I would highly recommend the cauliflower curry as well as the chicken korma which is wonderfully flavorful with a bit of spice. A little odd was the Butter chicken, because for some reason, the curry was super duper sweet which I thought was a little bizarre. Other than that my friends all enjoyed the lamb and the coconut based curries with chicken. One thing you must order, are the mango lassis and the garlic naan. Never forget the garlic naan.

We started with an order of paneer pakora, and they came hot out of the fryers with three kinds of dipping sauce - a zesty yogurt, a spicy mint chutney, and a fruity (mango?) chutney. For mains, we ordered the Murgh Makhani (basically buttered chicken) and the Bangun Bharta (grilled eggplant that is later puréed with ginger, onions, garlic and spices). Everything had great and balanced flavours, and we got some good capsaicin heat where we wanted it. The mains come with plenty of basmati rice, which is wonderful for soaking up every last drop. The hostess was very nice and helpful, too. I point this out because I cannot digest mushrooms or tomatoes, and she helped me find something that I could eat without causing myself stomach trouble. She even went to the kitchen to confirm with the chef. The menu is in German and English, so no worries if you're visiting from out of town and cannot read German. It's a little on the expensive side, but I will be back again for special occasions later.

From a food quality perspective it definitely stands out and is a place I would normally be happy to return to. The restaurant itself is spacious and comfortable with plenty of room between tables which makes dining feel relaxed rather than cramped. Service was generally good and the staff was attentive and polite throughout the meal. One downside was that the restaurant felt a bit too warm which made the experience slightly less comfortable especially while eating hot dishes. The bigger issue however was that the server repeatedly had a finger in or directly touching the food while serving. That was uncomfortable to see and definitely not ideal from a hygiene standpoint. That said the food was genuinely so good that I still ate it and enjoyed the meal despite that concern. Overall Ginti has excellent food and a nice space but the serving practices could use improvement to match the quality of the cooking.

Cause even with German and English it was hard to understand most of the service people. And the food was mostly mediocre. Outstanding was the Chicken 65 that can be ordered as an appetizer. I would next time order it as a main, most likely even twice! It is that good! But we have been a huge group and so we tasted a lot of Indian dishes. Most of them were ok'ish not bad at all, but I had most of them in a better version elsewhere. So that is why I have to take another star down. which ends in a good three-star place. Nothing to be ashamed of.

The dishes were excellent and the portions were huge. The fish curry was tasty, flavourful and had really good quality fish and prawns in it. The chicken variety plate was also excellent with tender chicken pieces coated with various flavours and cooked in the tandoor. The lamb shank I tried was tangy and tender and the Dal Makhani was my favourite. Proper black dal cooked for hours and creamy and delicious. A great place to have Indian food in Cologne. A bit pricey but well worth the money. Thanks for the recommendation Ika :-) a great choice indeed and great company.

One of the most horrible food I have ever eaten in my life…read more I had a take away and the food was a complete nightmare and a perfect event spoiler. Neither did the curries (panner tikka masala and sabzi jalfrezi ) tasted well nor did the breads( Butter naan). The breads that were packed for us were completely burnt from the base (wish i could attach the pics here) When I entered the restaurant for placing the order, it was suffocating and stinking inside. The ambience was not at all good. Dear owner of the restaurant, Yea okay your restaurant is called Kamasutra but that doesn't mean you go hanging around pics of naked people all around, even on your menu card; Kamasutra means a lot more. I would never suggest anyone this restaurant ever again in my life. Try Ginti restaurant in Köln it's much much better.
