During a recent visit to St. Cloud, I spent some time exploring Lakefront Park, a beautiful 2.5-mile recreational park along the southern shore of East Lake Tohopekaliga, better known as East Lake Toho. This was originally home to the Disston Sugar Mill in the 1870s. After the city of St. Cloud was founded by Union Army veterans, the area gradually evolved into a scenic waterfront destination featuring walking trails and a large marina. After suffering extensive hurricane damage in 2004, the park underwent a major renovation. The improvements included 140 boat slips, new fixed and floating docks, a seawall, and a 10,000-square-foot community center. Today, Lakefront Park offers so much, with a sandy beach, splash pad, playgrounds, a concession stand, and more than two miles of paved walking and biking trails. The park also hosts a variety of community events, from monthly "Movies Under the Stars" screenings to seasonal festivals and bazaars. The full-service marina serves as a hub for boating and fishing on East Lake Toho while providing beautiful waterfront views. I enjoyed my visit and look forward to returning. Next time, I plan to take a cruise aboard The Lillie, a beautifully restored 75-foot authentic sternwheel paddleboat docked at the marina, and enjoy a meal at Crabby's on the Lake, the popular waterfront restaurant located adjacent to the park. read more

First time at this park in Saint Cloud and I loved it! I love the fact that there is a restaurant right next the lake with a beautiful and relaxing view, especially if you want to catch the sunset. On the other side of the restaurant, it has a recreational area with benches, grills, where you can also enjoy sitting on the sand beach or play a volleyball games. My husband and I enjoy coming here for walks and bike rides! The views of the lake are gorgeous and we enjoy the trail space around the park. There is a good amount of parking too! We are excited to come back during the summer months to the beach area too! Such a neat concept! read more

This remodeled lakefront is very spacious, clean, and safe. They have over 2 miles of bike/walking path, and several benches to rest and take in the lake view. You are sure to spy an alligator or two, or three, or four. There is a grass walking path for dogs as well, however, we did notice that people were very lazy about picking up their dog poo, which is very disappointing, not to mention unhealthy. There are bathrooms for your convenience and a restaurant (Crabby Bill's). There's even a small sandy beach area, playground and splash pad for the kids. There is a decent size marina too. Overall it a great family friendly environment in the heart of historic Saint Cloud. read more

As the name suggests, this is a great lake front park to enjoy a picnic or a run. You'll find a good amount of picnic tables, walking trail, and even a beach. Take a stroll and you'll get to see a lot of nice houses alongside the lake front as well. Plenty of space for parking with 2 parking lots, and parallel options as well. You'll find lots of runners, families, and four legged friends all enjoying what this park has to offer. There's even a small beach (not dog friendly) where you'll find people getting their tan on, or playing volleyball. The water is coming from a lake, so swim at your own discretion. Perhaps get your feet wet, but I wouldn't journey more. There's a shack by the playground that offers snacks and refreshments, and Crabby Bill's restaurant is right smack center where the boat dock is. The only negative part of this park is there really isn't a lot of trees along the way to provide shade and fresh air. It will get hot on a Florida summer day, so be prepared if you plan on walking it's entirety. Otherwise, a great place to enjoy some fresh air and company. read more

This place is fantastic. Tons of space. Tons to do. Crabby Bills for food to eat. They have a snack shack area that offers basic snacks at a good price. Lots of picnic tables and pavilions as well as trash cans for all of your picnic trash. Splash Pad is great and the kids love it. The point provide a nice walking space out into the lake. The walking/running/riding path is super and provides plenty of exercise area. A haven in the midst of the chaos. Well worth the stop and sit by the lake if you are nearby. read more

This is a really nice area. Probably one of the nicest areas in St Cloud. A lot to do, parks, access to the lake, pier, restaurant and even beach volleyball... this is a good area to hang. Plus, I always seem police cars in the area, even late at night... they often do rounds to make sure everything is ok. Great to go with the family! read more

It's definitely the best view in all St. Cloud due to its position directly on Lake Tohopekaliga. The surface of the lake seems endless and the vast space allows for water activities and boating without having to be at the ocean. Gathering at this park facilitates boaters and nearby residents with an accesible open space to enjoy the outdoors. Many groups gather here to dine at the lakefront restaurant as well as go for brisk walks or just to soak in some clean air. It's a nice scenic part of town with parallel parking available. There's plenty of docking and rentals available as well. If you're in St. Cloud, it pays to come here to take in the relaxing view of the water as it's my favorite and most scenic part of visiting this area. It's close to major shops and dining as well so take a swirl by Lakefront and enjoy the great outdoors. read more

74/100 in 2016 challenge Great down home park. The views here are amazing. They have a wonderful play area for the kids. The play area has fountains for the kids to run and get wet in. The stretch of lakefront runs 2 miles from end to end. There is a running path close to the water which is very nice. The sidewalk is mark with the distance should you like to know how far you went. Water fountain to drink from along the way. There is a concussion stand to purchase drinks and snacks should you want to. A descent restaurant is also located in the middle part of the lakefront. There is a boat dock to dock your boat. There is a jetty to walk out onto to. Volleyball and many pavilions to rent. Nice sandy beach area. Once a month there is movie night under the stars which is always fun. There are 4 bathroom areas. The first weekend in April usually, is a bazaar where the whole lakefront is shut down for the carnival like theme with rides and carnival type foods like caramel apples, cotton candy, etc. etc. and the basic craft stuff that everyone sells.Definitely worth checking out when you have time. read more

This truely is St. Cloud's largest asset. The remodeled lake front now has been transformed with a beautiful non bumpy bike path perfect for fitness inline skating as well as bikes and jogging. It is about 2 miles long. The path is adorned with fountains a playground and splash pad playground for kids, a restaurant, a marina for boating and there is a grass walking path which is great for dogs. Weekends can get busy especially if its a holiday weekend but during the week it is a lot less crowded, they have beautiful sunsets so you may want to bring your camera. read more

My kids and I love this park and visit often. There are decently clean bathrooms, a water fountain and ample parking for visitors, which is much appreciated! The splash pad provides a great place to cool off and the playground offers shade, unlike many other parks around. There is a sandy beach with volleyball courts and plenty of park benches under the shade of the trees along the lakefront. Another great feature is the miles and miles of walking paths that are along the lake, which are always bustling with people. The missing star goes to the smokers (a lot of times these are parents) who think it's cool to hang out around a kids' play area and choke us all out. From an asthmatic's mom, it is NOT cool. I do not know if there is a law prohibiting this, but it is extremely frustrating considering there are literally a million other places to bust out the cigarettes. Otherwise, an amazing place to play on a sunny day. read more

My family and I had been looking at a house not far from this park, when the realtor suggested we stop by. I was pleasantly surprised. The splash pad looked very inviting (no bathing suits since we hadn't planned on coming here) and the playground was wonderful. It has a large covering so even on the hottest days, the kiddos can play and be cool. We just walked around and looked at everything, but hopefully we can come back and have some fun! read more

I must visit this area at least twice a week on long bike ride. No matter when I am there - morning, noon or night - there are always people out walking, running, taking their pets out for jog or kids playing. There are two trails along the lakefront, a number of pavilions and picnic areas and even a kids play area. There is also a small promontory where you can walk out into the lake and get a better view. This is a perfect place to relax, breathe and reflect on the good things in life. read more

Absolutely beautiful lake. It's huge. They have the waterfront covered in nice white sandy beach sand. Boating, skiing, swimming and a great water park for the kids. Oak trees line the street with covered picnic tables and grills. Restaurant is right there if you prefer to not cook out and it's great food and drinks. read more

Average park. Very clean, lots of areas to ride your bike or walk. They do have areas to world that are not right on the highway which is a plus also. It can be very busy here from time to time and there's always someone there walking or something of that nature. If you have kids they have a splash pad so that could be a plus. I will go back from time to time if nothing else to do. read more

Hidden gem for some peace and quiet near the Disney Orlando madness. At the north end of the St Cloud Historic District is this lake stretching north to the horizon. Long fishing pier by boat docks is handicap-accessible. Park here all day free next to popular walking jogging trail along Lakeshore Boulevard, several Old Florida on the other side of Lakeshore. Very nice. The lake front is my favorite thing about St Cloud. They recently just expanded the west side of the trail and added another restroom facility. It did a 360 in the past 5 years. When I was a kid it never looked that nice as it does now. Great Job City of St Cloud!!! read more

Had a party there on 7/21 and the office made a mistake and double booked the pavilion well one thing led to another and because my phone died and I had no paper confirmation the officials made me rip down my one year old first birthday party to give to the person who did have their paper confirmation on them plus they called the cops and we never got loud we never gave anyone a reason to call the cops ! I'm so displeased with this place ! I loved this place in the past but I couldn't believe how they handled themselves it was horrible !!!!!!! Be careful anyone who does online reservation for the pavilions this place doesn't have their shit together !! read more

I usually use the other boat ramp on Chisholm park but I thought I give this boat ramp a try and man it was awful, I can't think of the reason why is designed the way it is. The walkways are so high and they are permanent like they don't float up or down with the water level and my 17ft boat sides end up like 4 feet below the rubber bumpers and walkway, then they have concrete pillars below that are a few feet apart so when the water or people move my boat you have to be careful not to scratch up the boat against them, even if you try using your own boat fenders it's scary. Forget about tying the boat while you go park, the walkway is so high up there you need someone to walk around and throw them the rope, or leave someone in the boat or take it to the other side where all the boats are parked where there is a lower walkway. I've seen people climb up and down their boats in the water all sort of different ways like in a comedy movie, overall a PITA boat ramp specially if you go by yourself. Then once you finally leave the ramp is so shallow that you have to move the motor as high as you can and barely make it out of there and there is only a narrow path too, I'm never complaining about the Chisholm Park boat ramp again :) The rest of the park looks nice but I didn't walk around. read more
