The middle school is so impressive…read more I'm blown away everyday at how attentive the teachers and administrators are with the kids. My son has flourished here. He rides the bus to and from school everyday. They have a great system with stops all over the city. Their bus drivers are some of the safest in the country winning multiple awards over the years. It is also a very diverse learning environment earning an A+ on the Niche website. If you're considering private school in the Atlanta area you have much to choose from. I highly recommend Woodward Academy. Call for a tour! UPDATE: We're quarter into the school year of my sons 9th grade. EVEN BETTER THAN MIDDLE SCHOOL! He absolutely loves his school and teachers. They have so much time to finish assignments during the day. I see why Woodward grads are so ready for College. They learn time management early! Love love LOVE this school. (Wish I could've gone here!)

Woodward Academy Lower School (4-6 grades) is not the place to send your child. The administration…read moreis nice, until you complain about the bullying or a teacher. When you complain Mrs Bragg quickly becomes rude and dismissive. They won't honor simple requests like classroom changes or any other suggestions, regardless of the situation. The counselors shouldn't counsel a trash can, definitely not a child. Mrs Lauchlan is pretty good at accomplishing nothing. Mr Lawrence isn't certified and he has the maturity level of a 6th grader. Bottom line: Look at the test scores compared to other private schools. The kids complain about the lunch. The co-curricular and athletic options are good. Your kid will be bullied. Your kids will receive a public school education with perks. Don't waste your money.

The learning and experiences he got when in person started again was incredible. He thrived in academics and quickly developed his skills in orchestras. This school set him up for such success in high school and will graduate with a GPA of well over 4.0 and being on multiple state championship teams. Thank you FRMS!

My son had a very traumatic experience at this school- a parent's nightmare for a middle schooler…read more His mental health declined due to his experiences at this school. Intimidation, fear, physical assault, and bully tactics caused him unimaginable anxiety and trauma....all which has been thoroughly documented via medical records. Our experience with the teachers, on a whole, were positive however the administrative staff at Flat Rock and some of the administrative staff at the district level ignored serious complaints about bullying/harassment and violation of my son's 504 requirements. This school and DISTRICT refused to acknowledge and remediate a dire need situation to ensure a healthy learning environment for my son; thus leaving my family with no option other than removing him from Fayette Public School District immediately; which is very unfortunate because we are now paying for private school. Decisions were and still are politically motivated and the goal is to "keep the record clean" for Fayette County School District. It's difficult to penetrate to the top, and even then, the web of district connections often interfere with unbiased decision making. Parents (especially those with neuro-atypical learners) PLEASE MONITOR YOUR CHILD'S MENTAL HEALTH and speak out immediately if something is not right.

My daughter went here for here first grade year. Her teacher was lazy. I notice the homework she…read morewas giving were from previous school years (pre-dated). Which isn't really a problem, but my daughter was getting monthly homework packets. Yes she got homework once a month and it was suppose to last the whole month. Everytime I sat and did homework with her my homework didn't seem to know majority of the things on there and my child is VERY SMART. The problems look like 3rd and 4th grade work I felt like I had homework but. And how I know for a fact that she was giving homework that was stowed away is because when I asked my daughter "is this what you did in class today" and she would say no. Now I'm not a teacher and won't tell you how to do your job, but I'm almost positive that what's on the curriculum for the day is usually what you get homework on. And I've never meet a 1st grade teacher who gives a month worth of hw to their students. Yes I confront her about and still no changes. Thank God there's only 2 more days of school. Also her school but was NEVER on time or sometimes didn't come AT ALL. Very inconvenient for working parents. And last but not least I'm all for fun buy education is first in my house! The school had way too many extra activities that didn't involve education and always expected the parents to fund. I just think teachers there need to reevaluate what's required to be on the curriculum and they need a whole new PTA committee. I would love do it but I run a business and I don't have the time.

I just walked my daughter to this school for the last time *tear drop* #LastDayOfSchool…read more She attended this school for only her 5th grade year. Overall I liked this school the teachers that my daughter had did extremely well. I was a little worried by this being a predominately black school. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It's always good thing to have a mixed crowd for some diversity. The school did have a little bit of an issue early this year with the assistant principle (you can google that) but it didn't effect anything with the students. I asked for a stronger teacher when I enrolled my daughter and they defiantly gave me that. Ms. Young was so good with my daughter and I appreciate teachers who have a general interest in your child and wants them to succeed. I wish duplicate her and have her as my daughters teacher until she graduates. I am a very involved parent and I could really see a lot of parents aren't. My daughter always had stories about little fights that happened and other behavior issues that she saw on some days. I don't blame the school at all. Parents should address that for the most part (my opinion). This school automatically gets free breakfast & lunch so no need to send money or fill out hardship forms if you usually do. The school is fairly new. Always clean (inside and outside) I've never seen any issues there or any strange smells.
