Lucky Buddies Pet Sitting - Jacko, 2-year-old, Bernese mountain dog.

Lucky Buddies Pet Sitting

Downtown

It's hard to believe it's been six years since Teddy first started going to Lucky Buddies! We joke…read morethat we're one of the "OGs" because we've been with Yesi since the very beginning--back when she was caring for pups through Rover, long before Lucky Buddies grew into the incredible daycare it is today. Watching Lucky Buddies grow has been such a joy, but what amazes me most is that their heart has never changed. Even as they've expanded, every dog is still treated like family. Teddy has been loved, cared for, and celebrated every step of the way, and there isn't a single person on the Lucky Buddies team that I wouldn't trust with him. They've truly become part of our village. From daycare and baths to transportation, check-ins, and walks, they've made life so much easier over the years. But beyond the services, it's the peace of mind that means the most. I never have to wonder if Teddy is safe, loved, or happy--I know he is. As I prepare to move away, one of the hardest things to leave behind is Lucky Buddies. I honestly don't know how I'll ever find another place like them. They've set the standard for what exceptional dog care looks like, and I will forever be grateful for the love they've poured into Teddy over the past six years. Thank you, Yesi, and the entire Lucky Buddies team, for loving Teddy as if he were your own. It truly takes a village to raise a pup, and I don't know how I would've done these last six years without ours.

I would strongly caution anyone considering Lucky Buddies for cat boarding. We used this facility…read morefor years, but our last two experiences were bad enough that I would never leave my cat here again. The cat boarding area itself has deteriorated significantly. On our recent visits, the room was dirty, visibly soiled, and smelled very unpleasant. For a facility that is supposed to house cats for extended periods, I found the condition of the space unacceptable. More importantly, during my baby's most recent stay, he was severely distressed while being handled by staff. When they attempted to put him into his carrier/bag, he defecated on himself and was returned to us covered in feces and visibly shaking. This was incredibly upsetting to witness. Lucky Buddies later apologized and acknowledged that he had been mishandled by their staff. What followed was equally disappointing. Despite repeatedly following up, I did not receive the updates or communication I expected regarding what had happened. While they apologized, there was no meaningful rectification, no clear explanation of what would change, and nothing that gave me confidence that the same thing would not happen to another cat. Poofy is still recovering from what was clearly a very stressful experience. We have noticed behavioral changes since the incident, particularly increased fear around handling outside the home. And now, after acknowledging what happened and apologizing for it, Lucky Buddies has deactivated my account. I find that response extremely troubling. Rather than meaningfully addressing a longtime customer's concern after admitting that their staff mishandled an animal in their care, their apparent response has been to remove the customer. Cats are not small dogs. They require calm environments, clean spaces, patient handling, and staff who understand feline fear and stress. Based on the condition of the cat room during our last visits, the lack of communication despite follow-ups, the handling of Poofy, and the way the complaint was dealt with afterward, I would not recommend Lucky Buddies for cats. We trusted this facility for years. Unfortunately, the standard of care we experienced during our last two visits was completely different from what we had come to expect. I genuinely wish we had stopped using them sooner.

As unfortunate as the camera situation was, the workers were very accommodating to any request of pictures or videos via instagram which helped ease lots of my worries as a first time dog parent... I do want to mention that the staff was friendly on each of my accounts. I went in hopeful--the tour was a nice gesture, and I appreciated that they offer cameras for monitoring. Unfortunately, the week I brought my dog in, the cameras were down due to Wi-Fi issues, which I understand can happen. However, my concerns started after the first day. When I picked Maui up, he urgently needed to go poo. After we got home (about a 45-minute drive), he drank almost an entire bowl of water. This made me question whether he was being given enough water or regular opportunities to relieve himself during the day. The same thing happened the second day. When I picked him up, he immediately drank water from a bowl they had outside immediately and had an extremely long pee--lasting over a minute--which again made me feel like he wasn't being let out frequently enough. On top of that, I noticed a very unpleasant smell coming from him in the car. When I checked, there were stains on his chin and belly that smelled far worse than urine. This raised concerns about cleanliness, either in the kennels or play areas (which were not included in the tour). I truly wanted this to be a good, budget-friendly option, but based on my experience, I would rather pay more elsewhere to ensure my dog is properly cared for. Saving money isn't worth compromising my pet's well-being.

Our cat is very shy and timid, some of our visitors never saw her, and she got used to Dave almost instantly, which is a great sign for a pet sitter. He makes sure he knows where everything is and what is the feeling schedule, and also is asking when will we be back so that our cat doesn't stay without food for long. He is using PayPal which is very convenient and we always tip through the invoice that he is sending via email. Quick, easy and all taken care of before we leave. All in all I highly recommend Dave, he's quiet with people but gets along with our furry friends.

They've been incredibly caring, attentive and professional throughout onboarding and all visits. We've been blown away with their in-home pet sitting services. We have a wary and dog-reactive senior dog, cats (one is deaf), and a bunny. Wolfgang is incredible with all of them, and also treats our home with so much respect in the big and little ways (watering parched plants, tossing garbage in the bins outside, bringing in packages). His visitation notes make us feel so comforted knowing our pets are eating and using the restroom. We always feel guilty leaving them, but I know they're still getting lots of love and attention from an experienced caretaker who also genuinely loves animals. We feel the level of service The Woof Gang provides WELL exceeds our expectations and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to everyone.

Unfortunately, this ended up being one of the most upsetting experiences I've had with a veterinarian. My cat had gotten covered in car oil and likely ingested some of it because she was scared and I couldn't catch her right away. By the time I finally did, she had gone downhill. She had lost weight, was drooling, her tongue was sticking out, and her mouth looked burned and ulcerated. I was scared and brought her in because I needed help fast. When Dr. Saini looked at her, it felt like he wrote her off almost immediately. He looked in her mouth briefly and told me it was a tumor and that she would not have a good quality of life. I asked more than once if it could be an ulcer instead, especially because of the car oil exposure and the burns in her mouth, but he still said it was a tumor. There was very little explanation, very little compassion, and no real sense of urgency. What bothered me the most was that I had to point out that she was clearly having respiratory distress before that was even addressed. Only after I kept asking questions did labs and X-rays come up. By that point, I honestly had no confidence in the care being provided and chose not to move forward with testing there. The next day, I took her to another vet. They diagnosed an oral ulcer, not a tumor, and started treatment right away, including IV fluids and oxygen. That was heartbreaking because I feel like her care was delayed when she needed help the most. I know not every diagnosis is easy, and I don't expect any doctor to be perfect. But I do expect compassion, urgency, and a willingness to actually listen when an animal is clearly suffering. I left feeling like my cat was dismissed instead of helped, and I would not feel comfortable bringing another pet here.

During our initial visit, she was very professional and helpful, and the facility seemed well run. We ultimately chose a home-based daycare for our 6-month-old puppy and canceled well in advance. In October 2025, I paid a $855 deposit via Zelle to reserve boarding and requested a refund after canceling. After multiple follow-ups, I was told the refund would be processed. I was later informed that the refund had been sent to the wrong person and would be corrected, with a commitment that it would be completed by February 18, 2026. Unfortunately, I never received it, and there has been no resolution since. I've attempted to follow up via phone (calls are no longer being accepted), WhatsApp (messages are read but not responded to), and email, but have not received any response. At this point, I am still waiting on the refund and have had to pursue formal channels to resolve this. I hope this can be resolved promptly.
