The outfield grass is thick and cut to proper length unlike the rock pit I played on when I was a kid growing up in Flint. Infield is nicely groomed and being well maintained where you can tell it is being dragged on a regular basis. The one negative though is that it appears to be a crushed stone field versus dirt. This is OK for the young kids but I can see it being a bit more problematic with older teens where hard hit line shots can leave you being a bit gun shy about bad bounces when it hits one of the small stones. A bit of personal preference here on my part where a well maintained dirt infield or a combination of groomed grass/dirt would definately be better. Last thing to note about the fields are that the player benches are located outside of the diamond behind the fence. The positive is the kids are protected by line drives but the negative is there is no separation between the players and their parents allowing them to co-mingle with the players which is a definite distraction during the game and a little bit of an annoyance to the coaches. Aside from the ball diamonds there would also appear to be a concession building with bathrooms which is a big positive. The concession building was not open during my grandsons game and not sure if this is normal or a result of the Covid virus safety pre-cautions. In any event definately better than many of the parks that are lacking this type of infra-structure. Overall a nice facility where it actually makes you feel good when you see some of the better things that our tax dollars are paying for relative to family/community activities. Facilities like this were not available where I grew up and I am very pleased as both a tax payer and long time Oakland county resident to see Oakland county incorporate this into their annual budgets. Nice job Oakland/Springfield!

Lake Nepessing Golfland Review: Under New Ownership…read more -------------- I can't recommend Lake Nepessing Golfland for club repairs. I brought in my Adams 3-wood for a repair. (Reattach the club head). It had a brand-new grip that matched the rest of my set. When I picked it up, the grip had been replaced with a "torn up used" TaylorMade grip, and the club had been fitted with a TaylorMade shaft. If those were the only available parts, I would have appreciated a phone call before the work was done. Instead, I got back a club that no longer matches my set or feels like the club I dropped off. I'm disappointed with the lack of communication and wouldn't trust them with my clubs again. Update: I went back to speak with the owner and asked for my original Adams shaft back so I could have another shop restore my club correctly. He was able to retrieve it, but insisted they couldn't have reused my original grip. I explained that my issue was never about using a different part if it was absolutely necessary. (It was not necessary) My issue was that no one bothered to call me before replacing major components. I brought my club in to have the club head reattached. I did not authorize my Adams 3-wood to be rebuilt with a TaylorMade flex shaft and a used TaylorMade grip. Instead of taking responsibility, the owner repeatedly told me he was "just doing what he was told" and that another employee told him to "get it as close as possible." As the owner, I expected accountability, not excuses. The conversation then became outright disrespectful. He looked at me and said, "I don't know what you're saying, lady," before dismissing my concerns by saying my clubs were "a cheap box set." That was incredibly insulting. Being a woman doesn't mean I don't understand my equipment. I know exactly how my clubs are supposed to feel. I know the weight, balance, shaft characteristics, and swing tempo of my matching set because they're the clubs I've played with. Whether they cost $300 or $3,000 is irrelevant. They were my clubs, and no one has the right to decide that "close enough" is acceptable without asking me first. To make matters worse, when I first picked the club up I was quoted about $120. After I questioned the price and said I'd think about it, I was suddenly told it would be $60 if I took it that day. That inconsistency only reinforced my lack of confidence in how this business operates. I left feeling dismissed, talked down to, and with a club that was no longer the one I entrusted them to repair. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Lake Nepessing Golfland

Miles of paved trails that wind through the woods and park,…read morebasketball courts, volleyball courts, a huge playscape, picnic tables, rentable pavilions, clean bathrooms, a skateboard park, sledding hill, baseball/softball diamonds, and additional small playground equipment. You can geocache or hunt Pokémon, walk your dog, or jog your stroller. The Davison police roll through regularly, and people are friendly and polite. There's no cost to use the park, and the pavilion rental is reasonable. If you feel like paying the fee, you can walk into Lake Callis next door. Or you can pass that and take additional trails throughout greater Davison or to the free Davison Dog Park. This is definitely worth a day to explore!
