I've had my share of individual, couples, and family therapy, and Adrian is one of the best couples…read morecounselors I've had. My new wife and I were lucky to find Adrian, before we got married, to work on communication and conflict resolution. Adrian is an incredible coach: thoughtful, kind, observant, and knowledgeable. Unlike previous marriage counseling experiences, Adrian focuses on a communication process (Imago). Using Imago, he teaches and guides us to resolve conflict, helping us build trust and deep connection. Adrian has guided my wife and me through the Imago process to the point where we can have conversations we'd previously melt down around. More and more, and with Adrian's guidance, we've been able to create safe spaces for each other to help each of us grow, and in the process, we grow so much closer. It's amazing. I've always disliked trying to find a new counselor/therapist. It can be hard to find someone who is great at what they do -and- is a good fit for me as an individual or as part of a couple. Adrian is a gem, and I'm incredibly grateful we chose him out of the list of local therapists. I highly recommend Adrian for couples counseling.

Life is hard! - A lot of healing comes just from being understood. We are all important, even if we don’t always feel that way. So being seen, accepted for who we are, can create the space for us to get clarity, understand, accept, and make choices that lead us to a better path. - For many of us this isn’t quite enough. We need a better, more in depth way of healing that gets to deeper roots - that changes the impact on us of our past, sometimes traumatic experiences. - Enter EMDR therapy. It’s an approach to seeing how we get stuck with negative views about ourselves or the world (I’m not safe. I’m not good enough, and so on). And it’s a way of helping our own brain process past experiences in such a way that they no longer affect us. We use it for trauma and PTSD, but I find it invaluable for a variety of problems, ranging from anxiety to low self-esteem. - Couples Therapy: As a therapist, I help you really listen to each other and feel heard by each other, while also accessing the loving feelings and appreciation that brought you together in the first place. Once we get that going for you in our meetings, I’ll invite you to try it at home, increasingly, ‘till we all know you’ve got this. My goal, like any good therapist, is to get myself out of a job as quickly, but as solidly as possible, so when we’re done it’ll be a happy, successful good-bye.

Twice in recent years I have faced situations in my life in which the path forward was terribly…read moreunclear and seemed impossible for me to figure out. Big things. Both times I met with Helene and explained my situation. She listened and then did an amazing job of challenging some assumptions I didn't even realize I was making, and some dogmatic views I was mired in, as they related to some self-imposed limits that were the real root of my confusion about what to do. Literally within minutes, after she showed me a different way to look at my situation, the confusion melted away and the path forward became so much more clear. There was still work for me to do to get where I wanted to go, but I had new clarity about what it was. It's impossible to fully articulate my respect, admiration, and gratitude for Helene Schneider. I would recommend her without reservation to anyone who is struggling with change, fear, anxiety, stress, or debilitating dogma. She cuts through these things gently but thoroughly. She is truly remarkable at what she does.

It shouldn't have surprised me, but she remembered key details about our work together, more than three decades ago! To me, this indicates not just a keen memory, but an abiding care for her clients. In our most recent work, I have especially appreciated her directness, her warmth and humor, and most of all her questions--Helene asks the smartest, most intuitive questions of any therapist I've had in my 62 years, which has led to deep and valuable personal insights and growth.

I have met with a number of counselors over the years, and David is by far the best one I have had…read more David is sincere, understanding, and a great listener. He makes you feel comfortable engaging in deep conversations with him. He has a strong background working with people. I found him to be quite insightful; he spotted my issues quickly and dove deep into the underlying reasons. The advice he offered was both practical and doable. With some counselors, you have to meet for a couple of sessions before you get any useful guidance. With David, he offered valuable advice during my very first session. Unlike many others, he doesn't hold back just to get you to see him more times. Highly recommend!

No difficulty finding parking. The office is set up nicely with a comfortable couch, very much what I envisioned a therapist office would look like. Couples like us instead of calmly talk to one another; there were a lot of pointing finger and blaming the other person. David meditated and reframe what we were trying to communicate to our partner without the condemnation, anger, and accusation. He taught us tools, gave us homework (exercises) to work on that are so applicable and transferable to our daily lives. He learned about us through the sessions and helped us to see the person we felt in love with. From time to time, we still utilize his service to fine tune these skills to communicate effectively and productively, to really listen and hear the other person, and to try to see from our partner's perspective. While David is great for couples counseling, he is also wonderful for individual counseling. Both my husband and I have benefited from individual counseling with him, specifically my husband as he felt comfortable talking through things with David. My husband was raised in a strict household and as a man, was not taught and encouraged to express his emotions and talk about his feelings. If you are unsure, you dont have much to lose but so much to gain. Thank you David again for being a big part of saving our marriage.
