I went here. Honestly, the students here are the meanest people I ever dealt with. "Performative cruelty" was common and I was a popular target for it. I was older, noticeably different, not the best looking guy. I let it bounce off me as much as I could. Professors seemed to support it. I was basically iced out when I never hurt anyone or did anything to deserve it. The culture made me feel unsafe and uncomfortable. I kept my earbuds in everywhere to block it all out. Professors are ableist despite being "liberal". They'll make your disability a defining characteristic. They think people with disabilities don't belong in college. I honestly believe people like that don't deserve a job teaching anything but whatever. Zero stars. read more

Suffice it to say that my daughter had a wonderful time at Keene, graduated in 3 1/2 years and now has a great job in a growing industry and loves her work. Keene State College - The stage is set. - Colleges & Universities Near Me - Keene, New Hampshire

In Keene there is a very nice municipal golf course center. I think they have 36, or 54 holes. Just east of Keene, in the town of Jaffrey, is Shattuck GC. It has a slope of 145 and is quite a test of golf. As for Keene State College, a niece graduated from there, and then got a masters from some college in Boston. They have sime nice restaurants in Keene too. So, all in all, Ihavea favorable impression of Keene. read more

I'm in my Senior year at Keene State now, and I'm very happy with the time I've had here. Initially I was skeptical about this place. I wasn't sure I fit in, being a big city girl thrust into the "backwoods" (how I saw Keene at the time - not how I see it now). I've studied Film Production here, and it's now the 2nd largest major (behind Teaching). I've seen the Film program evolve from the basement up (literally). The film offices and some of the classrooms used to be located down in the basement of one of the buildings. Not anymore! We have a brand-spanking-new Media Arts Center! Now we're in the bigtime, folks. Living the dream. Our facilities for film are great, and I think they're only going to get bigger. The reason I give Keene State 4 stars and not 5 is because of the management people. They make some crappy decisions occasionally (like letting one of the BEST film faculty members go... I won't go into details, but the college did a stupid thing). But for the most part, they do a good job though. They spend our tuition money wisely. You can see a lot of your tuition money at work here, which is nice! They are constantly building new buildings, refurbishing old ones, and the grounds are always well-landscaped. I'm proud to show my campus off to visitors! Keene State is a good value for your money, it's a beautiful school, and Keene is a very nice town. It's small enough to feel like you're a part of a community, but not too small. I'm glad I went here, got a good education, and didn't spend a fortune! I will be leaving college with NO loans to pay off, and if I went basically anywhere else, I couldn't say that! read more

I am a graduate of the college from decades past. I have met my best friends in my life at the college. It's known for its Safety and Education Majors, which I would highly recommend. The size of the campus, and the size of the college makes in a very unique experience where you have one to one interaction with other student and the faculty. It's about 4000 plus students. In the Fall it's a beautiful Region, and nearby Mount Monadnock is a easy climb, with an inspiring vista. In the winter there are ski mountains are close by, I have skied OKEMO mountain when I went to college, it's a close drive. With a recent trip back, I have witnessed the evolution from when I attended there till now, and can report that numerous improvements have be made to make the campus a more modern facility. It is a lot nicer with more dorm rooms, a large Student Union and well designed dining Commons. The charming town of Keene with one of the widest main streets in America is an added bonus. Brattleboro VT another interesting New England town is close by. Overall I highly recommend this college, which has students from CT, NH, and nearby Mass. My friends have achieved success in life, in many areas, all with a Keene State education. read more

I love Keene State! I spent five years at this lovely place! The area is gorgeous and the school itself is pretty damn good. I suggest taking some Women's Studies classes and English courses while you're there. It will change your perspective on life! The town of Keene is great and beautiful for a small college town. The first few years, I never really left campus too much. As I got older, I found a life outside of campus in the lovely little town of Keene. There are so many amazing place to go and see and do and eat and drink! I would suggest this school to almost anyone looking for a good education and a beautiful setting! read more

seems like the library encourages yelling...the staff not only doesn't stop loud people; they set the example to be loud, then look at you as the bad guy for thinking a library is suppose to be quiet, it is very echoey too.. in short.. thy need to fire the staff and get some that undertsnad what i library is.
