He is the definition of a slumlord, has threaten to kick me out multiple times without warning due to no fault of my own, only to change his mind at the last second. (Continuous emotional distress) During my time there he was the least accommodating slumlord I've ever witnessed, never followed up on repairs, when construction was being done he wouldn't provide you warning when people would be entering and even when they did show up they never did what I had requested. Ex, fix the heat during the winter or loud construction during working hours. He even raised rent on me for no reason while I was renting from him while I always paid on time and never missed a month. After the 3rd time he threatened to kick me out-he asked if I would like to stay and continue to rent of which I refused and left. After finally feeling relieved and free from his abusive grasp, tax time came around. I asked for copies of my CRP (certificate of rent paid) of which he requested $25 per copy, of which is highly illegal and I had to address my lawyer of which they confirmed what he is doing is highly illegal! Two days and multiple showings later, I had a fantastic renter who committed to a 26-month lease. I credit this to my leasing team's knowledge of the market and reputation in the industry as being the go-to provider for condos in the MSP area. Since leasing my condo over two years ago, I have had nothing but outstanding service from my management team, namely, Megan Evans-Sharbano. She is quick, incredibly responsive and makes the landlord experience seamless. I live out-of-state and having someone on the ground near the unit, should something, happen is very comforting. My washing machine wasn't working and Megan not only sourced new machines within my given budget, she also arranged for the install and removal of my old unit, no questions asked. It couldn't have been a more painless experience and it's great to know I don't have to spend time arranging those types of tasks. I also have purchased Groupons for services for my home and she handles the timing of the service with my tenant. While the team does have a maintenance team who can assist with projects, it's nice to know they let me use whatever contractor or service-provider I want. She also does quarterly inspections to ensure the unit is being kept up, and is always providing updates as they arise. I've also referred DRG to a number of neighbors who are in similar situations and they have also had nothing but great things to say. As I look to sell my unit, there is no doubt that I will be leveraging DRG's selling team.
