It was so overpowering that breathing became a challenge, and it was hard to imagine anyone choosing to linger in the retail space. I am a huge advocate for businesses that embrace having animals on site, as it often adds a charming touch to the shopping experience. The cat at Green Acre is indeed beautiful, but unfortunately, its presence has wreaked havoc on the retail space. The unmistakable odor suggests it has chosen the outdoor furniture as its territory, which detracts significantly from the environment--something that management ought to address promptly. Despite this unnerving aspect, I did spot an exquisite Alocasia Zebrina. This find was the shining moment in an otherwise unpleasant visit. Sadly, I didn't venture into their outdoor section, as the state of the houseplant area was disheartening enough. Many of the plants appeared neglected, with signs of overwatering and distress. It was disappointing to see such potential overshadowed by poor maintenance. If this Green Acre location wishes to improve, they could learn a lot from the Green Acres location in Melissa, whose plant manager truly excels. Her expertise and care are evident, and similar attention is needed in Irving to revive their plant offerings and overall customer experience. Overall, I wish I could grant a higher score, but the current conditions make it difficult to recommend Green Acre Nursery until these issues are addressed.

However, following The Great Texas Freeze of 2021, several scorcher summers, and the the removal of several big tree in the last two years, our front yard appeared to a be a post-apocalyptic waste land, a neighborhood eyesore, and far beyond our ability to update and repair ourselves. My wife and I had many ideas but we're not able to transfer our ideas for our yard that would fully meet the look, along with the low environmental impact and minimal maintenance requirements we wanted. In addition to the cosmetic appeal, there were extensive needs for hardscape repair, a redesign and installation for our sprinkler system, and to tackle drainage issues. We were afraid we would need to coordinate efforts and schedules for several different companies to meet this wide variety of needs. However, Grow It Land Designs had the expertise and skill set to provide a one-stop solution and resources to execute this plan to address all of our needs in a manner that wildly exceeded all of our expectations . Skills and knowledge are based expectations for any company you would wish to do business with. Grow It land designs far exceeded all expectations for landscape company, or any organization you would trust to take care of your home. Communication and responses to questions were detailed and timely. All members of the Grow It Land Design team were extremely professional, courteous, and very respectful of our needs. This was a multi week project and throughout the time they were very considerate not only of our daily family routines( including pets !! ) but also very sensitive to any concerns of our neighbors might have regarding possible disruptions during this time. It took 2 calls and 2 emails before I was finally contacted for the injections (March 25). Now, I've called the store, my salesperson and emailed the booking dept checking status on tree trimming. Finally got an email April 13th that says "I do see you purchased it, but it did not populate on my end. I will reach out about the date as soon as I receive that paperwork." It's April 16th and no response or update. I have used another tree trimmer in the past who comes out same day! It's ridiculous at this point. If you're busy at least tell me. Will not use them for maintenance in the future.

The photo wasn't of anything bad or wrong, it was not misleading or a misrepresentation, it was a legitimate photo of the outside area of the location that she says is shared with a landscaping company, tho what landscape company I do not know. The reasoning stated to me was that the landscaping company didn't want the photo of their area published. The photo was of the locations surroundings just as any Google maps search would provide, so it's not anything that can't be seen anyway. It showed their "shared space" which being "shared" still makes it part of this businesses space which serves as sort of a parking area. The rating on this review is based on the point of contact by the owner to manipulate the initial review by requesting removal of a photo that is a true representation of what is surrounding the business, part of their "shared space", this removes what is also a visual to allow others to find this out of the way place that is not on any main road. I don't feel it is appropriate for a business to private message a Yelp member for the sole purpose of manipulating what is on the review.

I only say that to make the point I have been to a lot of nurseries in my day. Covington's is one of the best nurseries I have been to. They have an amazing selection of plants and all of their plants are very healthy and ready for their new homes! Even their half-price greenhouse plants looked great! Their prices were comparable to other local nurseries but selection and service is what Covington's rocks on. I was asked everytime I went to a new section if I needed any assistance. These folks were amazing and I can't wait to come back, even though this place is nowhere near my home!
