My time at Landmark College's Summer Bridge program was a valuable experience, with both positives and areas for improvement. Overall, I would recommend the program for anyone looking to gain strategies for college success. Dining Hall: The food in the dining hall was decent. It may not suit everyone's tastes, but coming from a regular at a local country cafe, it required a bit of adjustment for me. The variety and quality of the meals were acceptable, though it's worth noting that individual preferences may differ. Class Offerings and Academic Support: The Narrowing the Gap class was particularly helpful in preparing us for the academic demands of college. The strategies I learned there played a significant role in helping me achieve an A in a 7-week course this fall that I had dropped the previous year. The writing programs were also a great addition. Although I had already completed college-level writing courses, I found the research and writing exercises to be enjoyable. For those who had not yet started their college writing journey, the program offered valuable techniques and structure. Check-in/Check-out Process: The check-in process was seamless, especially at the Click Center. The interactive orientation and campus tour led by RA Angel were both informative and welcoming. Checkout was just as smooth, with RA Sho and the instructors being very accommodating. They helped us finalize and share our projects early so we could leave ahead of Hurricane Debby, avoiding difficult travel conditions. Campus Staff and Security: The staff, including Thomas, Michael, and others, were extremely helpful throughout my stay. From assisting when my roommate's card broke to handling personal issues that required a room change, they were always available and supportive. Advisor Meetings: One of the best parts of the program was the weekly advisor meetings. Having a counselor to meet with regularly, who had access to all my academic reports and professor feedback, was incredibly helpful. This level of personalized support is a key strength of Landmark. Offerings and Activities: Despite being a condensed summer program, we had access to the full campus, including academic and social buildings. The accommodations were similar to the regular semester, with the only limitation being in housing, as some buildings were reserved for a high school program and visiting adjunct professors. Nevertheless, the experience felt very much like what a regular semester would offer. The weekly shuttles to local restaurants, parks, and beaches, along with game nights hosted by Thomas Kuzma, added a fun social element. He organized events like Minecraft Monday, Mario Kart Tuesday, and Jackbox Thursday, with both in-person and virtual options. Recreation and Common Areas: The open Click Center and workout areas were a great resource to stay active. The common areas were also well set up for socializing, with board games and TV hookups readily available. Areas for Improvement: There were some issues with the residence halls, particularly Frost Hall. The A/C broke shortly after our arrival, making the building uncomfortably hot, and the bathrooms were only cleaned every 2-3 days, which could have been improved. PEERS and Social Programming: The PEERS program and social events had room for improvement. While the activities may have been helpful for some, I found the six meetings during the summer somewhat lacking. The focus was mostly on slideshows, talks, and role-playing, and they explicitly stated the program wasn't designed to foster friendships. As a newcomer, I felt more could have been done to help us form connections. Many of the returning students already had established groups, and newcomers, like myself, found it difficult to break in. More peer mentorship and support could help prevent this isolation. COVID Challenges: The biggest issue during the program was a COVID wave that hit toward the end of the second week and into the third. Although the instructor for the Narrowing the Gap class was prepared to continue the lecture via Teams for those of us who were sick, the dean, Michael, prohibited virtual classes and insisted we be marked absent. Fortunately, the instructor had a flexible attendance policy and did not penalize us for being ill, but this situation could have been handled better by the administration. Final Thoughts: Despite some setbacks, my overall experience at Landmark College's Summer Bridge program was positive. The academic support, advisor meetings, and full access to campus resources made it a worthwhile experience, and I would recommend it to others. read more

If I could give no stars, I would; this is literally one of the worst places that I have ever been to in my entire life. While, yes, Landmark has good intentions with helping students with learning differences, they have no clue how to implement said aide. They treat every student and learning difference as if they are one; and not in a "familial" or "unified" way. I had three horrific experiences while at Landmark that those attending may be interested in. The first was that a girl passed away after taking her medication incorrectly; President Eden responded by not holding a vigil or remembrance for this girl until two students emailed him, insisting that it was wrong and that other students needed a space to grieve. The two others involved sexual misconduct, an issue that I would argue that they encourage. The first happened off-campus. I was nearly raped by a friend of mine, who was also a student at Landmark; admittedly, we had alcohol in our systems, but I still saw it as a problem that Landmark should be aware of. The head of the counseling department told me that it was on me because I had alcohol in my system and that if I didn't want "attention" I shouldn't be drinking. The second sexual misconduct issue happened after I told another student a private story about a previous sexual encounter that I had. Said student went on to create a D&D character about my story and it spread like wildfire that I was the person that this character was based on, within a week all 400 students knew about it. I reported this to Megan, the head of the counseling department, and she told me that if I didn't want things like this to happen, I shouldn't tell my sex stories. While I did acknowledge that I made a mistake in sharing that story, I thought I was telling a trusted friend a private story Instead, I ended up being turned into a sex object and was getting constant offers for sex, requests for sex toys, or condoms. I still get requests to this day, for pictures of myself and to perform sex acts with one of my best friend over the internet. When I have told this to President Eden, he said that it's too bad that I did this and he won't help me with any of it. At my other college, if I reported any concerns, it would be handled immediately; Landmark has had 18 months and NOTHING has been done. This proves the kind of environment that Landmark encourages; an abusive place (mentally, emotionally and sexually) that doesn't give a damn about the people who attend. read more

Landmark College is set on a truly beautiful campus, surrounded by nature and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it a great place to focus and grow. Many staff and faculty are kind, understanding, and genuinely dedicated to their students. The food on campus has improved noticeably, which is a step in the right direction. That said, there are serious areas in need of attention. The housing facilities are outdated and in need of significant renovation. Students deserve safe, modern, and comfortable living spaces. Parking on upper campus is another major issue--there simply aren't enough spots, and those that do exist are too far from buildings. This adds unnecessary daily stress and should be addressed. Unfortunately, not all faculty meet the standard students deserve. Professor Rich Grumbine has repeatedly shown unprofessional behavior. When a friend of mine was comforting a student from his class, both were told they were "overreacting"--a dismissive and inappropriate response to a serious emotional moment. Additionally, this professor has a concerning pattern of accusing minority students of plagiarism at least once per semester. These repeated incidents reflect a harmful dynamic that has no place in a supportive academic setting. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Professor T. Baker is the kind of educator every student dreams of having. He is deeply committed to his students, devoting everything he has to his teaching with sincerity, compassion, and energy. He makes learning engaging and inclusive, and takes the time to connect personally with students in a way that truly matters. Despite all this, his incredible work often goes unrecognized by the college--which is a shame, because he is the kind of professor who changes lives. You won't find a more dedicated or inspiring instructor at Landmark. In summary, Landmark College has the foundation to be a fantastic institution. But it needs to take a hard look at its housing, infrastructure, faculty oversight, and recognition of truly excellent educators. Until these issues are addressed, it remains a decent college with the potential for much more. read more

So where to begin with this college? So education wise this college is great, but everything else is shit. The Title 9 coordinator Michael Luciani is a joke, he doesn't do his job and prefers to brush SA accusations under the rug. Res Life team meaning RA's, RD's, and The head of ResLife are lap dogs for the title 9 coordinator. Reslife treats every student like middle schoolers and are very invasive in students life's when they really shouldn't be. Also their reports fall on deaf ears a lot of the time, I would know I used to be an RA a few semesters before I graduated. Student body is toxic as a whole. Most notably there is someone who goes by name of code purple who likes to stalk guys and write creepy fiction about them. And another girl who sleeps with half the guys on campus and accuses them of SA or other things if she gets rejected. And their two guys who are real prices of shit. One who messages people asking if they would be friends with a nazi, and another who is a creep to girls, and thinks its a smart idea to sell lean with his friends outside of areas like the dining hall and campus safety to RA's and other students. The dining hall food will most likely give you food poisoning. Campus safety are some of their biggest jokes on campus. On top of being push overs for the tile 9 coordinator, they can not conduct investigations in any proper way. if you are possibly involved in an investigation I urge you not to answer questions because they lie and make assumptions with no physical proof. Also if there was ever an Active shooter I have no faith in campus safety to be able to protect the student body. They are unarmed and are discount mall cops who have no legal power at all. read more

$50,000 a year is ALOT of money especially to spend a landmark degree which any company on wall street or silicon valley will laugh at because this school has a 90% acceptance rate yet your paying a BIG tuition as if it were Stanford or Harvard which can actually recoup the $200,000 you'll spend here over four years. I sent my kid here and all he did was get forced into living in dorm rooms with drug addicts and guys who couldn't stop playing warcraft and forced into going to classes which gave him nothing he could use for an actual career. All the parents and students eventually find out that none of the students go on to be successful or make any money the entire program is as scam i would of been better off sending my kid to community college, saving all that money and making sure he stays away drugs. The school is in the middle of nowhere too so all the students do for fun is get blackout drunk and get high. After reading this if you still send your child to landmark you can't say i didn't warn you lol. read more

I am surprised this place is even considered a college, it feels like an insane asylum. You learn absolutely nothing about executive functioning, the classes are for literal 4 year olds, and the staff and administration are complete toxic power hungry monsters. I think this place should be investigated for false advertising. They did not help you with learning to do laundry, strategies to wake up, or homework strategies (in fact, they actually kick you out of the library if you need help because they don't have enough people!) You are essentially paying for prison at this place, and it is one of the most expensive 'colleges' in the entire nation, even more expensive than Princeton! The male population here was intolerable and predatory, male students on the spectrum could get away with sexual harassment and assault all under the guise of them 'not knowing better' rather than them having a complete disregard for women's autonomy and safety. While here I felt regularly unsafe and undermined, I felt afraid to leave my room at certain times because of the stories regaled by senior female classmates and also my own personal experiences. While attending Landmark my mental health declined because of the bare-bones support for people suffering from mental health issues, and also the two sexual assaults I endured over the course of my two semesters. If I were to give a female student with an LD seeking to attend landmark advice, I would tell her to RUN. No school is worth this amount of sexism. read more

Its a scam first off 90% of kids at this college are here not because they have a learning disability its because they spend all their time doing hardcore drugs and drinking instead of studying. So if you want your child to get a jump start binge drinking and pill popping this is the best opportunity you'll find. Plus its in the middle of nowhere so if your kid is clean they'll come home having snorted or smoked something they shouldn't have for the first time out of pure boredom. I would have nothing bad to say about landmark college. Except a while back in October I had attended and found out during the whole first semester this college I wouldn't waste your money on it especially if your female in regards to women's rights some of the male professors do not tolerate female students very much And some of the material is really gross. Do not take the acting class I don't recommend it. My mother told me I had one professor well-read like Belle would from beauty and the beast.
