I haven't been here in quite a while, but I wanted to give them a shout out and say what I know…read moreabout them. I cannot do them justice since they have many programs here to help members of our community that I haven't worked with. I have volunteered here a few times when I was a student through UW-Milwaukee. I helped bag groceries to be handed out to members of the community who needed help. They work very hard to create a balanced bag nutritionally each time such as protein, breakfast items, meat/ eggs, fruits/ veg, dessert (if they have any), soup, pasta/ rice, and a few other types of items I'm forgetting. When they have fresh fruits and vegetables they place them out for people to pick from. They also let people pick out bread items. The number of bags people receive depends on family size. They also have baby food items for those who need them. I also organized personal cleaning supplies (keep the good stuff, throw out the bad/ expired, put out the smaller stuff for people to pick out for free when they came to pick up food, etc). I thought this was really nice of them to have available, many people looked through the baskets once I started filling them. The staff is very kind to those who come in needing assistance and try to help. The area I worked in was basic but clean. They treat the community members that need help with respect (I've seen orgs where they don't treat people very well, this is not one of those orgs!). Great place to help the local community and for people to receive assistance. I've only scratched the surface as to what this nonprofit does for the community, check out their website. I asked about any sales or promotions they should be having as most ReStores do and the person at the counter looked puzzeled and asked manager to explain to me his ruling on what doors where 20% off and what doors where 10% off bassed on his perceived value of the door that I would have chosen. I then overheard another costumer ask if they where ever going to have a sale, and the manager laughed out loud and replied "We don't have sales. We don't have to do what the other stores do!" in a sour, crunchy manner. I also heard the staff in back talking about some of the items that had been there for months would certainly move better and make the organization more money if they would only lower the prices. In the future I plan on not shopping at that ReStore as I don't go out of my way to have my stomach turn over due to bad energy!

We found our Max ( also known as Drift) at the adoption fair last Saturday at a pet store I read about on line. Leah and Mike were absolutely phenomenal with the process. They answered every question we had. $500 for the adoption fee was actually very reasonable, if you consider what they ( all dogs live in foster homes) have to do to feed the dogs, veterinary care, ect.
