I'd like to start off by saying this one hour activity was booked through our stay at Four Seasons Lana'i. We really didn't know what to expect and by golly, this was fun! Our time slot was reserved through Four Seasons concierge. The resort shuttle took us to this beautiful spacious area in the mountains. Upon arrival, we met Dennis who discussed all the safety measures and provided us with eye and ear protection. We were given a golf cart and followed Dennis to Station 1. This was the easiest and I remember hitting 3 of the 4 clay targets. I couldn't have done this without the helpful instructions from Dennis. He was quite patient with us and made learning shotgun FUN!! Our one hour clay shooting activity had four target stations. In Station 2, the clay rabbit was released from the right and rolled on the ground to the left. I did pretty good at that one too considering these clay targets rolled fast and jumped off the ground in some areas. Stations 3 and 4 were also spacious and scenic. We appreciated that Dennis showed us a sample moving target before setting us up with proper stance and shotgun ammunition. The direction of clay targets were different at each station, making it a progressive challenge as the target surface area changed. Thank you Dennis, this was so much fun!! Truly a memorable experience in Lana'i's remarkable mountain acreage. This facility and gear were clean and safe. Wow, Four Seasons really doesn't like locals.. Archery and shooting range is for "guests" only. This was one of our favorite island hopping activities and we're really surprised that Four Seasons would take this over and not allow locals to come there. Weeeee! Suffice to say that I've never done anything quite like it, and I'm psyched to do it again soon. We signed up for the clay pigeon intro course and it was a blast...literally. First step was to get suited up in a stylin camo vest and ear plugs. Pretty sure the clay pigeons couldn't see us anyhow, but was nice to have the shoulder padding and extra pockets. Our friendly, laid-back guide loaded our shotguns on the golf cart - a slightly smaller one for me - and we were off to the first few "holes" on the 16-stop course. He walked us through the basics of spotting, shooting, loading and unloading our guns, etc. and then we were shooting. Aim, "Pull," Bam! Got my first one on the first try. Alas, it wasn't a sign of what was to come. We practiced with the guide through the first 3-4 holes and then he sent us out on our own, which we thought was a little crazy. We ended up doing 8-9 total. The clays at each hole mimicked the flight of a different bird - and one had rabbits that spun across the dirt. I did better than I thought overall, and it became more and more addictive. I was scared of the kickback, but my shoulder didn't hurt at all afterward. This is not a cheap activity, but it was totally worth it. They have kama'aina rates, so remember to ask if you're a local. The team was exceptionally friendly and the woods were really pretty - a part of Lanai you might miss otherwise. Only 5 mins from the Four Seasons Koele via their van. read more

This is a must for first time shotgun shooters. Come visit Lanai on the ferry and book a package with the Four Seasons. Totally worth it! Plus we got to chill at the Four Season's with a day pass afterward. We lived and ate like the kings for a few moments without having to fork over the $1K per night. Dennis coached my wife, 10-year old daughter, and I, to be confident archers, all while having fun. They give you a small crystal pineapple if you hit the paper pineapple with 6 of your arrows after practicing for a while. I did it! No previous experience. Expensive, I guess, but really fun! Dennis was fantastic, and we didn't spend a lot of time waiting around. Though if we had, the grounds were really nice. Do it! read more

Unique experience...great instruction...took our kids to clay range and archery and they wanted to go back the next day for more.

Franky is a great instructor!!! It was my first time and my Husband and I had a blast. Franky was professional, knowledgeable, and kind, what a great activity! Never shooting a gun before, our guide Derek, was an amazing teacher from practicing safety to improving my accuracy in shooting. Derek made the experience fun for both of us. It was amazing to see the difference of landscape in each of the targets. The views from being in the middle of the forest to overlooking the top of the trees, never a dull view. read more

Some easy and some challenging targets. I had a hard time the first time I went, and did pretty well on this second trip. Nice skeet field and 5 stand as well. Mike, Dennis, Larry, and the rest of the staff are very easy to deal with and helpful on those lost birds. read more

How can I be the first to review this? Anyway, this is so much fun! The instructor, Sid, was patient and helpful. Once you take an intro lesson they just give you a gun and shells and send you on your merry way. Prepare to have a fantastic time and your shoulder will only be sore for a day or two. read more

Really fun afternoon at LASR. It was my first time shooting skeet and doing archery and Sid made it really fun and tried to help me learn, even though I was a somewhat pathetic shot. Thanks to Larry for accommodating us even though we were a late (due to our poor navigation skills - I mean, how do you get lost on Lanai??). Great snacks and cold water to drink too. Great stations. You get to drive around in camp golf carts. I didn't have a great instructor as far as actual teaching, but he was kind of funny so we had a reasonably good time. read more

This rating is for the one hour archery lesson that my 9 year old son took. For kids' archery there are two options, basically you can do the one hour lesson like adults do, or do a 45 minute 'dinosaur hunt' in the forest. He chose the former and the hour just flew by. Excellent instructors who emphasized safety (I was VERY freaked about his tendency to be a spazz and those sharp metal tips everywhere) and fun. My kid was hitting the target and even got a few bulls'eyes by the end of the hour. He wanted to go back again, hopefully next time when we are on Lanai! read more
