We were very very very impressed by this place. It's a dimly lit Spanish/Italian place that does a fixed price tasting menu at the chefs whim. We asked for it to be vegetarian friendly, and they absolutely accommodated that. I would be back any day. They gave such generous portion sizes and every thing we ate was spectacular. This was a nice restaurant in Valencia. Good location and environment, yummy food, pleasant service... we had an enjoyable night. Took a spontaneous trip to Valencia for the weekend, and did not make any in advance reservations. It was surprisingly difficult even as a party of two to find a spot that would seat us. The spot ceded us with the caveat that we had to leave within the hour, which was fine, because we were starving and ready to order immediately. Barata salad was delicious, as well as the marinara pizza, and the pasta with Ragu that we got. The decor inside is pretty cute, and it definitely looks like a spot where people have pretty big gatherings based on the other parties that were there. Overall would recommend if you're looking for some good pizza and pasta in Valencia and as I have been writing in all of my other reviews for the area, just try to make reservations if possible. read more

Just make sure you know exactly which location you are going to bc I called and specifically asked if it was the location near the plaza de la virgen and they said yes so I made the reservation. When I arrived it was not and I had to take a 20 min taxi ride to the other location and was 30 mins late meeting my friends. They blamed the mistake on not understanding English ( which is fine bc we're In Spain) Just be aware there are two locations! read more

We were walking around Valencia hungry and finally broke down and asked some locals, where should we eat?...they directed us here and simply said, let them feed you well! We get there and choose to eat inside since the street was dirty. The owner, an Italian woman, says, you can order from the menu but it is better just to let us start bringing you food until you are full. So we did. They just started bringing food...plate after plate...it was awesome. Thick homemade tagliatelle with longaniza in a creamy mushroom sauce...Carpaccio with arugula and Parmesan... Hojaldre with apple Gorgonzola and Garnished with red peppers...Valencia is dirty and smells...places like this make it so much better! read more

We had walked by this place on our way to Riff one night and thought we need to come back and try this place out. Every table has a wine bottle overflowing with old wax and candles burning bright. Whether you are sitting indoors by candlelight or outdoors people watching, this is a good spot to relax. We tried a carpaccio, salad, cheese pastry, and a pesto/tomato pasta and enjoyed everything. Amazing price point, great food and authentic (per an Italian - not me). I may not be the best gauge of authentic Italian food, but my half Italian co-worker is. According to him, this place was spot on, and he couldn't find a waiter who couldn't speak Italian. I can't confirm this, but I'll take his word on that. As far as the food goes... there's no real "ordering" at this place necessary. They will bring out dishes constantly and (according to the waiter) if the dish doesn't suit you, they'll bring something else out (talk about confidence!). I believe you can custom order or request specific items that they have, but I didn't bother trying with my Spanish and Italian co-workers present to do the talking. Now here's some noteworthy dishes: * Fruit Salad - Actually worth noting since it's really good salad with a variety of fruit. * Carpaccio - VERY good. If you like carpaccio, you'll like it even more here! * Linguine with Truffle Powder - TRUFFLES! Need I say more? This dish was AMAZING, but if you don't like truffles... hmmm... I wish I could tell you what wine we had, but I failed to stop and take it down, but there's some good wine here as well. The venue, very nice and very busy. This place filled up quickly. I believe it opened at 8:30, and within 30 minutes the place got packed! In warm weather, I'd recommend the outdoor seating; for a popular neighborhood it's not too loud. This restaurant has also expanded, so there's quite a good amount of space. Overall, a place you should definitely try! And again, the pricing here was surprisingly reasonable!! read more

This was the only place that we ate during our Valencia stay and it was so good that we did both lunch and dinner there (on different days though!). The lunch service offers a full course meal that includes your choice from appetizer, entree and dessert. For 11 euros it was amazing. You will be able to choose from 3 dishes for each category. The salads were very light, fresh and tasty. For my main dish I had a pastry (a.k.a. pot pie) and my wife had a roasted chicken. Both of them were cooked to perfection. The highlight of the dishes are these roasted potatoes. I cannot even put to words how delicious they were. They were so good that I was grabbing every little of seasoning left from the potatoes on the plate. They were that good! My wife raved about the chicken, which was very tender and juicy. The desserts were great as well. Our waiter spoke English well and was not only patient but also courteous. The dinner service is a la carte. I recommend that you just take the suggestions from the waiter. We had a salad, a plate of charcuterie and a pasta. It was plenty of food for both of us. Do like the locals and order a Estrella Damm for your meal and end up with a cortado. read more

I lived in Valencia for 3 years and love this little place! I had my rehearsal dinner for my wedding here and it was wonderful. The table settings were so elegant with candles, fruit and vegetables spilling all over the table. They usually serve a set menu depending on the time of year but they do have things you can order a la carte. But being in Spain, they expect you to inquire about it. It is dark inside but that is part of the romantic charm and of course it takes a bit to get seating and served like in most Spanish restaurants but I think you've got to take that in stride as it comes with the culture. Brits and Americans - don't expect anyone to speak English to you here! It's in the heart of where the real Valencians live and they will serve you in Spanish. read more

A great experience! This fairly authentic Italian restaurant can be a little intimidating/ disconcerting - there's no menu and I don't think any of the waiters speak any sort of English. Thankfully, we were with a friend highly fluent in Spanish (and a little Valencian/Catalan). For 20 euros per adult, "less" for a single pasta dish for kids, you get the menu of the day, with a few choices. Ambience was nice and romantic. Service was friendly. We were there somewhat early at around 8:30 or so. We had a great salad with banana and pear, beef carpaccio, a cheese and truffle puff pastry, some soft cheeses, a beef ravioli, and some other tomato pesto pasta. The kids all had a pasta with four cheeses. Food tasted fresh and great! The house red, white, and the 'summer wine' were delicious. Price, including wines, was extremely reasonable. Restaurant Lambrusqueria is amazing! I know it is not Spanish food, but after eating a lot of Spanish food in a lot of different Spanish cities we ended up here and went back three times! They have a great luch menu with big salads (less than 7 euro with fantastic wine) so it is a great place for a cheap and healty lunch, you sit outside and it´s great people watching. In the evening we chose for the ´surprise us´menu (or is that standard?) and it was out of this world. We rely on Yelp to find restaurants everywhere we go, so when we saw 10 reviews of average 4 stars out of 5, we went to Lambeusqueria. Our experience was beyond disappointment, and here's why. Service: slow. It's a busy Sunday night, so we were okay to wait for 20 minutes for a table because the waitress said they were cleaning the table for us (for the whole 20 minutes!). But when we finally sat down inside the restaurant at a table that they were still setting up, we realized there were at least 6 tables empty and already set up around us! Ambience: very dark inside, each table has a spot light that looks like a desk lamp. Menu: "OMFG are you F'ing kidding me?!" summarized the menu. One waitress came up and asked what we want to order. We said we haven't gotten the menu yet, she said they don't have a menu even though there was a menu hanging outside at the restaurant front door! We were confused, she went on to explain that they have a prix fixe menu of 20 euros/person for party of four (verbally explaining in Spanish to us about what's in the 20 euros/person deal, but still no actual menu!), she said if we don't want the prix fixe menu we are allowed to order pasta or anything we want, but she can't tell us the price of dishes that are not included in the prix fixe menu. One of us asked "so you expect us to order without knowing the price?!", the waitress got pissed, she mumbled something then walked away looking pissed off. We were left at the table confused and frustrated. Then the head waiter came by to explain the prix fixe menu, she was polite but still the "no menu, order what you want but I can't tell you how much it will cost" situation remains no change. We ended up getting up and left. I think if we spend 20 euros/person (minimum of four people and not including any drinks), I can find another restaurant anywhere easily in Valencia! read more

We discovered this place our first week in Valencia before we knew Spanish dining hours. They fed us a delicious lunch with what they had cold as the kitchen was closed for a few hours. We felt like family. We've been back several times since and have been happy each time. The food is fresh and delicious and the service very friendly. We're glad it's close to where we live.
