Here, a divorce has last for as long as 11 years while marriage is only 4 years! My dear child has been concealed and misused for 8 year! We need a real and timely justice and need a change！ I complaint this Whitecotton Law for their wrongly and unacceptable practice in cheating the Court at this center, cheating and misleading on a recent hearing on Reserved Issues of Child Custody after the stipulation judgment. Further, this Whitecotton law office has long sponsored the Petitioner's terrible ALIENATING and misuse against my minor child, damaging my child's best interest, in connection with this case # 14D004101 at Lamoreaux Justice Center, Orange county, CA. Randal Whitecotton has been so unprofessional that he conducted perjury of lying at the hearing on Reserved Issues of Child Custody, July 28, 2025. He painted a wrong picture and fabricated at the hearing that Respondent has not seen his minor daughter for many years since she was two years old. As such, Whitecotton intentionally misled the court and distorted the father's qualification and distort the father's entitled rights for child custody. However, in fact, Respondent had seen and spent much happy time together with the minor child nearly every week for years till Petitioner completely concealed the child just in recent years. Under the misleading by this law firm, Petitioner completely and rudely even blocked all communications for 7 years which is against basic human rights. [see the link attached, Exhibits Group 1]. The state of California favors joint custody arrangements (for both legal and physical custody) since they serve the best interests of the child, allowing both parents to share responsibilities. This father is highly qualified for his custody with a Ph.D degree and was a well-know tenured professor in a State University of this country, while the petitioner is newly immigrated to here who might barely take a minimum wage work. However, this Whitecotton law has been extremely unreasonable and has long wrangled this process attempting to block child (13 years old) to see her father and block Joint Custody that is the best interests of the child. Supported by Whitecotton law, Petitioner has unlawfully even blocked my minor child's personal freedom, basic and personal human right and her right to love and be loved (by her father). The residence neighbors told that they has never seen my daughter playing in the court yard or with other kids. Petitioner recklessly blocks the child from meeting and communicating with child's father, conducted terrible ALIENATING, even in major holidays, such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year! They recently has attempted to block Joint Custody. However, the court has done so little and so late! During the said recent hearing on Reserved Issues of Child Custody, Randal Whitecotton even attempted and wrongfully defamed Respondent "misused Child". However, the Official Joint Investigation by specifically appointed Legal Authorities (team of CMPD, CAST, and SSW Orange County) has already completely dismissed their fabricated allegation as early as in April-May 2017 (See attached report): This case in 2017 as Petitioner reported was fabricated. 1) Official joint Investigation by a legal authority team has concluded that this case is "UNFOUNDED" and case "CLOSED" 2) Official joint Investigation by a legal authority team of CMPD, CAST Orange County, and SSW Orange County has concluded that: This case is "UNFOUNDED" and case "CLOSED". 3) The Officier says: "I spoke with Doe's mother, Liu, after the interview and I explained that Doe did not describe anything similar to what she (Liu) told Ofer. The Child support started from May 2014, but Randy Whitecotton misled Petitioner to demand a pay starting from Jan 2010 while the child was not even born till Feb 2012. Personal Experience with Orange County Family Court I want to share my experience with the Orange County Family Court in hopes it helps others navigating similar situations. Throughout my lengthy custody and divorce process, I often felt that the system did not fairly consider my role as a father. The court's decisions seemed to reflect a strong bias, and I was particularly concerned about how past, expunged records--over 20 years old--were brought into consideration when evaluating my character. An attorney (Dan) was appointed by the judge for my children, and I felt that his alignment with the court's perspective contributed to prolonged proceedings and further limited my ability to maintain a relationship with my sons. The process lasted over five years, and during that time, I was told the children did not want contact with me. Despite these rulings, I'm grateful to now have a meaningful relationship with my sons. In hindsight, it appears the outcome may have been influenced more by gender & racial prejudice, financial considerations--such as custody-related tax benefits--than by what was truly best for the children. If you are a parent seeking fairness in family court, I recommend approaching the process with caution and being as informed and prepared as possible. read more

Well I don't know of anybody who really wants to be there, except the lawyer getting paid, but the Place is clean, For the most part the self-help, its helpful, Mini clerk offices, There are some bailiffs That could be more patient, I think they think that people know what they should be doing when they don't. In regard to the court room... But all of them let the lawyers talk loudly, laugh etc. not follow some of the protocols expected on us, I was there as a visitor. Two thumbs down and negative 5 on the guy name Joe that works in "self-help"..he should retire cause he does not know what he's doing or he just doesn't care about people's time...I was there this past Tuesday to finalize divorce...he gave me a 44pg packet and told me to log into website for help..I filled out packet n went on website and was confused cause so many things on packet and website did not help my situation..went back the following day Wednesday and got him again..explained to him and this time he gave me a few packets which total 9pgs to fill out...after I filled them out n brought it back to him he told me there was a bunch of areas I didn't fill out and I explained to him how that I wasn't sure if I was to fill out or the clerk is supposed too and again some of the packets are asking me about things that dont pertain to my type of divorce..his response was to go to website for help or sign up for a workshop..this is the same person that gave me the 44pg packet the first time and after telling him I need help filling out packet was told to go back to website...what is wrong with this so called "public servant"!? I went very early before they opened to get a copy that I needed for the social security office. The floor I needed was easy to find, however, I was given misinformation regarding which line to wait in. Since I went early, I didn't have to wait too long in line to check-in. Once i checked in, i waited less than 10 minutes for my number to be called. The person that helped me was quick and efficient and found exactly what I needed. I did have to pay extra for an official copy of the paperwork I needed. I was out in 30 minutes. If you don't go early, your wait will be longer. read more

First, I filed for divorce w/DV order in Nov 2018 figured it would've been over by now. It's 2020, no children, short 5 yr marriage. Second and In fairness, It is being contested by Respondent because of one (1) item. The condo. Third, I've been prepared for our trial by Judge since the scheduled date of Dec 20, 2019. However, we've had so many continuances! If there were 10 only 4 were by our request. The Judge was out or we got bumped for a DV/child case. I'm not finding fault but it's stressful to have it go on this long. Fourth, I pray a lot and hope Judge Flynn will listen, review my brief/evidence, then decide the Respondent shouldn't get the amount he greedily seeks, but only what's truly fair. Additionally, it's a clean place. Sparse, but somewhat comfy. Finally, I can't end this review without mentioning the Judges clerk and the filing clerks at Lamoreaux. This review is for the mediators and judge Vu. I have always been treated respectfully and never bullied by the mediators like I had in LA county. A+! I can't say enough positive things about judge Vu. He inspected every exhibit and took his time making our orders. He was the first judge to finally listen to me and put our daughters well being first. I'm extremely sad he's leaving family law, and terrified to get a new judge, but i wish him the best of luck! Orange County Family Court is anti family, and although I haven't conducted a survey, from my experience it is biased against mothers. If you are unfortunate enough to land in Gabriel Lee's court I feel sorry for you. Especially if you're the party who is trying to do what's right for your child. In our case he blatantly refused to follow the law and when our attorney pointed that out to him he simply stated, "I realize we are on shaky legal ground and you may appeal..." He wasted over a hundred thousand dollars on a case that really was simple. There was only one person in the courtroom who even had legal custody of a runaway child and he still granted custody to the person who was deliberately hiding him. Lee went so far as to recommend to the lawyer he had appointed minor's counsel to take the case to probate court because Lee was afraid to continue his illegal order. In probate court the lawyer could seek a guardian for the runaway child, which is what happened. There was a petition filed by minor's counsel, on his own authority, to appoint a guardian for the child. Turned out the supposed guardian didn't mind hiding the child, but did not want to be the guardian and the child was left with nowhere to go just a few days before Christmas. Fortunately the mother found out and was able to rescue her child from minor's counsel's proposed guardian and they spent a pretty decent Christmas together, despite all of the efforts of the family court and minor's counsel to destroy their relationship. The only reason this case finally was resolved with the child back in the custody of his parent was because his proposed guardian was so abusive that the child voluntarily returned home to a loving parent. I've had contact with dozens of people who've had similar experiences. If you're having family difficulties even if they are severe my advice is to stay away from Orange County family court. Hire attorneys and pound out some agreement before ever walking through the door of OC family court. And you really don't need any interference from the court. The judge is terrible at making decisions, and he will take a side, based on what I have no idea, but I've seen it multiple times. From what I've seen OC family court usually rules against the woman. Terrible place. If you really have a hundred thousand dollars to spend save it. Get a couple of attorneys to put together an out of court agreement. That will cost probably 15-20 thousand. Take the rest and remodel your home, buy a nice car, take a vacation, whatever. Keep in mind that a court order from OC family court has no authority at all. The police will not do anything to enforce a court order from OC family court, except for restraining orders. Judges love to sign restraining orders based solely on the lies being told by the person requesting one, sand police love to make restraining order arrests. And restraining orders are strictly designed to protect the guilty party who is usually the person claiming to need protection. If one person wants to harm another no piece of paper is going to help. On the other hand if someone for example wants to deprive their spouse of the opportunity to spend time with their child all they have to do is go to OC family court and lie to a judge who will then provide cover for them to accomplish the crime, which is no longer a crime because a judge has joined hands with the kidnapper and provided legal cover for the suspect. And that's the only OC family court order I'm aware of that the police will enforce. They will arrest an innocent person who is only trying to protect their child if the abuse has been sanctioned by an OC family court judge. Honestly restraining orders should be illegal. In the last twelve months I've read about two women, armed with restraining orders, who were murdered by their spouse or boyfriend. OC family court is a cruel joke. read more

7th floor Family Law Clerks office. Horrible Sevice. I showed up today at 10am. I get a number and wait. There was only one person in front of me. This department has 8 windows and only 2 windows were open. I was called to the window 45 minutes later. In 45 minutes they were only able to help 1 person. Horrible service! These clerks are either too slow, or the department supervisor has them doing admin work instead of helping waiting customers. You know, I've been here many many times and even though the reason I come here isn't pleasant, I've had very good experiences with people who work here, in particular those on the 7th floor. Doors open at 7:30am so you can arrive early and beat the long lines that form after 8am...you know the one that curves around the corner. Horrible horrible, unjust experience here. Back in 2015 my ex filed for custody of our two daughters solely to avoid paying child support, which I had agreed to cancel if he would leave custody as it was, 50/50 legal, with me having primary physical custody, although, I had agreed to allow our oldest daughter to live with him since she wanted to go to the high school near his home. Our youngest daughter who was 9 at the time (and a Mama's girl) wanted to remain living with me. My ex's attorney was one of those "for the dad" attorneys---and for the record I do believe that fathers should have equal rights to their children, I am not one of those one-sided people who think that mothers are the only ones capable of raising their children because I truly believe it takes two responsible parents to raise children. I unfortunately at the time could not afford to hire a private attorney and was self-represented, which I do not advise anyone to go into court, self-represented, because you will be treated like a complete worthless, time-wasting, idiot POS because most of us are ignorant to the law, the true law, which they do not abide by, in their corrupt family court system. My ex's attorney obviously had a rapport (relationship) with the judge on our case who's name is Nathan R Scott, who by the way is a complete and utter disgrace to the judicial system. Judge Nathan R Scott was completely biased, disrespectful and did not let me speak but a few words which were totally misconstrued and taken out of context, this after he totally belittled/harassed me in front of the entire court audience. When I first got called up in the hearing he told me, "oh you got a haircut" to which I replied, "um, thank you for noticing", because I I wasn't expecting that in was totally caught off guard, and didn't know what else to say. He in turn replied back, "oh I'm not saying I like it, I just noticed"---really?!?! Was that even necessary? He did that solely to disrespect, belittle and harrass me. It's very obvious he is a woman-hater, which was confirmed when I saw the reviews given on him on the website at www.therobingroom.com. You can go on to that website and see reviews on any judge on a bench within the United States. Nathan R Scott has a severely, poor track record. All but one or two reviews, of the many, are all negative. Even an opposing counsel made the comment that you're better off if you're representing the male on a case and not the female. Getting back to my nightmare experience, Judge Nathan R Scott gave 100% full custody to my ex, stripping me of my God given rights to be a mother to my children, all without merit. In order to do this type of atrocity, one must be deemed/proved unfit. I am not, never have been an unfit mother. I have raised my children alone for the most part and have always provided everything (and then some) for them. Another mitigating factor is that judge Nathan R Scott requested a minor's counsel because prior to the hearing the mediator had decided it was a "high-conflict custody case"--which by the way is just another one of their tactics to get more money out of you and into their corrupt system, simply because I didn't agree with what my ex wanted. He didn't even originally want full custody. He wanted to have the children one week and for me to have them one week (alternating weeks), and for the children to go to school by his house, which is about 12 miles from mine, and for me to do all the driving back and forth, which I did not agree on. I tried to work things out with him outside of court but he just wanted to punish me for his own selfish motives. My ex is an abuser and knows how to play the system. He has lied and perjured himself throughout the whole ordeal, and has gotten away with it. I ended up getting an attorney who filed a motion for reconsideration to appeal Judge Scott's decision and it was denied, this after both my attorney and I witnessed my ex's attorney walk straight back into the judge's chambers where he spent a good few minutes, then we see him walk out, he glances over to us, all straight-faced turns away, walks out of the courtroom, a couple minutes after that, the deputy brings out the motion, hands it to my attorney, and we see a big DENIED stamp on it, which proves collusion and fraud is committed without any thought of the best interests of children. I could go on and on, but I have to stop here. Lastly I'll just reiterate, I do not advise anyone to go into this court or any family court without an attorney representing you, even though for the record, I think most attorneys are a part of the problem because they all belong to the same cartel/gang which is called, the American Bar Association. Attorneys and judges collude, commit fraud, keep parents at odds, just to keep money going through their corrupt, yet "legal" racketeering scheme, better known as the family court. read more

First off I currently reside in Texas. Since December of 2020 Ive been trying to open a case to make custody arrangements for my youngest son. I sent the forms over mail to the required address THREE times and each time they sent them back to me telling me to make corrections. The 3rd time they sent it back, the only correction was I needed to add my contact number, which was already on the FL-200 Form. DISCLAIMER: Please be advised that this review IS a little biased because I am currently an intern at the Lamoreaux Justice Center. Not sure if I am even allowed to post this... IMPORTANT TIPS: I only work on the first and seventh floor dealing with divorce so I cannot comment on the juvenile court or probate court. Also, waiting times CAN BE VERY LONG so if you're planning to get your documents reviewed or to go to mediation, take AT LEAST half a day off of work. We've had people come in and then get mad when they are late getting back to work. Additionally, if you want to file your papers before closing, get into the clerk's office door by 4PM. They close exactly at four; I have seen a few people run in at 4:01PM and been rejected; if you don't think you will make it in time to file your papers, save it for another day. Don't waste your time rushing and then getting disappointed/frustrated when you don't get in. MY EXPERIENCE: I started working here about three weeks ago and am currently observing the employees at the self-help center on the first floor. The only other job I've ever had (and am still currently employed at) is working for a senile old man who is...not a good person. Working here has opened my eyes to a whole new type of environment...an actual place where work can get done harmoniously. My supervisor, Daniel, is the nicest and coolest guy ever!!! He's fairly young, very smart, and genuinely kind. He's a rockstar at work, bringing both legal information and humor to the stressfully frustrated citizens who have waited their asses off in line to get documents reviewed or to go to mediation. He has the ability to really calm any angry person down by rationally using his words. Furthermore, he appreciates his team and constantly reminds them of it; I truly admire him and am glad that I have been fortunate enough to work with him and look up to him. From the inside, I have seen the workers get along extremely well (something that I have not been lucky enough to experience in my two years of working.) The employees are helpful and informative to interns and keep each other in the loop. I work next to the triage window in the self-help center so I am able to hear people talking to the employees at the window. They always speak enthusiastically and try to be as helpful as possible. I am usually observing document reviews on the first floor or mediations on the 7th floor. People who come in to get their documents reviewed and couples who have mediation always seem happy and relieved when they leave (which I found surprising.) The wait for a document review or mediation can sometimes take an hour or more (depending on the time of day)! I would expect people to be angrier about it because I would definitely feel that way. But I feel that they leave more informed about their case and about family law. It is our job to make sure that the documents have been completed correctly in order to speed up cases so that the people can get what they want and the court can also move at a constant speed without delays. I have only observed Daniel in mediation so I cannot comment on what the other mediators are like but Daniel keeps the long and brutal divorce process entertaining. He makes the couple feel at ease. Overall, I have had a great experience here so far. I still have seven more weeks left of my internship but I am very excited to learn new things from this place! (: read more

If it's early, or late, in Friday, and you didn't do anything to break the law, chances are; law enforcement agents will be in a good mood (TGIF), be happy to help, etc. the clerks will even greet you with a smile. Parking is decent (parking available, spots are small), but costly. $3 an hour, up to $18!! read more

This is the more modern of the courthouse locations, and was the last built courthouse in Orange County (state court wise). Built in the early 1990s, it is also the most high tech of the courthouses (most courtrooms in this location have video built in). Parking is the sucky part. This location is across from the street from the Outlets in Orange mall, but that's a hike. The long lines for parking in the expensive structure, and the long lines to get in, mean get here early, for whatever you are here for. Staff here are very nice, and friendly. read more

Let me start with the beginning. I had agreed to a ridiculously high payment that I thought I could afford in the beginning of my divorce. A month after I began to lose EVERYTHING. I developed debilitating mental health issues that I have since been treated for. Now key me hey to the issue at hand, first CSS refused to listen to my situation as I had been trying my best to get on my feet and work 2 different businesses, one being real estate that they allowed my license to be suspended in 3 occasions in a 2 year period. The payments then obviously feel behind while they continued to enforce these punishments ignoring my condition. I took their advice in December 2018 I began the process to get some relief and get the payment to be affordable as I love my kids more than life and want to be on my feet to ensure they're taken care of. Here is the relevance of that situation. My first court hearing I was told to bring back statements in which commissioner Paula Coleman didn't bother looking at and enforced a continuance. On trip number 2 she then gave a court order for an unrealistic list of documents including bank statements from accounts I could not keep open as I was going through hardship. I brought what I could to court and although it was late. She's and the CSS attorney failed to even ask if the opposing side got me their stuff on time which they were a day late. She then took the case off the calendar even with having access to my financial records I could provide and put a financial evaluation on my girlfriends income. They had everything they needed to see that I could not afford the payment and refused to make things fair. They also asked for a document that wasn't even listed!!! I offered to show my credit report even to back up my claims. They acted unfairly, unjust and I feel like a victim of sexism as I am a father just trying to better the situation so I can better my kids lives. I'm now stuck with over head of over $20k! Since she is in such a position of power other dad's including myself are left with nothing they can do! It was a losing battle for me at the start. If you have a court date that she will be overseeing I implore you to request another judge as she will not help you in the slightest! Father's rights matter and they do not give a damn about that at the CSS office and neither does commissioner Paula Coleman. read more

No complaints so far, everyones been helpfull in my custody battle.. I always find great parking the only time i paid 12$ for parking was at my first hearing other than that everythings been quick and easy, i guess it depends on the individual if you dont go without knowing what you need anyone would get fustrated. read more

I'm trying to file for divorce, and I have no children and no property to split. So this divorce should be easy to file. Right? Nope. Try again. This place turns out to be nothing more than what you expect from your government services. The self-help center actually doubles for a child care center for all the baby mamas trying to get restraining orders for the ex-boyfriends. Here your ears will be met with the velociraptor screams of babies, your feet being trampled on by their cousins, and everyone telling their dramatic stories to the clerk behind the glass who could give a rats @$$ about you. Me, I just want to know what I have to do to get my divorce filed. I deal with just the facts, no drama! The Self-help center will not only give you incomplete information, but they will throw incorrect paperwork at you and tell you to figure it out with no written instructions. This fool at the self-help center told me that I had to make two copies of my property disclosure forms and bring everything to the 7th floor to file. I asked, "Is that it for now?" "Yes," he replied. So after leaving and coming back with all copies in my hand, the clerk tells me I'm missing another form in order to process the default paperwork. "But the self help desk didn't say that?!" I told the clerk. Clerk replied, "Sorry sir..." So I go back to my car across the street, and take the whole stack of crap the self help center gave me weeks ago, so I'm prepared for anything. And I go through the security checkpoint a THIRD TIME, and run everything back up stairs and wait another 30mins to be called up. So I get another clerk who proceeds to tell me that one of the documents isn't filled out and correctly. But I tell her it was documents that were pre-checked from the self help center. I was given these forms through a glass window from the self help center!!!! So now the person who served my wife has to make the corrections in the lives in a different county. So now I have to go back a fourth time in order to file a default divorce. So if you want to waste half a day or a full day at the clerks office, just to get one simple thing done, just head over here and watch hours of your life be sucked away. As long as minimum effort is being put forth at these terrible government establishments, nothing will ever change. read more

Honestly I am not reviewing the place per say but I am just eating my feelings when I walk out of this hell on earth each and every time I am sure the staff is fantastic but the child support system is flawed and biased. Everything that makes sense doesn't apply in this twilight zone!!!! read more

Parking is tough. If you come for court, come early. It takes a while to get in the parking structure ($12 max day) and there is always a long line to get in the bldg from 8:30-9:15am. You can park for free at the block and walk over but security does drive around looking for people so be careful. There is a coffee stand outside in the morning or you can always go to Bella's restaurant (Cash Only) but there is an ATM machine outside. read more

Easiest Court aside from Westminster to come in and out of and security is tight but friendly and easy signs to find where you are going. Judges and clerks Ive delt with are all fair and helpful. Bailiffs are all helpful read more

The Clerks office is horribly understaffed and on the two occasions I was there- the window clerks took breaks together. Waited in line 1.5 hours and 1.75 hours with less that twenty people both times. They show no sense of urgency or care whatsoever and when they run into a problem there knee jerk reaction is to send you packing. Only one of the clerks is worth a damn (Middle aged guy). If they had online appointments like the DMV this wouldn't be an issue! read more

It's divorce/child custody court. The staff is fairly helpful and the place is pretty clean. Can't rate the courtrooms/judges themselves since I've only visited. Plenty of rat shark attorneys floating around there as well. read more
