Facilities on the campus were great the university bookshop stocked almost everything that you could need. The teachers were great as well exactly what you want from a university, encouraging and helpful. The JCR and student union bars were also good and played host to many good nights out!

Xaverian College...what a fantastic place…read more This is where I actually became who I am today. I know that sounds silly but this college is fantastic. I learnt more here in two years than I did in five years at high school. The teachers here really bring you out of yourself, they actually care about the students, not just about the grades. I'm still in touch with most of my tutors now, they care what I've been up to since I left and always get in touch to congratulate me on anything I achieve. The range of subjects is vast and the campus keeps getting bigger and better. It's much different to most other colleges as the buildings are spread right out although not too far so you can still walk to all of them comfortably. It's so different to school, everyone is treated as an adult and it was such a good grounding before university, I don't think I'd have been half as prepared for uni if it wasn't for Xaverian.

Spent my second and third year at uni here and was very happy…read more The flats themselves are great with a variety of options regarding number of rooms per flat and double and single rooms etc. there are also family rooms available. All rooms come with en-suite facilities which are great and the kitchen also comes fully equipped with facilities including a dishwasher. The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful, especially the student staff and the security staff who are always on hand to make sure that the residents are kept safe especially late at night. Its in a great location close to both the university and the town centre so everything you need is within walking distance really. The only downside is probably the laundry facilities which can be expensive, in addition to this there aren't many washers and driers available so it can be quite a hassle doing your washing.

Well I wanted to learn and at the same time make it worth while at the end of it. So just took whatever took my fancy at the time. And yes did pass them all. I was a Head Chef over 35 years so I did need to take my Health and Hygiene certifs, so took them there too. Basic,,,Intermediate,,,, and also my Advanced. Was and am really chuffed getting that Advanced. So folks don't jusst wait around for the course you want. take a few while you are waiting, Really uplifting For me it was always great teachers and always made friends with other students and had fun. It has got 2 canteens inside buildings plus heating is left on all the time keeping us warm in those lectures! A lot of courses available to choose from and they are not too picky with what grades you have either making them a good university to choose to study at.
