I found The Art Cottage and learned that they do watercolor classes-and figured I'd give it a try. You do need to call or go online to reserve your spot-space is limited. I called and was able to get in easily for the day and time that worked for my schedule. I showed up a few minutes early and was setup at my station with paint, paper & brushes. I was ready to go! The class was brief-I learned a few basic strokes and techniques in watercolor. Gradient painting where you start very light and work your way into the darkest version of a color. I also learned the "wet on wet" and "wet on dry" techniques and when it would be appropriate to use each. I also learned how to fix mistakes and turn them into more intentional pieces of the art. I really channeled my inner Bob Ross turning things into birds and clouds. After the instruction, I was set loose to do a painting. There were some binders full of examples to provide inspiration, but no step by step instruction, which is different from other canvass/acrylic painting classes I've done elsewhere. I applied the techniques I had learned in the lesson and some suggestions from the instructor. Although my painting might not be one worthy of hanging in a gallery, I enjoyed myself and would recommend taking a class to anyone who might be mildly interested in watercolor.

She was also unable to find a satisfying place where she felt she belonged. Everything changed when we found School of Rock. Her grades instantly came up and the zest for life came back. Within months she learned enough in lessons to perform on stage. She overcame her shyness & worked hard. It was the best social life she ever had! More than that it became our families cohesion. We shared the excitement of concerts, some with celebrities, and special events with the School of Rock family. I no longer had to worry about where she was or what she was doing. I only wish All of my children could have had this life changing experience. We had the time of our life! I expected that Tiffany would want a young teacher at her age. Much to my surprise she preferred experience. Through the structure she took it serious, developed a respect & became great friends with the 1st. She stayed with Ben the whole 4 years of her presence there. We felt he was The Best! A knowledgeable show director, awesome teacher, fun loving person & great with adolescents. It has been almost 2 years since she graduated from this youth program and I hope we will be back soon to "PLAY AGAIN"! It is possible in such a creative flexible program. We could not even choose 20 photos without duplicating the shots. The quality, selection and service is very poor and they were very difficult to work with in getting a refund. We had to dispute it with American Express. We even agreed to take the first package and only refund the second, but they refused. They are very difficult to get in contact with. They showed up late for the appointment.
