The sweetest boy, Matthew. If I had room, I'd take him home.

This is my second experience with a cat cafe and I really enjoyed it! The cafe area was very cozy, and I really enjoyed my "lavender menace" latte. The cats were all lovely. I loved that there were different rooms to spread people out so everyone could have space to sit and enjoy some kitties. My only request is that they begin with the "instructions" a little earlier so we could have the full hour to be with the cats! I look forward to visiting again soon!

I am so excited that this little cafe has opened! They worked diligently to create a community space where you can enjoy coffee or tea with baked goods, and they have a separate area where you can visit with cats! The lanCATster Cat Cafe is situated on a beautiful street at the edge of downtown Lancaster. They are in a twin house converted to its present use on a block that has a mix of residential and retail/office converted houses. Think law offices, a home health agency, etc. The cafe is Cody, with a few tables, and the ordering counter. They feature only Kitty Town Coffees & Teas, which also supports cat rescue. The coffe master was friendly and funny, they were ven pointed out which cat was theirs on the wall mural, which was cool. NOTE: you must reserve a time in advance to visit the kitties, and they said weekends sell out quickly, so plan ahead. They have one fully enclosed plexiglass and wood shelf above the entrance to the cat rooms, where one cat was happily snoozing. I ordered a Moroccan mint iced tea, which was wonderfully refreshing. Parking is on the street. It is free on Sundays and on other days is mobile metered. This will be a regular stop when we're in Lancaster.

The cutest sleepy kitten + fantastic coffee!

I had never been to a cat cafe before so this was a first experience for me. Honestly, I'm in love. Even if we were just stopping in for a coffee, it would be worth it because my latte was outstanding, but we did have reservations to see the resident cats and they did not disappoint. The space the cats have to roam and play is extremely impressive; as a shelter volunteer back home, I wish all cats would be able to have this experience while waiting to be adopted. Everything is clean and the cats are obviously well cared for. Everyone we met working there was so friendly and cool. Adding to one of our favorite places and will be back soon!

Nice staff, good drinks, cute cats. What more could you ask for? Make sure you see Queen Heather the permanent resident sassy cat!

My family got a kitten, but just when he was about the right age to be neutered my husband lost his…read morejob and I got pregnant. By the time we were financially able to think about getting him fixed again we had a new baby in the house and had completely forgotten about it. A few weeks ago, our cat started acting very weird toward me. He would stalk me and try to attack me. When our daughter started crawling he got very territorial and even scratched her once. We decided to take him to a shelter but were unable to get him into the crate. I called ORCA looking for help capturing the cat to take him to a shelter, but when I spoke with John and later Connie, they decided that my cat had rabies and would not consider anything else. They told me that I was being an irresponsible parent, that if my baby died it would be my fault, that no shelter would take an animal that had scratched people and if he scratched a new owner that we would be held liable. They basically bullied and shamed me into getting my cat euthanized and tested for rabies, which in the end, he tested negative for. After doing a lot of research online, I have not found anything to explain why they believed rabies was the problem. There is so much more evidence that he was acting strangely toward me because he wasn't neutered. But because of the rude and abrasive way that I was spoken to by John and Connie, I was pushed into a decision that ultimately ended the life of a cat that probably would have made a good pet once he was fixed. I understand that rabies is a serious disease and that it is crucial to act quickly if you suspect it. But my cat had never been around other animals, never been outside, and had a fairly obvious reason for why his behavior may be abruptly changing. If you are looking for help and you want the best outcome for your animal, I would not recommend ORCA.

And it seems like she doesn't understand English even though she's American. Very smart mouth. Asked to speak to Connie several different times when I called and she is the lady who runs this organization but she never calls back. Went to drop off a 35 pound bag of cat food and a crate and The place was locked up and when I called that's when I had the problem with that lady. And I've had problems with her over the years. But yet she still there. A shame because I will never help this organization out again with anything!

I'm…read moresure they do some good rescuing the animals...but The disrespect I experienced here was unlike anything I've ever seen. Yesterday my fiancé and I found 2 kittens we were ready to adopt at this location. We asked the staff member if we could take the kittens home the same day, she said that the application usually takes 24 hours but if you already have a pet (experience with animals) than it shouldn't be an issue to take them the same day. Unfortunately when we came back to the rescue center after picking up some toys and food and litter for the kittens no one was there to let us in. When we called to get some info we spoke with Debbie, who was stale, monotone, and not competent in the slightest to answer any questions regarding when we could possibly pick up the cats. In the morning, I called again and spoke with Debbie to set up a pick up time, just to be told that I should be patient and they're busy. When I asked for a timeframe she then told me "you know you can get kittens other places too right?"....seeming very uninterested in the conversation. I was later called and asked by none other then Debbie "are you banging on the window of the rescue shelter right now?" I said "no I'm in my home...." very confused. She apologized and then hung up. An hour later I was called by Connie, the President. She then went on to say how I've been "harassing their hotline" and that they will NOT ALLOW ME TO ADOPT THE KITTENS. When I calmly tried say that they must be confused...they have the wrong person...Connie hung up. So I called Debbie to see if I was harrasing her on the hotline, she said "not harrasing but you seem too persistent...." when I only called her once to SET UP A PICK UP TIME. Folks this is when it gets wild..... I went to the rescue to speak with the staff member I met the day before. She answered the door without letting me in. I tell her that her boss yelled at me on the phone and must have me confused with someone else. She assures me that I can still get the Kittens. She tells me to wait 15-20 min as she gathers all the contract docs. I think to myself "finally...someone normal" I tell her I'll wait in my car for 20min. Then....as I'm walking up to rescue again with the empty cat transport in hand, I see TWO COPS CARS. Two police hop out and say they're responding to a call. I tell the cops the situation and describe how bizarre this whole thing has been. One cop goes in and speaks to the staff member who JUST TOLD ME TO WAIT FOR PAPERWORK. the cop then tells me that I'm trespassing if I ever come back and that ORCA doesn't want me there, and also to not bang on the window (which I never did once!). I laughed it off and went on my way. I tried calling to speak with anyone else but no one will answer. It's not about the kittens anymore, it's about these ridiculous ppl who refuse to have a meaningful conversation, instead they'd rather call police for absolutely no reason. This is prejudice at its finest. PLEASE don't waste your time like I did. EVERYONE ON THEIR BOARD SHOULD HAVE TO ANSWER FOR THE POLICE BEING CALLED ON A MAN FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Shame on Debbie and Connie. #Karensgonewild
