No argument about fault, as the other driver immediately took full responsibility. His insurer had me take it to a shop on their list in my area, and I selected LaMettry's. Squeaky-clean place, super nice guy who struck me as very experienced and knowledgeable--he opened the passenger door, and the bent frame was revealed. Their photos and estimate confirmed that it was totaled, and the insurance co offered a relatively reasonable settlement. I hope I never have reason to return for collision repair! But if I do, I'll definitely go to this LaMettry's.

My family went to an appointment and got the estimate, and Matt sent an estimate off to the insurance. My insurance didn't answer, so I pushed my insurance, and they responded to Matt approving it. I heard nothing from Matt. I called to follow up. The lady told me that Matt would get back to me. Nothing. Then, I waited a month ...forgot about it... called back, trying to see what the heck.. 2 months later. No answer, no response from Matt. I was told that they would call... Waited again.. I had to chase the guy down and told the girl that answered the phone that it was ridiculous. Matt finally called me back and had mentioned via telephone that he'll go ahead with it and emailed me, out of no where he told me in email that he talked to the manager (attached) and basiclly not worth the fix. I was so upset that I called to speak to Matts manager. The manager stated that Matt probably thought it'll be better to put money in my pockets.I dont want the money. That's why it's a claim. He also mentioned that Matt's done it before upsetting customers. By not understanding, I'm assuming? I said if my repairs are not meeting dollar amount in minmum, they should have told me months ago and not say yes then say no to me 3 months later. He told me that it wasn't because the repair was "too little." He said they would fix it and order the part, and he would personally call me when part gets in.

So far it has been in the shop for a week to receive a "blueprint" for repair. We were told it will be likely another week to wait for additional insurance ok for additional cost. They are amazing professionals who know what they are doing. One of our repairs was to repair vandalism that resulted in damage to the front roof pillar. They took the time to repair the damage and maintain the structural integrity, and when they painted it they blended it seamlessly. When another vehicle had damage to the liftgate, their work was just as stellar. Being in a particularly brutal part of the car for Minnesota conditions, there was an issue with the repair. I walked in, chatted with their Estimator and showed him the problem. Will was wonderful to deal with, and to my utter surprise they performed warranty work without any hassles. I wanted additional work done as part of an insurance-covered bumper repair, including an aftermarket bumper. Other shops I contacted, including one GEICO directed me to, weren't willing to accommodate the request. I searched for highly rated body shops in Minneapolis, found Hagen's, and I'm glad I called. I have no problem with that, but then…read moreyou need to view your job as a car salesman.   My teenage son is shopping for his first car. He was interested in purchasing a used car from them. They only list through cars.com, no sales website, so I sent a message with specific questions about maintenance and requesting a time to see the car. I received no response. I had to call and set up a time. When I called, I was told the time should be fine, but I should text him 30 minutes before to make sure it was still okay. I told him it would have to be 60 minutes as I was driving an hour to see the vehicle. I texted that I was on my way and got no response.   When we arrived, he acted surprised to see us. I told him I texted, I had to show him my phone because he didn't believe me, he tells me that's not his number. It was the exact number I had called him on from the online posting.    We test drove the car, it drove fine, and was very clean. After the test drive I asked about the known mechanical issues on this particular make/model - the same questions I had asked online with no response. He couldn't answer one way or the other, which is information enough. However, he had already offered the Carfax earlier, so I asked if we could see it. He said something along the lines of "so you're going to buy it if the Carfax looks good". I obviously wasn't going to commit to anything at that point. He did share the Carfax. We left and reviewed the Carfax, there was no indication any of the work had been done to mitigate the handful of known issues with this particular make/model.   He texted and asked what we wanted to do because he had others inquiring (Classic sales tactic). I told him we decided we didn't want to take the risks on the known issues since they hadn't been addressed and I thanked him for taking time to let us see it. His response "Okay, for the future probably best if you decide what make and model you want first before spending time." I responded and let him know that I had tried to ask my questions in advance but received no response. And politely let him know "For the future, probably best if you answer the questions people have in advance before they have to spend the time to come see it." I had way more time wasted than he did.    If he wants to be a car salesman, he needs to understand that even a serious buyer is going to walk away from a purchase sometimes. The problem is he's a mechanic and I understand a mechanics time is viewed completely different in terms of productivity, but the average car salesman works 15-30 hours for every sale. The idea that I wasted his time when he could have just answered my questions via email from the start is simply ludicrous. Not sure about his mechanic ability, but definitely would NOT recommend this car buying experience.

Best car dealer ever!…read more I was able to pickup a rust-free Toyota Yaris with only 129k miles for about $5000 (which is a steal if you know anything about Toyotas!). Only had to change the oil in it so far. But not only that: Konstantine was also able to fix up my broken Corolla (with major frame damage) for about $2000 after totaling it in an accident. Other places quoted me at $4000 starting out. They even painted the bumper for free! I've never been to a dealer that had such low prices while also swinging me such a good a deal on top of it. I have to say that Konstantine and his crew are a hard-working, fair, & honsest bunch. I will certainly bring my Corolla back in to replace the suspension once I get the money to do so.
