If you decide to go to Candlewood, request Dr. Kevin Hoag. He was so kind, caring, professional,…read moreand patient. Never seems to be in a rush and pays close attention to detail. However, if you get Dr. Elizabeth Kelly, you SHOULD request a new doctor 100%. Ironic that she works for "Women's Health CT", yet does not care for women's health at all. Cold, callous, rude, unprofessional, demeaning, disrespectful. I could go on, but I won't. Seriously, I wish someone had warned me. I wish I could forget her, but she was that bad and I don't want other women to experience what I did with her. The front desk ladies, technicians, and nurses were all very kind and professional.

I want to warn women who are seeking empathy and a clear diagnosis process to avoid this clinic…read more Dr. Jennifer West judged me during diagnosis. I came in with a lot of pain and self conscious about the way my kitty looked. When I opened my legs and let her see, she was really expressive with disgust in her face. She looked like this . It made me feel really bad and her own medical student who was shadowing her, was more professional and comforting than her. Do they teach sensitivity and awareness in medical school? Perhaps not. Then, she called me to give me distressing news about my diagnosis and was very cold and seemed to be in a rush. I had to webMD the name of my illness to learn more about what exactly it was and how to best take care of myself. This is because she did not explain my diagnosis or offer any follow up care. She prescribed me medication for two weeks and no one from the office has even followed up or scheduled a follow up visit, knowing that this should be done. I feel that that is not my responsibility to remind my doctor about my adequate care. In my opinion, I believe doctors like Dr. West remind us how important it is to be more aware and kind and empathetic to women who are visiting an OB/GYN's office for the first time, by themselves, in pain and scared about what's going on. A missed opportunity to help someone in pain and I sincerely hope that this review improves the kind of employee training and culture here.

This practice ghosted me. They would not return my calls or allow me to follow up on their own…read morerecommendations. It's not as though we'd had an issue. There was no precipitating event. They just wouldn't call me back. After several tries and a month went by, I switched to another practice.

I have correction... "had" been going to this practice for over 10+ years. I recently found out I…read morewas pregnant and had the unfortunate experience with my first prenatal with Dr. Whitcombe. Not only was she self absorbed in her genetics testing speech, she was extremely rude and made me and my husband feel uncomfortable. On top of this she told me 15lb weight gain and crazy limitations on food. She then proceeded to tell me I must have had chicken pox because I had a red mark on my face (which was a pimple, god forbid those hormones!) To top everything she never told me how far along I was nor my due date. I called the office manager after I left that same day I was there .... it's been a week later I still have not gotten a courtesy phone call and then the office tried to bill me for requesting my paperwork to be transferred to another practice. Luckily the woman in the remote office was understanding to my situation and accommodated the request without going through the main office. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, the quality of this practice has gone down hill over the years and the staff is just completely miserable. While this is my own personal experience I have come across a few others that have have really bad experiences at this office and it has implicated their medical experiences.

I am very responsible and have never missed an appointment before. The kind receptionist put me on hold to check if I could reschedule and when she returned she informed me that I can no longer schedule any appointments due to their no-show policy. Suffice it to say that this is a consequence to the patients. I understand that there are some individuals that may habitually miss appointments and/or repeat this behavior. However, I would just like to share with the clinicians that I was just diagnosed with breast cancer and my world was turned upside down, hence I missed my appointment. And I was trying to schedule all my other remaining medical appointments before my surgery and treatments. It was a bit of an emotional time for me. The medical field should have empathy and communication for patients. It's not a soft skill, just a necessary skill. This office truly lacks this when they don't listen to the patients perspective.
