This appointment had been scheduled approximately six months in advance. Historically, this office, like nearly every medical and dental practice I have encountered, sends appointment reminders several days before an appointment and often additional reminders closer to the date. Instead, I received a text message reminder at 8:01 a.m. for an 8:00 a.m. appointment. Having not yet checked my phone that morning, I was completely unaware of the appointment. At 8:11 a.m., I received a phone call asking where I was. The tone of that call was far from pleasant. When I questioned why I had not received the usual advance reminder, I was told that I had been reminded that morning by text message. Regardless of my frustration, I immediately stopped what I was doing and rushed to the office in an effort to keep the appointment. Upon arrival, I showed the staff that the reminder had been delivered after the appointment was already supposed to have begun. Rather than acknowledging the issue, I was told that I was "an adult" and should not need a reminder. I found this response unnecessarily rude and dismissive. Whether a patient needs a reminder is irrelevant; the fact remains that the office's normal reminder process was not followed. I also inquired about the length of my appointment because I had previously contacted the office on September 2, 2026, after my new insurance became active. During that call, I requested an appointment with the dentist, specifically asking whether Friday appointments were available. I was told that the dentist did not work on Fridays and that someone would call me back. I did receive a return call, but no voicemail was left, and I had not yet had an opportunity to follow up. When I relayed this conversation to the receptionist, I was told that it did not "sound like a conversation they would have had." Rather than attempting to understand the situation, my account was essentially dismissed. At that point, Dr. Washburn was called to the front. He approached me and asked, "You wanted to see me?" My response was that I simply wanted to keep the appointment I had scheduled six months earlier. However, I also felt he should be aware that sending a reminder after an appointment is scheduled to begin is ineffective, and that the attitude I encountered from staff was inappropriate. Patients should be allowed to express dissatisfaction when standard office procedures are not followed without being treated as though they are the problem. To my surprise, instead of addressing my concerns, I was immediately dismissed from the practice and denied the appointment that I had rushed to attend. As someone who has worked in medical administration and medical billing for more than 20 years, I have interacted with countless healthcare practices. I can honestly say that this was one of the most unprofessional patient interactions I have ever experienced. What makes this situation even more frustrating is that I remained loyal to this practice during a lengthy staffing shortage. When the office was unable to retain a dental hygienist and my cleaning was delayed by approximately six months, I chose to be patient and understanding. I accepted the inconvenience and continued to support the practice. Now, after waiting again for a long-overdue cleaning, I have been dismissed as a patient simply for expressing concerns about a missed reminder and the manner in which I was treated. I believe patients deserve to be treated with respect, particularly when they are making a sincere effort to keep appointments and communicate concerns in good faith. I've been going to this dentist for years. They schedule your next appointment six months out and then don't send you a reminder text or email as a courtesy. They called me on the day that I missed my last appointment and I apologized and rescheduled for a couple of days later because I was already at work. A couple of days after the appointment I attended they sent me a bill with a $50 no-show fee added. When I called to dispute it they said, "well you signed the form acknowledging that it was your responsibility to remember the appointment." I said OK and paid the bill. I'll never go back to this dentist again. After years of loyalty, this is how they treat their customers? Wildly unacceptable. For the price of $50 they gave up thousands of dollars in future revenue. And I'll make it a point to tell everybody I know to never to go to this place. Enjoy your 50 bucks doc. read more

Went there but had to stop cause the front office ladies can never get the insurance right.. they call me and my husband demanding us to contact our own insurance for them! It's like we are doing their job! We never had any issues with our last dental office with our insurance! We love the dentist and his assistant but the front office people need to do a better job! read more

He delegates much of his work to his dental assistants. Every time I visited within three months, the staff was different, except for Dentist and one front desk person. At my last cleaning, the hygienist found a broken tooth and delighted in shooting air into it which caused pain. Had no idea it was broken because I NEVER had any pain until then. I will nit return. Have since found a wonderful, caring, knowledgeable, and highly capable dentist. read more

Newly back to Pensacola after 20 years away. My wife found Dr. Washburn's office. We couldn't be more pleased. He's great, and so is everyone that works at his practice. Just had my second appointment/check up on Valentine's Day, 2023. I won't be going anywhere else as long as he's still practicing. read more

I found Dr Washburn via Yelp and FB reviews when I had an urgent need and happened to be 7 hours from Pensacola. I called this morning as I was frantically trying to drive home and the very kind receptionist (can't remember her name ) was able to get me seen today. I have significant dental anxiety and am terribly embarrassed by how childish I can act. I could not have had a better experience. The receptionist was fabulous and quickly tried to assuage my fears. Caren, dental assistant extraordinare, was warm, compassionate, and so very kind. Dr Washburn quickly assured me he treats patients, not conditions, and it's okay for me to be wherever I happened to be. He was gentle while performing a thorough exam and while executing care. He involved me in the development of a care plan and I actually look forward to returning to see him and his team. He is the best dentist I've encountered. The Office Staff female was most rude, uncooperative, and unwilling to work with me on resolving my issue. I had canceled an appointment and specifically asked the person on the other end that I would no be charged their 50 dollar fee and the response was "You will NOT be charged since you cancelled prior to your appointment. Something unexpectedly occurred at work so I was unable to attend that day. Well several months later, I received a bill for the 50 dollars. So, I called them again on 02/23/2021 to cancel my appointment for 02/24/2021 unless they would resolve this issue. She would not. I had been coming there for years on schedule for regular checkups but I guess they don't care to loose more patients. On another note, If you need a crown replaced and you show up to your cleaning with your crown in your hand, they will not fix it but rather make you wait for several months for an opening to just cement the crown back on. Really? I would not recommend you use this Dentist for your dental care needs. read more
