the lamond riggs post office is a horrible post office, our mail,packages come out of this horrible post office. we get our packages stolen many times, misdelivered, delivered really late . most of all the deliver people claim the mail route is so large no one will bid on it. delivery runners & fill in delivery carriers claim they can't get in our building to deliver our packages. delivery men look behave like criminals. our mail & packages get stolen. you can't reach anyone at that post office to inquire abt our mail or packages. theres many problems with the service at this post office read more

I just got a call back from someone at this post office because one my packages show not trackable in the online system. She was so unprofessional & rude! She first told me that maybe the package had the wrong address. I told her the email confirmation of the shipping had the correct address. She then said in her system it was delivered on 2/7.  I asked what the tracking number one so I could confirm it was the correct package that I was referring to yesterday. She said it was the tracking number I provided. I asked if she could please share it with me so I could confirm. I had to a couple of times before she would share it with me. I then checked it online again & it still says not trackable. So I tried asking why the online system would show "not trackable".  I was expecting some technical answers about public vs internal systems. But instead the woman became irate. She went & got her colleague to read to me what the system said. To which again, I said I understand. I am just trying to figure out what might have caused the discrepancy in the system because maybe that would help me locate what happened to my package. The woman started yelling at me that she doesn't have time for me, she can't explain things over & over again, I must be entering the tracking number wrong, she doesn't know if I received the package or not, she doesn't know what system I am using ... on & on. I asked if she can transfer me to someone else who could answer my questions about the online system. And she proceeded to tell me again that she has told me over & over again what their system says, she doesn't have time for me, tell me it stops with her; this case is closed & she hung up on me. read more

Once a week my package carrier delivers packages to the wrong address. When I call to inquire I'm put on hold for 10, 15, 20 minutes and no one ever comes back to answer the phone and help. The attitude of the employees at this post office inexcusable. I asked them to hand cancel invitations, they refused to do that as well. They never have any packages or forms out and available in the lobby area, and when you ask for it they treat you like you're asking them to do something insane or unusual, not their jobs. This has gone on for years, I'm tired of constantly having to report packages missing, how has this issue not be rectified yet? USPS, absolute garbage. MS WHITE should be fired for inappropriate behavior. She curses at people who call inquiring about missing packages and hangs up on them. This is UNACCEPTABLE read more

I called the office this morning and got a cheerful reply which surprised me because of the rating they are receiving. I have a package that is having trouble getting to me due to construction so I asked if it could be held there for me until tomorrow for a pickup. I wanted to be sure it wasn't on a truck when I come by. They took the time to talk to me and also had my carrier get on the phone with me so I could explain. She was very helpful and is going to leave it there for me to pick up tomorrow am. I am coming from a few hours away so I wanted to be sure. I was supposed to get my shipment from France in 5 business days. The shipment arrived in DD, in Lamond-Riggs Post Office but reached me. The tracking status is now "Your item is out for delivery on August 3, 2018 at 9:06 am in WASHINGTON, DC 20011." and we're actually August 8. I'm calling everyday this Miss White for farther informations, but every time it's the same song : "let me search for it, we'll call you back". And of course no more signs from them. When you ask to this miss White who is in charge of my parcel, it's either the guy is not here, not working, not reachable etc... And even more funny that she finally told me that my parcel was taken by an other carrier to be delivered !! This PO is a entire joke, my shipment was clearly stolen and I won't recommend to anybody to enter in this PO for any business. read more

See my tip and don't waste your time visiting the worst post office in the District. Chronically slow, at least 45 minutes wait time every time. Parking lot is chronically full as a result of slow service. And it's not just slow, it's actively disengaged. read more

This is the worst service experience I ever have. Let me tell you my story. My parents send me and important package using this service, two weeks when by and my package still did not arrive. I decided to call them. First office number never answered, after I called costumer service and they told me that my tracking the ONE THEY GAVE ME WAS INVALID. They "open and investigation", when they called me back they said that there is nothing they can do because MY TRACKING (remember the one they gave me) number was invalid! Therefore I called the office my dad went which is this office they put me on whole for more than an hour. After I explained to her what was the issue she said "there is nothing they can do". I wish I could give negative stars. This is easily the worst "business" in DC. It is unfortunate but there are zero consequences for the workers so they can get away with anything they want. They are without question stealing packages. The person in charge, who everyone calls Miss White, even though she isn't a 3rd grade teacher, is completely useless. She either is the person taking packages, lets her workers take them, or is a complete idiot. My parents sent me a package in October of 2017. It may it all the way to this post office, then disappeared. The tracking said "Out for Delivery" on the day it should be delivered, but then changed that night. The tracking said "In Transit, Delayed". I waited a few days but it never showed up or was updated. I called the post office and was told it was scanned onto the truck so they would need to contact the courier to figure out what happened. I wait a couple more days and had to call them back. The ticket was closed and was told they send me a vendor slip to give the seller so I could get my money back, which I got in the mail about three days later. When I explained to them this was from my parents and not some vendor I could get money back from they told me "oh, well we will have to check into it then". It feels like they just take packages and send out vendor slips to get people reimbursed and the problem is solved. So again, they are going to look into it. I have to call back a few days later. I am told the package never actually made it to their facility and would have to have someone else look for it. It said out for delivery at one point so that seems odd. ok...i'll wait some more. It was the same person who told me it was scanned onto the truck in the first place too. This was all done through the USPS help desk who tries to contact this USPS to get things done. I had to contact them every single time something was wrong. They never got back to me. I called the Department of Consumer Affairs, they are suppose to help look into this type of thing. All they did was call Miss White and have her tell them it isn't there and they dropped it. I called USPS OIG Hotline Complaint and got the same exact thing. Miss White just says she doesn't know anything. There is absolutely nothing anyone can or is willing to do about this post office either stealing packages or being completely incompetent. I wish I could force amazon or other businesses not to use USPS when I order products from them. I have a post office box at this location so I have no choice when it comes to checking my mail. BUT I go up the street in Takoma Park to purchase anything like stamps. This locations is always OUT of stamps, out of money orders, no change. The workers are on the phone while assisting you. They are the hoodest usps office I know of. I'm going to say it again, they NEVER have stamps.. I have to go to like CVS or giant to get postage because they chronically never have anything. Never a smile never a desire to help you just there for a paycheck and they make sure you know that. The woman are just tacky. I hate this place. I have never went into this post office without hearing people whine and talk about stuff that you should never hear in the workplace or public place for that matter. The WORST service EVER. Next, I plan to go to https://postalexperience.com to write another review. I mailed a change of address card May 12 or 13. It is now June 13. I have not received my confirm in the mail fm USPS yet. Last week I called 202-523-2038 a number of times during the week to get a confirm that my change of address is in the system. The phone rings and rings until the message from the phone company comes on saying - your party is not answering, please hang up and call back later. I put phone on speaker and sometimes I would be calling for over one hour: dial, get message saying to hang up, hang up, redial. When someone answers they say I can not access the system to see if you are in there. Call back when there is a supervisor here. I would call back. Finally, on June 10, 2016 I spoke w the Mr. Thompson, supervisor. He checked in "the system" and said the change is in the system effective May 18, but on June 13 I am still not receiving mail nor have I received the confirm from USPS. He told me to call back Monday to speak w Mr. Barnes carrier #1155. On Monday, I called the station at 9:30 AM. No one answered the phone until after 10 AM. A woman answered who transferred me to Mr. Barnes. Mr. Barnes said he is aware of the move. He was off Thur & Fri. Does not know why I have not received the USPS confirm. Can not access system. Must talk to supervisor. Mr. Barnes was nice and friendly. Mr. Thompson got on the phone and said the change is effective May 18. Does not know why I have not received confirm fm USPS. Mr. Barnes said give it until the end of the week. The million $ ? is: Who is responsible for mailing the USPS confirm and is it documented that that mailing went out? read more

The staff a this location are responsible for some of the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. They are completely disinterested in helping customers and seem to have no idea how to actually do their jobs. I have been unable to access my p.o. box for almost a month, due to staff error. I have since tried calling (no one ever answers, for fear they would have to actually do work, I presume) and going in person (a complete waste of time, as I was given the run around each time). I am now waiting on a call from the postmaster, to try to resolve this issue. Do not use this location- every time I am there, a long list of customers are in line to see a manager for a variety of different issues. They are also often out of stamps, if you can believe it.
