I took out a second mortgage HELOC with them on the recommendation of a real estate friend, based on their rates. Their communication is terrible, their policies make even the simplest activities miserably difficult, and their fees are ridiculous. I could relay many stories of the crazy difficulties I had with them, but my last transaction with them sums it up well. Sick of dealing with them I saved up to pay off the loan. First their customer service said I had to wire money to my savings account and then transfer to the loan balance to pay it off. When I pointed out that made no sense and that I'd been making direct payments against the loan for years they said they had to "research" how to pay off the loan. WTF? Finally they emailed me wire instructions which included $49 in fees they would charge including a "satisfaction fee", a "acceptance fee" to receive money from me, and a "recording fee." They literally made me pay them in order to be allowed to pay off my loan! Greedy, confusing and frustrating sum up Summit Credit Union.

And I ask why does the other bank say different. And he says "that's just what that teller wants." I call the Morgan bank back and say customer service says I only need two forms of ID and all of a sudden they change their made up policy to oh now you can bring in two forms of identification.
