactions in service of a happier life. As for Landmark's ways of doing business... I'm actually not a big fan of how the business is structured, but that, in no way, stops me from taking Landmark courses. The good news is that they've been looking at how they interact with customers and getting much more aligned to how their customers want and expect to be treated. So nobody should get repeated phone calls any more, and there shouldn't be high pressure to take additional courses while you're at the center. However, progress can be slow, so sometimes that old stuff still seeps through. Suggestion: While at Landmark, if you have carefully considered doing each additional course and are sure you don't want to, say that. Boom. Say no and be on your merry way. And, if they call you to enroll you in additional courses that you know you don't want to take, say that you've considered it and your answer is no and you want them to stop calling. Just to be doubly sure, tell them to take you off of their call list. They will not call you again. As for mind control and cool aid... Just no. Not the case. What else can I say. Bottom line: If there's anything in your life you want to shift -- your happiness, your inner peace, the depth of your personal relationships, the success of your career, your sense of self, of purpose, or of connectedness -- I don't think there's any better way to do it than Landmark. So grab a seat, get to work, and join the 94% of attendees who, like me, say it has made a profound and lasting difference in their lives! read more

I was highly skeptical to enrol in landmark forum. I did lot of research and for 2 years before I decided to give it a try. I always thought to get a great transformation it takes years and years of effort. But I am proved wrong in Forum. The highest transformation could happen in an instant and it did happen on day3 for me. I would only say one thing. JUST DO IT! Make sure you participate in all the exercises they recommend to do. This is a review about the Advance Course mainly b/c I had a very negative experience with the forum leader Susan Eckel and the program manager of Sj Landmark Rey Sanchez where the environment as a whole got hostile and people threatened to walk out in the 3 days due to the unskillfulness of the whole thing. My advice is to do the forum but get some background on who will be leading it as it makes the difference. The participants as a whole are amazing which is what makes the community amazing but sometimes I really question the management. read more

I haven't even gone to my forum yet and I've already had a bad experience. Back in 2017 I went with someone to one of there meetings and I ended up signing up and paying well I got pregnant soon after that and wasn't able to go and never got a refund. Now flash forward to the present the same person who brought me to the meeting some how was able to get me signed up and enrolled again without needing to pay again or pay more. I was suppose to go to the forum tomorrow but I'm starting a new job in a week and I really don't want to leave my son anymore. I called and tried to explain this to them and man have I never felt so forced to do something in my life. If this lady didn't talk to me the way she did maybe I would have worked it out and been able to go tomorrow but boy did she turn me off. Also she made me feel so bad about myself basically telling me that I'm making excuses and that Im wrong and a bad person for not going tomorrow. I mean really you think pressuring people is how to get them to go? She also tried to tell me that me not going is putting them out of money I told her no I paid in 2017 you have my money and she said the money is only good for a year.... last I checked that's not how money works. read more

I haven't even started, but so far it has been a negative experience. I felt so pressured to sign up. I wasn't able to make the next courses because I am involved in a production and was made to be felt like I was making up an excuse. My friend wanted me to do this course and I couldn't afford it and she paid for me. They told me I was able to do a course in May since I couldn't do April (the next course offered). I get signed up...then get a phone call a week later saying there is no May course that they made a mistake. The next one would be in June. Well my younger sister is due in June for her first baby. She is my priority that month because I basically raised her. I need to be there for her. The woman I spoke to gave me a bunch of attitude and once again I was talked down to and was told I was making an excuse. No..I was told I can do May ...May was a free month for me. Then you spring on me that YOU made a mistake and your dates don't work with my schedule. Had I known I wouldn't have signed up. I'm then told there is no July course..but there is an August. As frustrated as I am with the way I have been spoken to and feel like this place just wants to take people's money and doesn't really care about what they get from this course...I agree on the August dates that were given to me. Weeks later I keep getting calls and voicemails. Even tho I had told them emails work best to contact me. I finally get a chance to call back and now I'm told the dates for August have been changed. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? It's a HUGE inconvenience. There was no sympathy from this woman. I have a trip scheduled for education and for fun after which I have had planned since last year. They charged my friends credit card already. They refuse to give me a refund. I don't understand why they can't refund. They caused such a headache already for me. After years and years of reading self help books, seeing counselors to find out how to live a life worth living ( hey, my major was sociology/child development); hands down the best thing I've ever done for myself and my family is spend 3 days/nights with LM. It's not that I hated my life before landmark, I actually loved it; I just felt like there was more to life than partying, going to work, donating to causes and I wanted to see why my friends that recommended LM were super duper amazed even 5 years after taking the forum courses. I'm reviewing LM 1 year after both my husband and I took the course. It has seriously given us the tools to use when we get stuck in certain situations in life. Not only do my hubby and I communicate with each other in the best way possible; my son is going to grow up with two loving parents in a loving environment because we know how to live each moment as though it is our last. I've finally accomplished living my big dreams I never thought was possible but finally found it in me to just do it. It has been super successful and I LOVE my new business. I am also still working part time for the company I've been with for 9 years (which I LOVE) now making 4 times more than I did full time. Landmark gives you tools for life to live a life you absolutely love and has also made me closer to my Mom, Dad, Sis, bro and God. It's something you can't just read in a book and expect to get the same outcome out of it. I can't explain why but you go through so much within the 3 days..it permanently lifts all your excess baggage off...for good. I won't lie..struggles are still part of my life but I've learned to deal with them in a different way...in a good different way. Life is too short to not live the HAPPIEST and most meaningful life. I did the landmark forum when I was 15 years old in a different country. I am now 31. I have made many choices and encounter many possibilities. Some of my choices have not been that empowering and beneficial for me. However, with the training that I received from landmark forum and other courses within landmark, I have been able to create breakthroughs and other possibilities for myself. I highly recommend this course to everyone. All my friends and family have participated in this program and none of them were disappointed or dis-empowered. Be careful! If you feel like something is wrong when you go in, it is because *there is something wrong*. All of the material in this "curriculum" it is super-glued into breaking down your resistance against talking enthusiastically about Landmark to the world. They even make you feel like you are going to loose what you "got out of the landmark forum" if you don't "share it with everyone around you". Landmark is a repackaged continuation of Werner Erhard's "est" - anonymized to shed the scandal in which Erhard's American career ended. The core is still the same - Landmark leaders emulate Erhard's style and tone of voice down to a tee, and his hard "car salesman" sell goes all the way - the further you go in the more extreme it gets. They literally rewrite your mind so in the end you can only do what they think is the way to live life. It's really hard to outsmart this and tell the good from the bad in the case of Landmark. Do some research on-line. There is an interesting French documentary, and a Scandinavian one that unfortunately hasn't been translated yet. My results were: 3-4 weeks of 'euphoria' +- back to normal afterward. Some interesting thoughts contained, but there are other ways of learning about the material of this "curriculum". Wow. This was an amazing course - total game changer. Over a year later, and now I have relationships like I never thought possible, I'm more effective at work, people like being around me more than ever. The most profound thing I got out of this was dealing with my dad's death. I knew that it had affected me big time, but it was over 8 years ago - and I really thought I'd gotten over it. I was 22, and the only legal next of kin when I gave the O.K. to discontinue life support and let him go. I never scattered his ashes - he hadn't left a will or any instructions, so I didn't know what to do with them. So I ended up keeping them through 3 moves, always feeling like a horrible son for not having given him a final resting place. In fact, what I realized after taking this course was that I hadn't made a single important decision since that time, because I felt like I should not make important decisions like that; that making important decisions would kill people or drive them away. The moment I realized that I made that up, I also realized that I already knew what I wanted to do with his ashes. A few days later, A friend and I went down to the coast, to a little secluded spot with a beautiful view, and scattered his ashes. I felt a sense of peace I didn't know I'd lost; and I found an ability to make important decisions without fear. I no longer have any regrets about what happened. And now you're probably wondering why I only gave it four stars. Because there's room for improvement. Yes it changed my life, but four stars because it's a little salesy. They want you to bring your friends and tell everyone you know about it. It made me really uncomfortable at first. After learning what I learned about myself and about communication, and going out and spending time with my friends and family, I kind of saw their point though. I do want my friends and family to do the course, and get what I got. So, while it is uncomfortable, I find it hard to hold it against them too much. And now that I think about it, when someone asks me to do something I don't want to do, it's a lot easier to say no. Stuff just doesn't get to me the way it used to. Okay, long review is long. What I got out of the course was so, so worth my money and time and then some. I thought my life was pretty damn good when I went; I'm on another level now, and I watched 100+ other people get the same kind of results. What else can I say? I participated in the Landmark forum last year after being recommended by my sister. The landmark form promises all participants that they will have "breakthroughs" and life changing experiences. This was not at all my experience. For three days you sit in a room listening to a speaker talk. To save you some time the topics they discuss are being authentic with yourself and others, distinguishing what happened and the story we create about what happened, and finally the conclusion on the third day that life is empty and meaningless. Every day I expressed a concern with the Landmark staff that I felt was not gaining anything from the forum but was always disregarded with the statement, "Don't worry it's a normal reaction it will all make sense on the last day of the forum." The last day of the forum was a long speech about how life is empty and meaningless and people are "meaning making machines" and after all the anticipation for the last day of the forum I was greatly disappointed. Participants of the forum are encouraged to speak and I chose to speak when asked by the forum leader, "What are you afraid of?" I answered honestly and vulnerably but was met with no support or compassion. The forum leader simply suggested that I think further on that subject and moved on to another sharer. I was looking forward to the Landmark Forum because of the great reviews I had heard but that was not at all my experience. Landmark is a waste of time, money, and energy. It exploits people who are vulnerable and I would not recommend this forum to anyone. read more

I've been thrilled with the results I have produced over the past decade at Landmark. In particular, I've become a much stronger leader, able to engage and sustain effective teams vs. being a Lone Ranger.
