Great course and friendly staff. We were recommended this golf course when we were visiting Glenwood Springs. Short drive from where we were staying, and it didn't disappoint. Everything was well taken care of, and the greens were challenging, but speed was spot on for a good course. There's some blind drives but overall the links course was fun. Was in town for literally 18 hrs and wanted to play a round, found Lakota Canyon and they made booking a last minute weekend a tee time extremely easy. First impression; the pro shop employees were nice and made sure we had what we needed. They even fixed my buddy up with a left handed club set for no charge! I also appreciated how the cart was included with the cost of the round. After teeing off on the first tee box we found minty fairways, and a course in tremendously good overall condition, especially the greens! Good cart paths, and absolutely stunning views in every direction completed what I would consider a great golf club. After the round, we enjoyed extremely reasonably priced food and drinks in the clubhouse with a stunning view from your stool! Will definitely play here again next time I come through. read more

Lakota Links is the absolute best course near Vail, Aspen, and the Roaring Fork Valley in Colorado. The scenery is gorgeous, the course is uniquely challenging and immensely fun, and the staff is welcoming. I highly recommend Lakota Links if you are visiting the area. read more

What kind of membership facility had no golf range for months on end? Every week is a new lame excuse why they don't have their range up and running. Greens are in terrible shape. Obviously not watered either. Clearly shows poor course management. You're much better off at Ironbridge or anywhere else. Understaffed, no course maintenance, no amenities or range facility - it's no wonder this place is falling apart. Stay far away. read more

Course is kept in really good shape. The fairways and greens all are set up to kind of funnel back toward the middle as long as your not way off...but the fairways are not wide so you can't miss by a lot. Fair value. read more

Accidentally left my range Finder hooked to the cart and gave them the cart number. We called back within the hour and they said it was not there. Before the round while in the pro shop a guy was asking if they found his speaker he left in the cart. They told him they didn't. Don't leave anything behind, Someone is keeping it all. read more

The view alone is worth the visit to Lakota Canyon. Most tee boxes are elevated (sometimes dropping 100 feet down to the fairway) and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery virtually on every whole. Of course, the scenery is not the only thing Lakota Canyon offers. The layout is very interesting and challenging. When I played, greens were super super difficult. It is very hard to find the flat surface on the green and if you miss your putt by too much, be prepared to add 3+ more strokes on your scorecard. Having said that, the difficult green does not make you frustrated at all. It is more along the line of amazing, creative, and, best of all, fun. I especially love that the course is very fair for ladies. I have played several courses in CO and many offer great views and great golf for men but not for ladies. Often, ladies' tee boxes offer no view nor challenges; just an after-thought... At Lakota Canyon, the view is not only great from the back tees, but from ladies' tees as well. The challenges you face in the game are similar between tee boxes as well. If you are a golfer and if you ever visit CO, please make effort to play this course. If my review convinced you to play at Lakota Canyon, you will thank me when you do. read more

This is a beautiful course with a challenging layout. Most of the fairways are wide open and quite a few slope dramatically from one side to the other so you need to use the topography wisely. The greens are challenging - undulating and/or multi-tiered, in a bowl, and yesterday (8/27) were extremely fast! Now the downside - this course has major drainage issues, a problem that has existed, I assume, for many years; at least since the first time I played it about ten years ago. Consequently, divots are extensive and very few players seem to replace them or use the sand on the carts. Players are equally negligent about repairing ball marks on the greens. The course is also lacking in signage. Of you approach a fork in the cart path but there is no indication as to which way to turn to get to the next tee box. That problem is compounded by the fact that some holes have you turn in one direction for the back tees and the other for the forward tees. It results in lost time and frustration. At $99 per player you would think they could afford to resolve that issue and make the course more more walking to guests. read more

This place has great potential! It is one of the best places to eat in New Castle. You can't beat the quality for the price. Service can be a little slow, they don't do enough volume at this point to keep the kitchen moving. It's worth stopping by for a quick bite, a Sunday afternoon football game or a beer after work. read more

This will probably get better. Golf gets an easy 4 stars. Very challenging course. Well maintained. The balance of the experience not so good. Things we take for granted and expect seemed to be nonexistent there. No on course bathrooms and none at the new clubhouse under constructions. There were 2 port-a-pottys on course but for the price, I find this not good enough. Signage is weak at best. In some cases it was easy to figure out where the next tee is but others a bit confusing. Also, several blind landings with only a small amount of help from the cart GPS was not good enough. This is not a straight away golf course and if you have never played it things can get a bit confusing. Maintenance she area is a mess and you drive right by it as you approach one of the tee boxes, Since the clubhouse is under construction I assume some of this will be cleared up. The lack of on course bathrooms probably not a any tome soon. read more

Scenic golf course with amazing views. My boyfriend and I have always enjoyed playing here a couple of times a year. However, BEWARE of the poor customer service by Peggy in the kitchen and Macy in the golf shop. I had a riders fee waived when booking the tee time, to only be charged upon arrival. The complete disrespect and poor judgement shown from these two regarding the "waived" fees was poor taste by this golf course. It gets worse...after paying the riders fee for myself and the golf rate for my boyfriend, he went to go get the cart. Peggy then radioed down to the man working with the carts and referred to me as the blonde chic to make sure we weren't sneaking a bag of golf clubs on the cart which by the way was over heard by everyone. Once the general manager called me back it was obvious that he wasn't going to do anything to fix this situation since Peggy the kitchen worker was his girlfriend. We were treated in a condescending and disrespectful way. Let me state that everyone has a job and we don't have a problem paying for a riders fee. It was the disrespect and poor attitude that was shown by the staff that put a bad twist on this golf course. read more

This course is in the worst shape I have ever seen. Broken pipes, swampy fairways, over priced for the condition, range is more than dead and looks horrible. At the end of our round the maintenance guy told us their ownership is in California due to bankruptcy. Just a fore warning. I wish we knew ahead of time. read more

My favorite golf course in Colorado. Jim engh course that is better than fossil trace, redlands mesa and redhawk. Worth the drive.

This golf course is one of the most fun I've ever played. Not a classic design, the course runs up, down and through several canyons and is an excellent test of golf with lots of elevation changes and challenging choices for different players. But you have to hike to the back tees for a bunch of WOW sights even if you don't play them. Apparently the course was intended as the centerpiece of a housing development that crashed, yet, the small staff was very helpful and professional. Plus, the course is in very good shape. A group of us played here on a recent trip to Colorado and the place is terrific. It was a bit of a drive from Vail but the drive is beautiful running through the Rockies and along the Colorado River and the golf made the drive well worth it. This is a true mountain golf course with elevated tees and greens and I emphasize the term "elevated. Every tee shot or approach shot is severely uphill or downhill. The views on the course are terrific and the place is in great shape. As another reviewer said, this was to be the centerpiece of a new development that never got off the ground but the course is still well maintained. The greens are near perfect and there are no bad lies in the fairway. The staff is friendly and helpful. If there was ever a course that needed a yardage book or GPS - this is it. They have neither and that is my only complaint. Because of the elevation changes and fairways winding through the canyons there are many blind shots. The course is hard but fair. We can't wait to play there again. Don't miss this gem if you are in Colorado. read more
