For starters, we drove over to the gravel parking lot and looked up at the parking lot to see goats - it always brings a smile to my face! Then we went to where the ceremony would be held by walking on the gravel from where you parked. The spot where the ceremony was held was beautiful with all the flowers and the water behind it. The barn was very nice, with vast chandeliers and other details. The bathrooms were nice, and the women had three or four stalls, which is appreciated. It held around 80 - 90 people comfortably. As a guest, I thought it was a really nice venue, and I'd be glad if a friend had their wedding there!

Also left us standing there for a decent while to just pay for tab as he was assisting all the bar customers with making sure they were completely taken care of first. Only helped us as the line was growing. There was one other woman working so they could definitely use help. Aside from the staff taking your orders at the bar area, it is completely self-serve. I placed a reservation request in the morning, and they called me in the early afternoon to let me know there was availability, which was great. I appreciated the variety of 15 wines from which you could sample to create your tasting. My picks consisted of: -2020 Sauvignon Blanc -2020 Fusion (white) -2020 Cellar 1599 Riesling: Cellar 1599 is a Waltz label, for reference. -2018 Cellar 1599 Red Blend -2017 Baron Red I won't go into detail on my experiences with each wine, but I did have a glass (and then buy a bottle) of the Riesling. The tastings come in little tasting tubes that are basically test tubes. While some might find that unusual, I'm a science person, so I liked it! They also have a cheese board (choose one of four cheeses) with chocolate and crackers, which I added. The tasting room staff were friendly and accessible. It was a beautiful day and lots of families were out on the large lawn. Too bad there isn't a restaurant here, or it would be even more of a win. In any case, Waltz is a winner!

There is a walking path along the river, with plenty of benches for sitting as well. The views of the Susquehanna and the bridge are very beautiful. When I visited this past Saturday, I walked over from town (an easy walk), but there was plenty of parking at the Trails Center, too. I just spent a few minutes here, enjoying the views, but I have been happy to read my book on a bench with those views if I hadn't had such a packed itinerary for my time in Columbia!

The stilted…read morearchitecture is current and elegant, surrounded by vast green lawn that faces the Susquehanna River.  It is also a perfect vantage point for viewing the Veterans Memorial Bridge.  The center provides an excellent source of information for accesses to the river as well as bike trails in Lancaster County.  It also offers facilities for events such as exhibitions and weddings.  The parking lot, though a substantial size, could be overrun especially in the summer during popular boating and biking season. There is one boat launcher and 2 docked paddle boat access points, including one which is wheelchair accessible.  And I should count also the one undocked access point right under the bridge. The center marks the southern end of the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail, currently my favorite trail.  The one negative I should point out is that it can be confusing to get to the trailhead.  There is an overflow parking area and restricted access road that can potentially mislead. The key is to go across the traffic light to where the murals are and head left until the Y intersection where you'd have to cross twice in order to get to the trail.  Aside from that, this place is perfectly situated and planned out.

My husband and I knew right away that this was the BEST venue for us- it has class, outdoorsy feeling, and provides so fun! It was the PERFECT place for our family and friends too. We were able to spend the entire weekend with our bridal party, had the rehearsal Friday night, and didn't check out until Sunday! Book the entire weekend! You're able to bring your own vendors and make everything your own. There are no stipulations, besides the music ending by 10:00- but you can use a Bluetooth radio for your after party with your bridal party! Our ceremony started at 3:30 & it was PERFECT! Inside the villa is beautiful, so many rooms, a huge kitchen, and the bridal suite is fantastic! Also, there are SO MANY photos options and the swing is just adorable! There is a hotel onsite for your guest to stay, so it makes it so easy to plan and book everything! Patti, the director, is BEYOND phenomenal. She goes above and beyond to make sure the bride is happy, your vision is complete and accurate, and truly makes sure your entire time there is exactly how you pictured it! She responds immediately to emails and texts and never makes you feel nervous! She works so well with all your vendors to ensure everything is how you want it. I usually give perference to the Holiday Inn Express brand.... But I am losing faith because there have been so many poor examples I've stayed at... but not the Lancaster/Mount Joy location! This location reminded me why I keep choosing Holiday Inn Express. The franchisees should be proud and the employees should be proud as their hard work shows. And the next time I'm in the area, I'm 100% sure I will stay at this clean, well kept, nice Holiday Inn Express.

Stayed here because my stay last year was pleasant. I stayed in 310 this time. This room was nasty…read more Shower curtain was stained at the bottom, bathroom smelled. Fridge had a rust stain or just wasn't clean. Food or whatever that was, was caked between beds under phone stand. Sheets had tiny black dots on it, (camera wouldn't pick it up). House keeping took trash and knocked milkshake cup out of it and left milkshake stain on the floor. Best part of my stay was staff was friendly and the pancake maker. Next year I will find somewhere else to stay
