From the beginning of the school year, they should of implement a strategy poll or survey to get a real estimate of interested families that would let their kids go on the trip. The paperwork given on December 9th 2024 shows in the right corner July 2024. I don't understand why something wasn't put together early for parents to have information on it Ex: estimated price it will cost, days traveling and a poll seeing who's interested and who's not for bettering planning. You don't give a Paper December 9th 2024 and the Paper saying First Deposit due December 9th 2024 and when I call to ask why so inconsiderate the excuses are, I had a hard time getting it approved. How is that? When this is a yearly thing. Y'all should of been prepared and well knowledgeable in this department for signing up successfully or is it thrown to random people to sign up and when paperwork is wrong after multiple attempts you only then realized it's giving a shorter time for parents to be notified. Y'all failed to give Information about this trip or estimated prices of cost or how many days of travel. All that was given last minute with a hurry up and pay today or the next day and you wonder why only 30 kids can go because y'all didn't properly prepare this field trip. It's unacceptable and I wonder how many years y'all been unprepared doing this and waiting last minute to give information when y'all should of alerted parents immediately about the field trip in August when school started and gave monthly updates for progress moving forward. It would of given more kids a opportunity and parents the chance for letting them go especially when you plan better and plan ahead. The school should have someone that works there that does the paper yearly so they know how it should be prepared correctly, so that it can get approved immediately and not after several attempts and make it a smooth transition for everyone getting information early.

These are some of the things that i will never forget, but i have forgiven and moved on from Frist I would say that the principal called me into her office and lectured me about a conversation over payment that i had with her spoiled staff. She was extremely rude and would not hear myside of the argument. I am not a student but a grown man. Be respectful. There also was a time that it was raining. I was with my son who had autism and as we were walking inside the school building, me and my son fell hard to the ground due to a wet area. There was no wet floor signs. I was bleeding so was my son, just a little. We were both ok overall. But i remember no one helped us. People saw it and no one said a word. I was a few steps from the front office and i heard someone tell the front desk staff about the incident, yet no one from the staff made any effort to check on us. There office was literally steps away. As we got up and finished walking my daughter to class, i saw someone put up the wet floor sign. I really felt like an outcast that day but it gets worse. At their graduation ceremonies, you will really feel like an outcast if either you don't attend their church or not Hawaiian. I remember laud applauses for most of the local kids at the gradation, but my kids turn came, all the other parents where silent. This happened year after year. By the third year, I'm screaming at the top of my lungs. How can you treat my kids this way? Don't you know things like this stick in their heads for year and years There was an older coaches worked there. He send letters to my daughters and i guess, most the students who were on summer break. I always felt a little uncomfortable having letters go to my 10-year-old. Something just felt off. I mean a least announce that you will be sending out stay well letters to all the kids in the summer. I did not give her any of the letters My other daughter was struggling in 1st grade in all subjects. I met with the teacher and she told me that there is one child who is exceling and doing well who sits close to me daughter. She ask me if I wanted that child to help my daughter during school hour in class. i asked her why would she consider a young kid teaching another kid? I thought that was the teachers job? Fastforward my daughter now is at the top of her class in another school. In my opinion, only certain students are going to receive the "attention" they need to keep up with the class, let alone excel. Everything I'm saying is the truth I forgive you......but I'm glad we moved on for my kids' sake.

As soon as they got off Thanksgiving break, two weeks later there's another 3wk break... goodness! Although they really don't have a summer, for every 8wks of school you have 3wks of break and then some. The second star was taken off because the amount of fundraising and money it takes to maintain and run this school. I can see that they do take pride in their school and community but it's crazy! From the time school started up to the Xmas break there have already been about 5 fundraisers. Ya, they got a new playground, that did take the first half of the school year to complete (half of it anyways) and sure the school looks in top shape condition, aside the fact that my sons class room a/c was broken for a month or more... As for the good things about this school, education and teachers. My sons teacher, Ms Pascual is Great! So patient, understanding, holds the classroom attention very Well and she is so kind and generous =) I have gone to this school the later part of my elementary years and I enjoyed it. The vice principal and counselor are from Campbell (where I went to high school) and they are also great, so I am glad my son is in this school. I'm sure kapolei has high standards for their students compared to a lot of other elementary schools on the island.

Last year it was at Pearl Harbor and because of their restrictions with bags & whatnot, a lot of families were having hard time getting in. Especially if you had a baby. That's ANOTHER long story of mines. But back to UH WEST... they had a really good set up right in their open courtyard area. It was in the middle of the building and so it made the workshops & booths coincide with each other. There was a lot of activities for keiki and parents. They offered a list of things to register for, as well as, have booths with additional educational activities. I hope they host again next year. Our family had Konane workshop. (Hawaiian Checkers) and made home made stylus and voted for Hawaiian Electrics polls. There were other activities and I wish we had chance to do it all but maybe next year. So THANK YOU UH WEST OAHU FOR HOSTING SUCH A FUN EVENT FOR THE FAMILIES. We really enjoyed it! Thank you Onizuka Day for making such event happen. Thank you all for reading & MALAMA PONO...

The most recent experience lasted about 3 1/2 hours. I was here because of an impromptu trip to the west side of the island. It was the last day of my staycation in November 2021 and my friend needed to attend class on campus. After lunch and ice cream at the Ewa Pointe shopping center, we arrived here at the University of Hawaii - West Oahu campus around 1:45pm for a 2pm lecture. It was a nice day out, but the campus itself was very eerie and quiet. While I am not currently a student here, it would be neat to come here, but the travel time would be crazy from Kaimuki. With that said, I was on campus for about 3 1/2 hours hanging out and waiting for my friend. I gave myself a little tour of the campus, which was surprisingly small enough to get anywhere within 5-10 minutes on foot. The campus itself was clean and quite immaculate actually. Just quiet with only a few students walking around to get to where they needed to go. For the most part though, being on the campus of the University of Hawaii - West Oahu reminded me of campus life 20 some years ago while I was going thru college life at the University of Hawaii - Manoa. Brings back memories of an era long gone by. The overall experience here at the University of Hawaii - West Oahu campus was very nice and serene. Very clean too. I enjoyed myself, even though I was by myself for an extended period of time. It feels like it's practically brand new, but I know it's been a few years since the campus was officially built. The University of Hawaii - West Oahu functions like a community college in a sense while providing degree programs to those who need them. They offer a limited areas of knowledge groups, but cover the all the in demand subject areas are there as well as interesting subject areas like creative media and travel & hospitality management, among others. Spending 3 1/2 hours here was nice and therapeutic. Not so much for my spirit, but to recapture my youth. The campus consists of an admin building, a maintenance building, and the rest are classrooms and lecture halls. It's quite tiny actually. Well groomed and spacious to conduct classes outside, if you wanted to. Applying for admission into UH-West Oahu is easy. Just visit their website and take a look as to how to get in and let your college career soar. I'm sure it's money well spent. If you want to further your education but don't want to venture to town and Manoa, consider coming here for your academic collegiate needs. Tuition wise, it's higher than when I went to school, but it's worth the price of admission. The University of Hawaii - West Oahu is located at 91-1001 Farrington Hwy in Kapolei on the island of Oahu. The small campus is accessible by car and public transportation, if you choose to. There's a generous portion of parking space here. I believe bus route 40 passes by here and it stops right in front of the campus. It was neat to have the buildings named after the alphabet. Remind me of high school too. I enjoyed my time here and hope you will too. It's definitely a nice campus. It just seems like it's in the middle of nowhere, not attached to anything. It's a cool place to be. Whether you are striving for academic excellence or just striving to get that college degree, the University of Hawaii - West Oahu has got you covered. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+

Thanks to Jacob, the entire process was smooth and stress-free. He was responsive, patient, and an excellent communicator, guiding us step-by-step through exactly what needed to be done. Our daughter attended six consecutive Sunday classroom sessions and, despite some initial apprehension, ended up really enjoying herself. Jacob made the classes fun and engaging with group assignments, skits, videos, and friendly competitions. He even bought boba for the winners--which alone would have won our daughter over! As an added bonus, she got to know students from other schools. The one-on-one behind-the-wheel sessions were just as wonderful. Jacob's car has a passenger-side brake, which eased a lot of our fear and helped our daughter progress much faster. Over the course of the required 50 hours of parent-child driving practice, we noticed a clear boost in her confidence after every session with Jacob. It was also incredibly helpful that he took her on the actual test route the day before her exam, which made her feel fully prepared. Our daughter "passed first crack," and we couldn't be happier! To top it off, Jacob highlights his students' accomplishments on Instagram, which is fun and motivating. We were so fortunate to have found him--Jacob is truly the best!

Every teacher there felt like they were born to be a pre-school teacher! We feel incredibly grateful to have found Ewa Plains Enrichment in Ewa Beach for our son. From the very beginning, it felt personal. We were not just enrolling in a school but becoming part of a warm, loving community that felt like family. Miss Jessica and the entire team of teachers are everything you would hope for in a preschool. They are warm, kind, intelligent, and fully engaged with the children. Their sincerity and care were evident every single day. It was almost tangible how much they truly loved each child, including ours. The mission of Ewa Plains Enrichment feels centered in love. Every lesson, classroom moment, and interaction reflects that. Our son not only learned how to read here, but something lit up inside him. It was as if a light switched on, and now he reads his own bedtime stories with joy and confidence. This milestone was nurtured by the school's incredible literacy program and the encouragement of his teachers. The school's focus on literacy is truly outstanding. The dedication and joy the teachers bring to reading is something our family will never forget. We also deeply appreciated the school's commitment to Hawaiian culture. Field trips to the lo'i, the pumpkin patch, and the library helped connect learning to the land and the community. Through songs, stories, and hands-on experiences, the children developed a strong sense of place and respect. As a Buddhist family, we always felt completely welcomed and respected at this Christian school. The values of kindness, compassion, gratitude, and responsibility were shared in a loving and inclusive way that felt deeply aligned with our home life. Our son also had the opportunity to share his own heritage during Culture Week and to learn about the cultures of his classmates. Seeing his identity honored and celebrated was incredibly meaningful and helped him feel proud and connected. The school created beautiful memories throughout the year, from Christmas and Easter performances to a heartfelt Mother's Day celebration. Preschool graduation was one of the best graduation events I have ever attended. It was thoughtful, joyful, and full of love. You could see how much the staff cared about each and every child. During a year when our family needed to take extended international trips, the school was flexible, understanding, and supportive. They even prepared homework packets for our son to bring with him, so he could stay connected and continue learning while we traveled. That level of care and thoughtfulness meant so much to us. Ewa Plains Enrichment has been around for many years, and that experience shows in the most beautiful ways. The staff have worked with so many different types of children and family situations, and their understanding, flexibility, and wisdom come through in how they support each student. You can tell they have truly seen it all and are prepared to meet each child where they are, with love and confidence. Ewa Plains Enrichment consistently goes above and beyond what is expected. They are always thinking about the children and their future. This is not just a school. It is a place where children are truly seen, nurtured, and loved. We will be forever grateful to this school, which is a true gift to the community and island!
